When do you slot LotG +7.5 Recharges?

This question came up when I rolled a bunch of reward rolls on my 33 tanker and got two of them--I made them, but before using them, I decided my attack chain was already pretty smooth, and maybe they would be better used elsewhere. My 50 arch/energy blaster gets excellent mileage out of her LotG recharges and various +recharge set bonuses--rain of arrows is up every ~30 secs, and buildup/aim every 33 secs or so. Maybe not so necessary for my tanker, although +recharge for anyone certainly doesn't hurt.

Anybody have any specific feelings as to when to slot the LotG beauties? Heavy damage dealers, pet controllers, or anywhere?

As they say, you can never be too rich, too thin, or have too much global recharge. That said, if you have a fluid attack chain for your tanker and none of your longer-term recharge powers are that critical, I'd use it on another toon or even sell it (lvl 33 should be very popular for exempting down to lvl 30 missions.)

On the other hand, you can always respec out of them, right? I discovered when LOTGing my BS scrapper as an experiment that 5x changed my attack chain to essentially Headsplitter, Hack, Disembowel, Hack, which changed my style a lot.

Ooh, a sarcasm detector. Oh, that's a *real* useful invention. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technolog...t-sarcasm.html

You can be too thin...and recharge has a point where it reaches diminishing returns.

Lets say something takes 60 seconds to recharge with no recharge.

With 50% bonus it'll take 45 seconds (25% improvement)
with 100% bonus it'll take 30 seconds (50% improvement)
with 200% bonus it'll take 20 seconds (66% improvement)
with 300% bonus it'll take 15 seconds (75% improvement)
with 400% bonus it'll take 12 seconds (80% improvement)

recharge caps at 400%

As you can see you can fairly easily reach a recharge level where additional recharge doesn't help nearly as much. Of course you're probably also at game breaking attack chain territory when you get there, but you can have too much recharge.

Level 25 B-) I still need 2 more though.

It depends on how much the powersets need it. On my ice tank, the primary has multiple click powers and I want Footstomp up a lot so he can use +recharge. On my willpower tank, the primary doesn't benefit. On a fire tank, anything that gets Healing Flames firing more often directly affects your survival.

My fire/thermal corr has a boatload of click powers and I slotted for a lot of +recharge. My earth/rad troller has perma Hasten, which means the entire team has perma AM - a pretty big benefit.

For blasters novas, instant healing in regeneration, for SC and LR, endurance recovs, Illusion pets, carrion creepers, stuffs like that for me.

I actually hadn't slotted one of these until recently, on my WM/Shield Brute. He was already 50 and didn't *really* need it, but I had the inf so I figured I'd get one via the BM (I've yet to get one on anyone through merit rolls).

My Ill/TA controller that I'm playing now though is a different story. I'm at level 30 and just got to 200 merits, and rather than roll them I broke down and bought a level 25 recipe with the merits (first time I've done anything other than random roll). I didn't want to risk getting ten rolls of junk* and figured getting it now would speed up both leveling and future merit earning (I very well might Oro arcs in the 20-25 range).

* soon after I DID roll random and landed an Eradication quad. Yay luck.

If I'm not selling it, I slot it as soon as I get it.

I can be found, outside of paragon city here.
Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.

Well said! I guess that explains why I haven't felt the need to slot them (just yet at least)--my tank is WP and indeed no real clickies there to worry about. Makes sense if you have a lot of click powers which you want up as often as possible.

The second scenario also makes lots of sense--I certainly used as many LotG's as possible for my Mids perma-hasten builds. The one scenario I fantasize about now and then is getting a perma-Dom going...sounds insanely fun, but my highest level villain is 20 XD
