I guess I'll bring Ironblade.
If we don't get a tank, I can bring one. I have two tanks with the level shift. -
Quote:Wham! Bam! Thank you, Imperious! What with needing shards I figure bragging about how fast you can run an ITF is like bragging about how fast you can have sex.
To brag about it on the forums?Quote:With the incarnate stuff out why would anyone want to do a speed ITF?

Quote:Wow, horrible line. Horrible! Much better if it said:From ParagonWiki:
"The character can now create a third build to utilize the Alpha Slot Ability or respec one of his other builds to take advantage of it."
http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Alpha_Slot
The character now has access to a third build so they have the option to design a build around the Alpha Slot effect.
Good.
Yes.Quote:Slight thread jack, does the Pocket D anti-teleport field prevent slotting of the alpha as well? -
Quote:I'm heartbroken.Come on... if you're running Apex or something and can't figure out how to use 3 entire power choices to make your character better, I'm a little disappointed.
This falls under the category of "Mind your own business and don't worry about my build." If I've done something crazy like take only the first power from my secondary, or take 4 travel powers, then MAYBE it's reasonable for you to comment. If my build works and you're just going to quibble about specific power choices, then take a hike. -

Quote:Well, I've run 3 tanks through the ITF so far and ran my emp through it last night. Based on what's listed above, I'm leaning toward a sonic defender.Well, my empathy defender needs the component from this TF. Or I can bring a tank if we don't have one.

Quote:My theory is that prices are driven up by people who are extremely impatient or sloppy in their typing. This fits with the old saying, "Never attribute to malice what can be explained by stupidity."See how my theory explains the exact same thing, but without anyone being an evil jerk trying to ruin your day? We can't prove which theory is more likely or more accurate. You can choose to believe you're surrounded by jerks who are ripping you off, or you can choose to believe that market fluctuations are just as random as loot drops.

Quote:Well, from the thread title, my first thought was that recharge is golden *IF* you're talking about a set that really benefits from it. Dark Armor, for example, has the biggest self-heal in the game. With invuln, you get decent defense starting off. Building on that will really help. Soft-capping shouldn't be too hard, then you can look at recharge.Working on my INV/DM Tank and I'm trying to decide which direction to take his build. The most popular route is of course soft capping his S/L and E/N defense with 1-2 critters in Invinc, but I was wondering if a +recharge build would be just as effective.
Definitely the HO. You're getting +20% def, +20% to hit, +33% endred. No IO even comes close to those numbers. -

You can go to the SG/VG Registrar in Atlas Park / Port Oakes and convert influence to prestige. The exchange rate, at 500:1, is horrible. He's offering to match the amount you are converting to prestige. So, if you convert 100 million inf to 200,000 prestige, he'll contribute a similar amount. So your exchange rate effectively becomes 250:1.
Before you ask the next question: Yes, he's basically giving away free money.

Quote:Yep. I'll usually log into a toon that needs to do some stuff at Wentworths and watch the global channels while I'm there. When I see an ITF being formed, by someone whose name I recognize and have teamed with previously, then I'll go for it.I've been on a few ITFs this week with snotty teams. Also seen a lot of folks asking to join "non-speed" ITFs perhaps for the same reason. Regular mission teaming and non-WST-TF's are absolutely fine. If you're looking to do WST content, it might be worth being picky about your team. After all - there's a LOT of players running the various TFs.

Quote:Interestingly, for a lot of us who have been following subscriber numbers for a long time, going back to when NCSoft published numbers - that 125,000 number seems surprisingly high. If it really is that high (I'm skeptical), this is extremely good news.Maybe its bias, giggles, but I would have thought CoH would have more than a mere 125K players. I would like to learn more on how the statistic was collected, so its true meaning can be better understood.
It seems the statistics for some of the games are solely U.S. data, while others are global in nature, not sure my perception is correct.
It still concerns me that CoH is 125,000 players, seems kinda low to me. -
Quote:Sands of Mu is great on a tank, though, since you're likely to have enemies clustered around you. All you need is some boost to accuracy/to hit since you can't slot the power. I love it for my invuln. If there's enough enemies near him to be worth it, then there's enough enemies near him to buff his odds to hit.A level 50 Scrapper that's regularly using Nem Staff/Blackwand in their attack chain (as a melee attack) probably has serious issues (or a very exotic build). Shadow Maul could situationally be worth it (due to the AoE nature, for a set heavily lacking in AoE... like EM/ Stalkers).

Quote:I'm glad that you're familiar with the character database structure so you know the decision to handle it this way was based on favoritism, rather than any pesky details like data integrity, costs, etc.I don't care how small the numbers are for conflicts.
Any move by a business that shows preference to one group of customers over another, to the point where the business is admitting they're deliberately showing a preference, will cause a drop of morale in the 'victim' group. -
The math doesn't lie, but it can be misunderstood. The fact that the number of EU players is smaller is completely irrelevant to the discussion. If there are 500 name conflicts, then 500 EU players and 500 NA players are involved. Kindly explain how 500 EU players is less than 500 NA players.

Quote:Oh, I wasn't saying most, or even many, were acting like that. But the original post definitely fits the bill.Despite your later point, very few posters here have been 'yelling and threatening'. Theres been a lot of 'We are not satisfied with this' and requests for it to get looked at and hopefully changed.
But none of the 'toys out of the pram' that you seem to see. -
Wow. If I had seen that, I would have filed a petition myself. When that kind of abuse is on broadcast, everyone seeing it has a valid reason to file a petition.

tsk tsk

Awesome comic! So, since you're mentioning it, take the opportunity to introduce new readers to it by linking to the comic site.

And with the 'per storage unit' granularity on the permission settings, you can do what I did. I have a VG that I bought that I was using for storage and some alts. A couple of friends asked if they could leave their inactive toons in that SG so they would still have access to teleporters, storage, worktables, etc. I just made one Enhancement Table accessible to top 2 ranks only (me) and everything else is accessible to everyone.

When this has happened to me, we have always been able to continue the TF by trying the following:
1) Have other people try to call the contact, particularly if you can remember who had the star before.
2) Have the leader log out and back in.
3) As a last resort, have EVERYONE log out and back in.
