The exception being the Positron TF, where you always get an EB and he never scales up.

Quote:It also does a 4th thing. It adds the risk that you might sell at an unacceptably low price. I used to count on that. I would find a valuable item that happened to have zero bids at a particular level and put in a stack of bids for a few thousand influence so it LOOKED like there was high demand - a bunch of open bids and the last five sales were in the millions. I would regularly get pieces from the Miracle or LotG set for a few thousand influence.Listing at a low price does 3 things:
1. Helps your item sell faster
2. Gets you a lower sales price
3. Means you don't have to worry about listing to high and losing money when you pull and relist
Anyone posting items for 1 infl needs to be aware of that risk. -
Quote:FYI, the SG listing is sometimes 'wonky'. You might have to try 3 or 4 times (or more) to get it to 'stick' when searching for a name. It's rare for an SG to completely disappear since the only way that can happen is for someone to kick everyone out, then have that last character quit the SG.yeah there was just me, my wife, and her cousen in the SG but between us we had about 28-30 toons in it. it is possible that my wife's cousen kicked us and quit the SG but i would like to think he wouldnt lol. if that is the case is there anyway to get my SG back? and yes i check the SG registry for my SG name and it show's no match for that name
Any time you're absent for 45 days (or it could be less, depending on the settings), you run the risk of losing the SG. That's just the way it is, and it was done intentionally so that people can't be 'stranded' in an SG with no leader and no way to administer the group.
In this situation, I'd contact the cousin and ask if he invited anyone else into the SG after you and your wife went inactive. I'm guessing that's what happened here, and then the cousin went inactive long enough to lose control of the SG. -
hmm.....

A pure flame. Yes. A clever plan. I myself cannot construct a pure flame; for that you'll need a champion of the people, someone whose inner light is fueled by the love of thousands. Take this candle to Maria Jenkins. In addition to being one of the sweetest women I know, she's earned the respect and love of this city many times over. I believe she'll be able to summon the pure flame. -
Quote:I went dark/dark since it fit thematically and it gave me a self-heal in the primary AND a self-heal in the secondary. If I were to build a dark armor tanker using the same stratergy, would It work just as well? (I imagine better given some of the soft control), Heal up faster, more HP to dip into and more passive healing, if so, what primary would work the best? Perhaps Dark/Dark?
Plus the defense. CJ + CoD + Weave + Steadfast unique and you've got a good jumping off point to start with set bonuses. -
Quote:The way around it is to change the billing limit. That $100 is the default but *YOU* can change it. It's somewhere in the account management screens. I changed mine over a year ago so I don't recall exactly where it is.I did send a message to billing but they said "you cannot exceed $100 in purchases per month". Which is ******** since the yearly sub is $143.
Anyone else have this problem and if so find a way around it? CoH is the only entertainment we have here and life would get really boring without it around. -
It could be the backlight. If so, you should get the same thing when it's not hooked up to a computer at all. The monitor should display some kind of message about no input, but the backlight should still act up.
That's what happened with mine. The entire image was flickering. It did the exact same thing whether it was connected to a computer or not. -
Sign me up for team one - Introspector, mind/psi dominator. Level 22 at the moment but probably higher by then.

Sheesh. The original post was from HOURS ago. I start writing a message, pause to get a drink and, when I finish it, there's 8 posts in the past 18 minutes. Is there a full Moon or something?

I think it would probably be boring. I suck at farming but my fire/kin runs at even level set for 8 players so it's actually challenging. He's not purpled and I'm far from an expert. Against -2's it would just be button-mashing..... well, even more so than it is now. Against even cons he at least has a chance of losing.

