Quote:Because you knew how it worked before you paid for it. There was no bait-and-switch here. You knew how it worked and chose to pay for it. It's working as designed and as intended and it's not going to change. And, if you didn't know how it worked, then it's still on you. Only a fool buys something without knowing what he or she is buying. Now why should I and anyone else "just deal" with -anything- we pay for?
Deal.
No idea how he missed all the explanations so I'm just gonna go with cluelessness. -
Well, no shortage of damage dealers.
FYI, if it matters to anyone and if you're not familiar with the trial, when you're fighting the Hydra, four people will be using the Particle Cannons (temp powers obtained in the mission). These guns have an INSANELY long animation that ROOTS you. You can't move, activate powers or use inspirations during the animation. So the Hydra, with massive psi powers, gets free shots at you while you can't trigger any defenses. And that's why I often run a Willpower or Dark Armor tank.
Or sometimes play a dark defender - that gives psi defense to allies and also has debuffs. -
Quote:It's not in the arc listing in the Pillar. It's one of the missions in the story arc from Miles Standish.... I mean The Pilgrim.Really? I don't remember seeing Outbreak as one of the choices we had to do in the 1 - 15 storylines.
(I know Standish wasn't actually a Pilgrim, but I think he's the best-known name from Plymouth Colony.) -

Quote:Maybe the devs thought there weren't enough threads full of whining? What was the point of the change? i also see no logic but to make it more annoying for people to gain access.
Quote:Guaranteed, they are only doing this now so they can sell an account-wide access token for the Midnight Club later.
Quote:A few points, the ITF is not a fun TF and those who say otherwise are borderline delusional to say its among the best TF without saying IMO after it. See for me its not opinion but fact
When someone else says the ITF is good, that's opinion.
When you say it's not good, that's FACT!
Priceless! -

Quote:I guess you're playing on the unofficial 'self-centered' server. Because it's not like that where I play. The time is long past where a lot of people help others just for the sake of helping. I've even seen people demanding inf for their help...
It's not just this MMO either, it's all over. The golden age is over, now it's all about self.
Quote:That's nothing new. Years ago, before the ability to flash back to old arcs was added with Oroborous, people used to pay big bucks to lowbies for a spot on their Fortuneteller mission team. If you'd missed the Fortuneteller mission when leveling up, which is frankly pretty easy to miss, you couldn't get the Atlas Medallion accolade. I know someone who routinely hired himself out to as many high-level types as he could find every time he got a new character to the level for the mission.
As for the arc change - I expected it to happen eventually. Being able to unlock the Midnighter Club with a time investment of, oh, 30 seconds felt broken. -
Okay, the netgraph in the lower right corner shows your ping going nuts (over a second in the 3rd screenshot). I get this also and it can be measured with tools outside of CoH and has nothing to do with the game (in my case, at least). It happens whether CoH is running or not and it can get bad enough to be noticeable during web browsing. My ping will sometimes go as high as 2500.

There have been several threads about the pesky launcher when downloading from scratch. First thing to try: close the launcher and re-start it. It sometimes gets 'stuck' after a stage and that may fix it.

Quote:Wait, you're saying that TV lies to us???My last job, I worked for a company that did video forensics software. Believe it or not, a lot of cops don't even understand that the stuff in CSI is just fake Hollywood magic.
Quote:Another thing that always gets me laughing at those type of shows is the whole, "the person isn't looking at the camera, but we can just move the camera down and then point it to the person's face....like....so...zoom in and...there the person is y. Go get him/her!"
Really?! You can move the camera angle down and do all that from a STILL picture? -
Quote:hmm.... OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. (Also Office of Emergency Management....)I realize this is around that price without a OEM or a Monitor.
Did you perhaps mean OS?

I learned this from a brilliant management consultant named Dogbert.I assume that the posters on this board are not childish, I therefore assume that every personal attack or other content free comment is an acknowledgement that I am right and the poster simply does not want to admit it.

Or there's my suggestion from back in NOVEMBER..... which solved the problem.

