on so many levels this game is a shadow of itself from 3 years ago
In my head, I am hearing the 'Spam' song from Monty Python, except the Vikings are chanting "DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM!"

There really is such a thing as a 'bad customer' that a company is better off without. Some customers are whiny pests that will never be satisfied and the only prudent course of action is to ignore them.

Yes, it is. Assuming we're both talking about the same thing - that only someone in the correct level range can start it.

That said, the Eden Trial is one of my favorite things in the game, I recommned it. You just need to start it with a character between level 38-41.
    39-41

Yeah, that's what the OP was referring to as "using tricks such as guildmates". You can't get that badge to give you the power until you have already gotten *TO* Ouroboros - i.e. someone has to open a portal for you.

To me.. that is unacceptable on a Lieutenant rank critter, 3 successful hits with my hold and he was still beating the crap out of my buddy..
Well, since they display the animations and graphic effects from the Invulnerability powerset, that seems fine. Would you expect 3 stacked holds to mez a tank?
  6. I did say that the downed servers were NOT all on the same coast, right?
Anyway, only Virtue is down currently.
  7. Okay, so I'm playing on Infinity..... "Lost Connection to Mapserver"
    Can't log back in.
Well, I have toons on Virtue. Can't connect.
Server status shows Infinity and Virtue are down.
    Feh.

I have toons on Freedom. Log in there - 30 seconds later, "Lost Connection to Mapserver."
Server status now shows those THREE servers down.

Either I'm a Jonah, or something is messing up the servers. And those three are not all on the same coast.

EDIT: The design intent for Green Mitos is you essentially HAVE to hold them or they are nigh unkillable.
With all due respect, that sounds pretty badly broken (the 50 mag protection part). That would be fine for a zone event, but inside a task force? Not so much. (Actually, not even close.)

My SD tank does not have Hasten. It's not a 'click heavy' set, so I don't see the point. Also, when I'm making a tank, my goal is to be tough. Offense is secondary. Now, a fire tank or an ice tank would be a different story.....
  10. It depends on how much the powersets need it. On my ice tank, the primary has multiple click powers and I want Footstomp up a lot so he can use +recharge. On my willpower tank, the primary doesn't benefit. On a fire tank, anything that gets Healing Flames firing more often directly affects your survival.

My fire/thermal corr has a boatload of click powers and I slotted for a lot of +recharge. My earth/rad troller has perma Hasten, which means the entire team has perma AM - a pretty big benefit.

Your suspicion is mistaken. My system has 2GB and had exactly that problem.

    Sally's Extinct

New York state has a namesake lake monster also.
Champ, who supposedly lives in Lake Champlain.
  13. Also, I would PM Arbiter Kim with a link to this thread.
He's the primary bug contact on the forums.

    Sorry, couldn't resist.

Actually, that is TYPICAL. They spam millions of email accounts and hope they get lucky. I get phishing emails every so often warning me about my account at EBay - which I don't have, or my accounts at various banks - where I have never done business, etc.

Yeah, but they needed to be harder. This is highlighted by a line from one of the Hitler parodies - "I should be able to faceroll my keyboard and still f****** win!" Uh, no. Some of the older content can be done with zero deaths by any team where everyone has a pulse. Contrast this with the fight against Protean. There are two ways to make it an easy fight:
    1) Have exactly the right powers.
    2) Employ tactics.
The average player, who is used to stomping the Council every day and twice on Sunday, is going to get beaten like a rented mule against this guy.

I had a scrapper ask me for help against Protean. I had soloed him on my scrapper. We went against him, at a higher level than I had done it, and the fight went like this:
    1. Hit him, hit him, hit him.
    2. He activates his big power.
    3. I move out of range and the other scrapper gets nailed.
    4. Go to step 1.

Finally, an enemy where "Wade in and beat him down." is not a viable tactic.
NB: Unless, as I noted, you happen to have the right powers. For pretty much every enemy in the game, there is some combination of powers that will let you walk all over them. For the other sets, they need tactics.

I'd rather that than what it does to me: Mark's EVERYTHING read when I log in...about 30% of the time. Nothing more fun than coming in on a Monday morning and seeing "No New Posts" since I left Friday night, despite seeing right there on the front page post dates of that day.

I'm assured by our crack web team that this is caused by the highly unusual browser set up I use -- Firefox with NoScript and AdBlockPlus.
Interestingly, I use that exact combination and have zero problem with these forums from work or home.
HOWEVER, on an SG forum I visit, I get the exact problem you describe, but only on my home computer despite the fact that both computers have the same version of Firefox with the same plug-ins.

  19. It's appalling. The setting won't even stick during a single session. I'll sell stuff, play some more, go to sell again and get the message AGAIN. This is while staying logged into one toon - no switching toons, no log-outs, nothing.

I have to disagree there. I think the SG channel stinks under any conditions since you often only see one side of a conversation due to not being in coalition with everyone in the conversation.

They died in November of 2008. I know that because I used to track my healing progress (toward the Empath badge) and log my healing done at the end of each month. It worked at end October and not at end November.

(This was before we could get exact progress by mousing over the progress bar. We used to measure the progress bar with a ruler... uphill both ways... in the snow.)
  22. The usual cause of that problem is not enough RAM. How much memory does your computer have?
