Quote:The questions based on made-up numbers? You don't know how many subscribers there are. None of us do. Seriously, "How do you explain these numbers I just made up? Answer me!"yes there are some legit reasons but how do you explain CoH only having roughly 60k subs and earning 1mil per month currently when in 2009 there were roughly 21,000,000 (pay to play) mmo gamers in the U.S. alone who spent an average of $15 per month???
Even with flaws, CoH is one of the cooler games out there compared so why such poor numbers???
As for the dollar figure, why is it so low? Because this game isn't WoW.

Quote:No, no, no.... you only pretend to be helping others. Your real motive is to get them involved in the market as a smokescreen for your evil marketeering. I have it from a reliable source that anyone who 'marketeers' is a bad person! That was me! it was half in reference to my avatar and half in reference to how we try to teach people to make money and have been since the market came out.

Quote:Currently, you go to this thread: Sat Aug 21, 1PM EST - Revamped Maria Jenkins arcPersonally I think that'd be great, where do I sign up for these TF's?
A new thread gets posted early each week with details for the coming Saturday. -
Quote:Yes, but it's also painfully obvious that some people are clueless. Usually, when increased server capacity is brought up, it's because someone is doomcrying that Freedom didn't go to red dots on some occasion.Actually, a number of people DO believe there is no population decline. I have talked on this topic in these forums before and many people come up with all types of reasons as to why the population isn't really decreasing. Such faves as: server capacity increased, school, etc etc. It is painfully obvious there has been a significant decrease in population.
The point is, some of the things people think are signs of declining population are actually meaningless. Dollars and cents is a lot better, but still not perfect. At least, not for people trying to claim that subscriptions have dropped by a specific amount. -

I would be delighted for you to take over the Saturday TF's again. That way, I can sit back and kvetch at you.

I just posted about Maria Jenkins' arc on Aug 21st and Tina McIntyre's the 28th. It's all yours after that.
P.S. Woo hoo! The Cats came back! -
Maria Jenkins' arc has been revamped with new enemies from Going Rogue. This is part of the content being released Tuesday as part of Issue 18 so you do not need Going Rogue to play this content.
We will be using Ouroboros so everyone on the team gets the merits. This arc contains most of the Praetorians needed for the Portal Jockey accolade. We will do Tina McIntyre's arc the following week, as well as a handful of stand-alone missions to cover everything needed for the accolade.
BTW, Tina and Maria got revamped also.
Arc: A Hero's Epic
Merits: ??
Minimum level: 45
1. Ironblade (toon to be determined)
2. Cynergyspyke
3. Fainche Skysong (bringing damage)
4. The Major
5. MISHMASTER (a tank)
6. Bete Noire - Angelic Sorrow (earth/rad)
7. MsMesmer (rad/sigh)
8. Gillian Boardman (support bunny)
9. AngelicaVenger - Minnie Taxi (rad/rad?)
10. Flux Overlord (scrapper)
11. Claude Eviserator -

Zombie is talking about the Proc120's, like Stealth, +Recovery, etc.
The 'chance for damage', 'chance for build-up', etc are not 120's. -
Most enemy groups are created to be available over a level range. It may be that they simply copied the original Hamidon, made a few edits, and stuck him in the TF. If so, he'd still be hard-coded to only spawn at a fixed level.
-
Full, and it's correctly scaled to take into account the level difference. i.e. If you're 45, exemp to 39 and defeat an even con Freakshow Tank, you'll earn the XP that a level 45 would earn.

Quote:Definitely. And even if we were all-knowing masters of the market in here, there's always new players showing up.It would be completely welcome. I'm not arrogant enough to think I know or have stumbled upon every market trick that people use, so I look forward to learning as well.

It does. Two. Not 'two per server', two in total, which you can put on whatever server(s) you want. The maximum of 36 slots per server is NOT being raised.
-
Quote:Got it. People who use the market differently from you are the enemy.I don't have an issue with WW, just how people keep trying to squeeze every last drop of inf that they can out of people, knowing how few pieces already exist.
Because we've never seen anyone around here criticize people for doing things differently.... oh, wait.Quote:You speak of credibility, but when people come in here listing ways to inflate rates or play with the market its all good. And if someone disagrees or has a different opinion, 'uh oh, circle the wagons, their trying to stop our income'.
(Overlooking the fact that your comments make it clear you don't understand how the market works anway.) -
Quote:Well, if you really want to rest in an area that does damage, it's easy to do. Rest has an immobilize effect. Ten break frees will negate it and let you walk around while resting. The incoming damage is alot less, altho i think its possible to rest next to one (outside the pain aura) and have another person "bump" you into the pain crystals radius.
The gladiator is linked to the Disruptor badge which is awarded for FOUR hundred PvP rep. The gladiator is named Longbow Warden. However, there are TWO gladiators with that name. The one you need is harder to get and costs more points in gladiator events so it's often called 'Longbow Warden 2'.Quote:I'm surprised no one has mentioned the gladiator heal farm. I'm not really sure how to set it up. It involves the 300 PvP rep gladiator, forgot the name..
The person who needs the healing credit should have 3 LBW2 and 4 of anything else (5 if you're a villain - some cheaper glads to choose from). Ideally, you want a group of friends working with you. Having a full team with gladiators can give you a few dozen targets for the healing. You need at least one person on the opposing team for the event to start. -
Quote:hmm.... Are you being sarcastic or did you just choose an ironic example by accident? One of the reasons Marvel was quick to settle the case was that their representatives (not sure if it was employees or lawyers) did EXACTLY what you describe - creating Marvel's characters in the game to 'demonstrate' infringement.Afterall, how do they know that a hundred Marvel employees didn't subscribe to CoH just to make Dr-Doom, Wolverine, Captain America, Black Panther, etc and then claim multi-million dollar copyright infringement when the characters weren't promptly removed when reported? I think we all know that Marvel is too big and profitable to resort to tactics like these, but what about a small time operation.... like your friends?

I saw Storm Shamans summoning their clouds two days ago. I dunno about the bugs.
-
I think the lack of a bunny has killed the interest in this event.
-
Suggestion for you - if you don't like the population on your server, then transfer like you've said you plan to do. Don't ask the devs to screw over the rest of us. Most of the players do not want server merges.

Quote:I've also heard it claimed- and this is well into Urban Legend terrain- that Jim Butcher plays and got to play "Harry Dresden" because, although copyrighted, it is his copyright.
... here is a reference. Maybe not so urban. So he has a big mouth. Firstly, he said "if", meaning he hasn't gotten genericed yet. Secondly, the GM's don't ask, they just generic without advance warning. Apparently he doesn't even know the rules or how they are enforced.Quote:When I'm not writing or sleeping though, I relax by wrestling with my ferocious killer guard dog, teaching myself to play acoustic guitar, and playing mindlessly violent shooter games and/or City of Heroes, my latest game obsession. It's cool, cause I get to name my character Harry Dresden, and if they ask me to change it so that I'm not violating copyright I can tell them, "I OWN the copyright!" -
Quote:Yeah, that too. I had to merge two inventory systems when our companies were merged.Pulling everything off the market and out of email. I don't trust database migrations.
I have enough also. But I still bid creep on salvage for purples where I just spent 200 million on the recipe. Just because!Quote:Leaving it all up, because I have enough money and crap that I don't care if everything I have on the market up and disappears.