A singer has to 'work' to become controversial? That's absurd. Some are controversial; some are not. Some try to be and some have it just happen. Just like any other profession.

Quote:<shrug> <waves>Game requires too much maintenance. Too many bugs to fix. Sub par production<see party pack, see dog>. Too much mod not enough player feedback. Not enough devs. Too many things said and not delivered. Bases ignored for too long. Long standing bugs ignored for too long. Not enough perks to claim anything is "vip". Business model, not F2P model. Pointless arguing on the forums, also see "attacking someone for having an opinion". Lost interest. Moving on.
And yet I continue to pay for two VIP accounts. I guess this is all highly subjective and if you're not having fun, you really should go. I mean, it's a GAME. The POINT is to have fun. -
Quote:.... while pointing at the trainer and shouting, "IMPOSTOR!"I'm just wondering why people are assuming that the winner would lose access to the character they've submitted, though I haven't read the linked article yet. I suppose though, it would be funny if you were still allowed to play it, and you stood right next to the NPC trainer of that same character.
-
You seem to imply that there is no controversy because she was a singer. That is irrelevant. She, as an individual, was an inspiring, rather than controversial, figure. Profession is irrelevant. If the singer in question were Marilyn Manson or Gary Glitter, then there could be controversy.

Quote:If you're consistently missing, rather than just not being able to hold them for long, that suggests you don't have enough accuracy. I have a fire/kin and an earth/rad who both have tier 3 or 4 in every incarnate slot. When starting out, I focused on buffing teammates and debuffing the enemy, rather than trying to hold them. Now, with the level shifts, my earth/rad can solo the Lambda warehouse and lab spawns. Three more levels vs the enemy makes a big difference. But, guess what? He can't hold anybody! Maybe minions for a few seconds, but it's just miss miss miss, on lieutenants and bosses. Forget AVs. Is this the reason I so rarely see incarnate controllers? Sure, his pet is fine for damage, but the majority of his debuffs and holds are useless.
I also have a couple of defenders who are all T3/T4. You don't have to be a tank/scrapper/brute to survive and be useful in the iTrials. -
Before continuing with higher level task forces, we'll do the two trials in this level vicinity.
Saturday, January 28 at 1PM Eastern
Descent to the Hydra (AKA Abandoned Sewers Trial)
Level 38+
Requires 4 or more to start.
Contact is in Atlas Park.
1. Ironblade - Might not bring my defender this week. It really helps if each team has 4 brutes/scrappers/tanks.
2. AngelicaVenger - Shadow-Ripper (brute)
3. KEY-master - Hell-Lion (brute)
4. Asgardian Blade - Asgardian Blade (scrapper)
5. Saint Jon - Heated Exchange (blaster)
6. Everything Xen - maybe will bring something or other
7.

Yeah, democracy at its finest (and the UK is going a similar way as well >.<)
"Those who count on quote 'Hollywood' for support need to understand that this industry is watching very carefully who's going to stand up for them when their job is at stake. Don't ask me to write a check for you when you think your job is at risk and then don't pay any attention to me when my job is at stake,"
I followed the link and then went to other sites to confirm it. You usually don't expect the head of a major industry association to say something so astonishingly stupid on camera. I mean, we all KNOW they're scum and are bribing Congress, but to actually admit it. Wow. -

Next thing we know, you'll be dupin rares.

Quote:$50 gets you 4,000 plus 600 bonus points. So, i think $5 is 400? so $15 would net you 1, $50 should net you 3, with a third of the way to a fourth, plus one if it's your first PP purchase. Also, you get a bonus for buying in bulk, and that bonus also counts towards your next 1200, but i'm too lazy to do the math on that at the moment.

And what good would it do to mail influence to a character when the store contact would not talk to them?
This is back when doing the mission for Holsten Armitage was the only way to get your hands on level 35 science SO's. There was no Midnighter Club. There was no store contact in the Rikti War Zone (it wasn't even called that back then). Of course, there was also no way to email influence so your question is inapplicable.
Please note, I said I *USED TO* do the store missions on one character so I could buy SO's for other characters.
