One person COULD have done it but it was, in fact, two people engaging in some kind of race. I was not one of them, but they were discussing it on a global channel that I am on.

Quote:Well, that's a problem with your character; not the mission or zone. I can TP across Firebase Zulu or the length of Indpendence Port non-stop.best part is the misson is 2.2 miles from hospital. And i have no travel except tp and the end to get there requires me to rest halfway.
Or not. It's actually a pretty easy mission. I've soloed it on a number of different AT's with no problems.Quote:its called extract sister jocasta.
P.S. drop this isson if u can -

Quote:Aren't these numbers a bit high, like by a factor of TEN!? I have an HD widescreen monitor and my resolution is 1920x1080. Maybe trying to drive a screen resolution with almost a quarter trillion pixels is causing a problem.Registry Information for Current User
Resolution: 19200x12000
3D Resolution: 19200x12000 (Not using renderscale)
As I recall, there is a third party program that lets you change the game resolution from outside the game..... called TweakCoH maybe? I'm not sure. -

Yes, but I think the OP was referring to casual players getting them as drops. Since they won't be slotting the purple, they will sell it and receive a large amount of inf (to a 'casual player').

Yes. My scrapper already has the Efficiency Expert badge at this time. At default settings, as I recall, the 15 minute timed mission took me 4 minutes and the 30 minute ones took between 8 and 12 each. Beating the timer is very easy if you have reasonable damage output. Stealth also helps. A very low damage build might want to bring a DPS pal with them.

Quote:All that happens is that they disconnect without displaying a countdown. There's actually something that happens? Dang, I'm tempted to hang out in Atlas just to see that happen. Unless someone has demorecorded it and put it on YouTube.
Now, when someone gets their named changed to 'Generic 012345678', you can actually see the change as it occurs. -

I usually get them 'mostly' right on the first try. On recent toons:
- stone tank - Level 33 now and no changes. Particularly happy with the powers (grey crystal for stone/stone).
- electric controller - Decided within 10 levels that I hated his eye aura and the proportions of his nose.
- electric tank - Smacked myself by level 15 for not getting the rocket boots. No changes between level 15 and 49.
On my main character, created in May of 2005, the only changes to his original costume were to switch the primary and secondary colors and to give him a custom sword when those were introduced.
I frequently come up with an entire new costume idea for existing toons. If I could, I would pay for extra costume slots. -
Quote:<cough>Ok I gotcha, to each his own I suppose. But I'm not like the rest of you, I don't brag about what I've done or haven't done.
Whose signature is this from? "Leading Badge Holder in the City of Community "
Or did you mean you don't brag about what you've done in the market? -

Quote:I'm a badge hunter. I recommend doing all of them at least once. If you want to work your way up to the epic grind, hold off on Dr Q. That is the longest - by far. Just look at that merit reward. Now something that I am concerned about is having enough people to run it. Currently, it's just me, and 2 friends. We can probably find some fillers. But the likelihood of killing an AV at the end might be really difficult.
Out of these 4 TF's, which one do you recommend?
Faathim the Kind TF 73 merits
Justin Augustine TF 42 merits
Dr Quarterfield TF 122 merits
Sara Moore TF 64 merits
Also, if you were going to run this, can you recommend the 3 archetypes that you would bring to complete this and why? This will help us out emmensely.
Three characters to take down the AV's? hmm.... These guys are actually pretty tough - particularly Lanaru. Storm powers are always annoying. If I was hand-picking a team of 3, I'd want controllers with debuff sets and pets for damage.
No. If some LOG OUT, it will still spawn for 8. If people QUIT THE TF, it will scale down to the new numbers of players. It has been this way for quite a while now. ALL task forces will scale down as low as 2 players. If you only have one left, the TF disbands.Quote:Also a big downer will be the fact that since 8 is the default number, missions will spawn for 8 even when you only have 3 playing.
No. See above. There was a short time when they did not scale down. This was an early (and sloppy) attempt to prevent exploiting task forces (8 join, 7 log out, 1 person solos it easily, 7 log in for the final mission). This was changed so that if people QUIT the task force, it will scale down. You still need 8 to start them.Quote:However, if Ray_Ray wants to do Dr Q with a 3 man team, it's going to take some time. As I understand it, the spawn size doesn't scale down anymore. It is fixed for an 8 man team.
P.S. What server are you on? If this is on Infinity, I'd be up for any of these TF's. Also, I have 2 accounts so I could use one to pad and/or sit at the contact. -
Quote:I stopped doing this so fast once I realised that I can get the wossname badge too if I let it run out,Am I missing something? Is there a reason to avoid saying what the ambushes are? I mean, it tells you the second you enter the mission exactly what's coming.Quote:but the waves of how's-yer-fathers that appeared in the second doodad room

