Depends. If your goal is to make a farming machine, almost certainly no since Flashfire/Fire Cages gets the job done, recharges faster, and isn't PbAOE. I find it useful on my Fire/Kin but I team at least as much as I farm on him and I like having as much control as I can since Fire Control is light on control anyway.
What other powers are you considering in place of it?

That, I'm not sure. Any suggestions on that? I plan to do pretty much exclusively farming with this toon. I have lots of other toons for teaming already, so I really don't need another one. lol
I just feel like I'm wasting a power point (not to mention the slots I have on it) because I rarely ever use Cinders. The fact it has such a long recharge period doesn't help, either.
I fiddled around with Mids some earlier while standing around in Atlas Park and managed to come up with (what I think is) a pretty good build. Whether or not it actually IS good, I have no idea. I'm horrible with builds on this game. Particularly when it comes to power sets I know next to nothing about (like these two).

I had cinders until i got the recharge high enough to have FF up for each mob and with tough, weave and frozen armor (or fire shield on my wifes) i can easily solo +4's and +2-3 with bosses.
If you don't have the recharge for FF to be up for each mob, then i'd take Cinders on the off mobs.

Personally, I view Cinders the same way I view all of the AoE controller holds since the massive hold nerf.
As a purely situational " oh **** " power.
I rely on my single target controls (and flashfires of course) and just use the AoE's when things go bad.
I'll usually just 3 slot them (unless I'm looking for set bonuses) with acc/hold, acc, hold and leave it at that.

Overall, it's an OK power. Not great, but unless you've got something better in mind to replace it . . .

I was mostly aiming toward resistance for smash/lethal. I haven't really noticed a problem with my recharge times (save for Cinders, and that would be a non-issue in the build I made), and without the extra hold I wanted more health insurance.
Your build would be nice, but I can't afford purples. The LOTG and uniques in my build are already making my wallet wince, but I can afford them much easier than I can a slew of purples.

Meh.... I don't have it and I do both farming and teaming and never have missed it or had an issue on a team with not having it.