Quote:Rep? Maybe he already killed the PvP'ers within the last 10 minutes and was looking for additional targets.Goes both ways, however. if there are other people there to pvp then why not fight them instead of fighting someone/some people who dont tend to fight back?
He didn't ignore him. He replied politely. However, he did decline to accommodate the request. Nothing rude about that. Basically the guy was asking him for a FAVOR. -
Quote:Not every tank has the same goals. If you never play on teams larger than 2 or 3 people, you don't need Taunt. Some people don't like large teams or are part of a regular duo / fixed team / etc. And, let's face it, some tanks are built as scrankers and have no intention of protecting teammates. If you don't take taunt, then you either need a lot of AOE's, or the damage auras, or both, in order to meaningfully protect your teammates.
SD/axe looks great. You beat the axe against the shield. Not only does it look cool, it's historically appropriate.Quote:This hasn't been mentioned yet, and so I feel it must be:
Reason #7: The taunt animations for Mace and Axe are silly looking. -

Actually, the slider does have an effect on random rolls. It restricts which sets are available for the random roll by only allowing those that can drop at the level you set.
So, if you're level 50 and you set the slider to 45, you have zero chance of getting a recipe that occurs at level 10-40. The only recipes possible will be those that can drop at level 45. -
Stuck seems to have a limited range. I've never had it 'rescue' me from the bottom of a map. However, if I use the jump jet or raptor pack and get NEAR ground level, stuck works fine.

Quote:Maybe I'm spoiled, though. My main scrapper is /regen and is IO'ed and purpled up the wazoo with a build that would be worth about 3 billion infl today and /dark just wasn't cutting it.How about with the additional text I added?Quote:I'm a bit surprised by this. I'm not doubting your word Ironblade, you are one of the more cogent posters on this forum. I, however, noticed a remarkable improvement when my Dark/Dark scrapper reached SO level enhancements. She seemed one of my most sturdy, hardest hitting scrappers I've played to date.
I had one other scrapper that I retired at level 37. I have not made any other scrappers since then. My IMPRESSION was that /dark just wasn't as good as /regen, but I could be misremembering as it was quite some time ago that I IO'ed my main scrapper. Ironblade (BS/regen) is still my favorite character so I don't make any new scrappers any more. I'm sure I could make a new scrapper as fun and tough if I purpled him out, but I just do tanks instead. If I want a scrapper, I play the 'good one'.

Quote:You know, I WANT to disagree with this and say that the extra DEF is worth the END cost. However, I have to admit that I don't bother with Weave except on toons that do have the extra defense from IO's.Yes, that Dark Armor tanker running Weave ontop of all his other shields, when he has no other IOs in place...not being smart.
For a set like Dark Armor, you take Weave if you have the IO set bonuses in place to stack more defense. CoD + Weave + possibly CJ, just isn't enough Defense, to make Weave's end cost worth it.
So, while I disagree in THEORY, it seems that I generally go along with your position in PRACTICE. -
Quote:Heres a HUGE fact.
People belive powers like Combat Jumping, Stealth, Manuvers, and the Fighting Pool powers such as Tough and Weave matter more then they really do.By taking these powers, they short change the armor set, and many times abusivly skip powers from the melee secondary the Tanker has taken.Sure, there are always bozos with any AT/powerset.Quote:The guy was running 4 Armor Toggles, Combat Jumping, and Tough and Weave all at the same time.thats 7 Friggin Toggles.
My dark tank has Combat Jumping, Tough and Weave. He runs 10 toggles and laughs at most enemy types. Taking those powers isn't INHERENTLY a problem. It's what you do with the rest of your picks that make or break it. -

I heard they're putting a badge on Hamidon. Not under him; ON him so you have to spawn him to get the badge.

Quote:1- When an enemy spawns in, they are untargetable for a moment. The Repairmen start their heal, and finish the interruptable part, before they are targetable, meaning that they'll almost always get a heal in before they can be hit.It was not fixed. HOWEVER, they can easily (with the right powers) be killed before they can be targeted. A location-targeted AoE can kill them and pets can target them before the players can. Also, ANY AoE can be used against them by targeting the TOWER. When I ran this with my fire/kin, I just stood next to the tower with Hot Feet running and no repairman was ever able to do any repairing.Quote:I'm almost positive this bug was fixed a while back. On every STF I've been on in the past few months the repairmen get wiped out by AoEs before they fire off their heal.
Basically, you have to find a way to kill them before you can target them.