Quote:I agree on this. It requires a little too much organization for something that happens with no advance warning. The Banner event is... well... not bad, but it's not the best event in City of Heroes. It's certainly not something you can just hop in and enjoy. It's an impromptu trial, really, that requires coordination, leadership, and a certain critical mass of players to get going.
I don't see this at all. Even if no one broadcasts about teaming, if you go to the 'unofficial meeting spot' for that zone, there will often be a number of people already there just hitting stuff. This makes it easy to get a crowd. All you need is people that like to hit things. No discussion or planning is needed (aside from /L Can I get a team?).Quote:The Zombie invasion, while more popular than the Banner event, is still subject to the same disinterest.
I only agree for the Banner event.Quote:They, and the Rikti Invasion, need to be much more rare.
Furthermore, if they could be announced or planned in advance..... maybe occurring every hour on the hour. That way, you could plan with your friends, "Hey, let's get some teams together for a banner at 8 EST." -
It teleported away.
Or maybe what the other two guys said.

Well, assuming you were in SG mode the whole time, I would think you missed one because the server was laggy. When getting an exploration badge for the first time (so I get a notification), I've seen it take close to 10 seconds to tell me I got the badge.
So, when I'm re-getting a badge I already have for SG credit, I make sure to stand right on top of the marker for 10 seconds or so. -
Plenty. Loads of SG's will accept a new member sight unseen. I would suggest posting in the Infinity section of the forums (scroll way down on the first page to the server sections).
I'm always looking for new members, but would want to team with you for a bit before an SG invite. I have a ton of characters on Infinity, including a level 17 controller still in Praetoria.
Also, if you have questions about the game, I would suggest joining the N P C global channel set up by the Mentor Project (link in my signature).
Some good global channels for finding teams are:
Infinity Hamidon (I'm an op on this one)
Inf Badge Seeker
AE Anonymous
If you join any of the global channels I've mentioned, you can see if I'm online. My globals are '@Ironblade One' and '@Ironblade Too'.
Finally, welcome to the game.

There's an entire tab for binds but I never use it so I can't explain it.
Also, one additional useful command is: /unbind <key>
This will put the key back to the default setting. -
I'm in with Dr Dolomite, level 31 stone/stone tank.

Quote:Definitely a useful guide. My stone tank is 31 and I've started slotting IO sets. It looks like he'll end up pretty high performance although it's not cheap. I'm going to have 4 or 5 powers slotted with four IO's as follows:Great guide to speeding up your Stoner. I used some, but not all, the suggested slotting reccs, and I'm happy with a tank that doesn't need to be switching all the time.

Luck of the Gambler def/+7.5 recharge and LotG def/end
Gift of the Ancients def/+7.5 run speed and GotA def.
In four slots I'll hit ED on the defense and have +7.5% recharge, +7.5% run speed, +10% regen, +2% recovery. Not bad at all.
How many buttons does your mouse have? Mine has two extra buttons on the left side and these are 'standard'. Regular mouse drivers, Windows and CoH recognize them just fine. All my characters with Teleport have it bound to Button4. I click the extra mouse button to target, then the left button to teleport. I don't need to touch the keyboard at all. -
Quote:Also, Invulnerability tends to be more forgiving early on, in the first 20 levels or so.I felt that invuln pretty much sucked until I got SO's, while WP seemed (to me) to start off relatively strong.Quote:and it was my impression that WP was more forgiving early on, so you can see that opinions vary.
As for which is tougher in the long run, beats me. I have both invuln and WP at 50 and both have the Fighting pool. Both are really tough. I've tanked Lord Recluse with the invuln, but never tried it with the WP. Both of them (actually, most of my tanks) have tanked the ITF and did fine.
I guess it depends on what you plan to do. For 'all around tanking', I'd say WP is easier to play and more versatile. For 'extreme tanking', like Lord Recluse or multiple giant monsters, I'd say invuln. To be fair, I specifically built the invuln for extreme tanking and the WP for versatility since that was my IMPRESSION of each sets forte. -
Yeah, I went for some defense on mine. You get some to start, add in Combat Jumping, Weave and the Steadfast 3% def unique. Then with a few set bonuses, you've got some decent defense. You're probably also going to need to get set bonuses for +recovery. My dark/dark tank runs 10 toggles.
