Account renewal problem
I would go ahead and call support on Monday morning. They'll probably be able to walk you through the process of buying a year's subscription since the online process is being annoying.
If I could find a phone # I would do that very thing. Just haven't been able to locate one.
If the credit card is on file, then you should be able to alter the purchase limit to as much as $250 in the billing options on your master account. A support article about the card on file and options for controlling purchases can be found here. Hope that helps!

I did send a message to billing but they said "you cannot exceed $100 in purchases per month". Which is ******** since the yearly sub is $143.
Anyone else have this problem and if so find a way around it? CoH is the only entertainment we have here and life would get really boring without it around. |

OP:
You are correct. Changing your billing method to a Yearly subscription wont bill you until closer to your current "Play Until" date.
The only way I know of around that would be to use the extra money that you have to buy time cards, then add the time to your account that way instead. Problem is, you wont get the bargain rate that you would for the full year.
Ummmmm. You can easily change your billing method before your sub is up.
1. Cancel your sub. This does not cancel your access, it just stops any sort of renewal or anything.
2. Renew sub on new rate plan.
3. You will be charged when your current sub expires, not the day you renew. Keep that money available.

As I mentioned earlier, "Keep the money available" isn't an option for a LOW INCOME FAMILY. If you can't read the OP please don't add useless information.
I have just spent over 2 hours on hold on the billing support number only to get "we're sorry there is an error in our support system. Please try your call again later." I guess they really don't want me to renew two accounts for a year each.
Paypal.
Usage of paypal for the payment method will charge you right away, IIRC. The only possible delay would be the charge from paypal to your bank account - but that's just standard paypal and bank transfers.
EDIT : Buying Game Time with PayPal
You would want to make sure to choose 1-time billing, not recurring. That will cause an immediate charge. When I last used paypal for this, the recurring billing was not an option

Low income or not, you're still spending the money. You're telling me it's physically impossible for you to sit on however much it is until the sub renews? If that's the case, perhaps this money could be better spent elsewhere.
Oh, I read the OP. Your objection just doesn't make any sense at all.
So, why, exactly, is this money going to vanish in the next 6 months if it's set aside specificaly to pay for a CoH subscription.

Lately I've been VERY good at getting my bills out of the way. I recently changed my direct deposit to split my main paycheck (second job is irregular/bonus money as far as planning goes) between my regular bank and the bank with my (new) car loan but in such a manner as to build up a small reserve over time.
The rest of my money does tend to fly out of my wallet, though. On things like fast food, money, and just stuff that is a want and not a need. It can be easy to erode away a large sum with a buck here and a buck there if it's money you know you don't need for a need.

That, I can understand. Just not how the whole "low income family" bit has anything to do with not trusting yourself to leave the money alone as the OP seems to be intent on specifying...

How is that any different than "purchasing today"? The money is "gone" either way.
(I do this regularly for large purchase items, although it's typically "add $10 to my jar every time I have spare change, take it out when I save enough" instead of "put all of it in the jar and wait until X date".)

Being a low-income family, we don't usually have the money just laying around to pay our monthly CoH bill. We just received our income tax refund and wanted to put a year on both of our two accounts. So I go into the interface and find out there is no way to do this until the renewal date.
I know, I know. Lots of you are going to say "just save the money". The problem is that something emergency related will always come up so I want to get them now while the money is around.
