I was on Paragonwiki a few times earlier today and I'm not seeing this. It sounds like something at your end. There's malware out there that specifically targets Wikipedia, i.e. when you visit the site, it 'seems' to be displaying ads, but they are actually being generated by malware on your system. I imagine there is malware out there trying to pull the same nonsense with any widely used wiki/forum/etc software.

Actually, it suggests nothing of the sort. It's a completely standard, generic, scripted response. We've been seeing that exact text, in response to a variety of questions, for years.

    It makes sense.
It makes NO sense. Firstly, why would the game need to track the level shifts of your teammates? The effects of buffs and such are not calculated on your system - they are calculated on the servers. Therefore, it's the servers that handle that information.

Secondly, being supersidekicked to an incarnate is no different from being SSK'ed to anyone else. You are not SK'ed up based on their incarnate level shifts.

As for the game 'resetting' your character and that involving a knockdown animation and shifting to a different map position, well, that's a remarkable flight of fantasy.

I jump into a fight at +0/x1, and after a single group I'm entirely out of endurance.

Obviously I don't yet have SOs, and I need some more slots/end reducers... but I'm really just wondering if it's even worth it at this point.
I have a shield/axe at 50. Looking at his build, the END issues couldn't have been bothering me too much. If it had, I would have had lots more IO's dedicated to +recovery. He has only 13% worth of set bonuses and doesn't even have the Miracle +recovery unique slotted. He DOES have the Performance Shifter +END, but I put that on almost every toon.

I'm thinking the END issues went away when I IO'ed him. Most IO sets end up giving you at least 30 or 40% END reduction in every attack and that makes a huge difference.

Having said that, it sounds like you are doing significant soloing with your tank. I generally avoid that. In my opinion, low level tanks are simply deficient in damage and END usage is often a concern. They're great to solo once I have IO'ed them and have all (or most) of their AoE's. Since I IO at around level 33, and shield/axe gets the 'good attacks' between 26 and 38, yeah, he'd be kind of scrubby at lower levels.

I would say you should definitely stick it out to level 22. At that point, if you can have 4 slots in Stamina with 3 SO's and the Perf Shifter +END, your entire play experience should change dramatically. And yes, it gets a lot better. You'll have Shield Charge and 3 AoE's in your secondary. Lots of fun.
  10. I think these badges are so easy to get that it's ridiculous to complain about them at all. It's not like you have to complete the trials with no deaths and no use of temp powers. Now THAT would be harsh at low levels.

In fact, I would like to see more badges along these lines - you need to use SOME brains and get SOME cooperation, but you don't need to flawlessly herd 16 or 24 cats.

Well, don't EVER expect to see spelling check built into chat. That's right out.

Regarding bios, there's a conundrum. You already have the option of writing the bio in another app and cut-and-paste it into the bio field in-game. Lots of people do this. The problem is the really incompetent and clueless people who THINK they know how to spell. They're not going to take that extra step and, if there was a built-in spell check option, they wouldn't use it.

See Dunning-Kruger Effect. Briefly (and insultingly), stupid people are too stupid to realize how stupid they are. Well-informed people know enough to doubt their own competence.

Not to mention that he seems have made some of the stuff up. At the very least, it's contradictory to the personal experience of multiple other people. Seriously, though, it started out okay but became a rant. At that point, it's no longer subject to rational thought or discussion.

The fact remains, however, that there is a very good reason for replying - correcting misinformation so that someone else doesn't come along and get inaccurate information from this thread. We can't convince a ranter, but we can present useful information for a hypothetical clueless person who reads this thread because they have the same question.

Yeah, this is pretty much the standard response.... and it's a pathetic one. Some of those decimal point issues would only be noticed by a min-maxer, while the error pointed out by the OP makes the game staff look incompetent to anyone who has completed elementary school.

Sometimes you see errors so stupid they are mind-boggling. The best one I ever saw was about two blocks from my college. It was a small store that sold paper, office supplies, etc and had a sign with letters two feet high informing us that the store was not moving..... i.e. it said STATIONARY instead of STATIONERY.

Seriously? Registered on the forums in February 2005 and *ELEVEN* posts??!?!
  21. I was surprised I got:
Alloy - tech tank in powered armor (This was like 7 years ago, but still surprised me.)
Captain Freem - I didn't think of this one until a couple months after the April Fool 'freem' joke.
Al Pine - plant/cold controller (This just works on so many levels.)
Numbers Guy - This can work for any tech or science character.

For my current tank (SR/StJ), both 'Fists of Furry Fury' and 'Furry Fists of Fury' were available. (I went with the first one.)
  22. Yes, yes, the usual "I'm not getting enough stuff for free!" rant.

If I were to take a break from CoX, it means turning off my subscription, because I'm not going to pay for a game that I'm not playing. Once I do that, the following happens:
    • My SG fees can't be paid, so my SG base goes dark and eventually vanishes.
Second part is false. The base does not vanish.
    • I miss out on months of VIP stipend, which means if I do return I'll be functionally behind -- new content that used to be given to subscribers for free now costs points, and I won't have points to pay for it.
Partly false. Only some new content has to be bought. And if 'keeping up with the Joneses' is important.... <shrug>
    • All my items in the auctionhouse vaporize.
      So remove them. duh.
    • I lose touch with all my in-game friends, so that when I return I have to start over alone.
I don't know who your friends are or how many you have. From *MY* experience, however, that's total BS.
    • Not sure what happens to my characters -- all of them except two become locked? All of them but two are deleted?
All except 'X' get locked. Can't say how many without knowing what you have bought in the past and how long you played before Freedom went live. No one gets deleted.
    • Meanwhile, I'll be building persistent worth in another game (whatever game that is) that will encourage me to stay there.
<shrug> Not like your 'persistent worth' here will vanish.

That's a lot of reasons to make any separation from the game permanent. It's not a real choice to 'take a break' and come back later. The choice is whether to stay or to go, forever.
Actually, it's a lot of nonsense. Of course, it's your money and your time so you're free to do whatever you choose.

Just out of curiosity, when was that change made? I know it wasn't always that way since I have several Nucleolus Exposures at 52+ that I bought from someone.
(I was just lucky that I was standing in Wentworths when he found he could not put them on the market.)
