When you say "minimum system requirements", I hope you're not going by what NCSoft says is required to play the game. The last time I looked at that, the hardware they described was woefully inadequate - and the trials are some of the most demanding content in the game.
Edit: Just went and looked up the requirements they list. For the minimum, they list a Pentium 3 and 512MB of RAM. I'll reconfirm that this is WOEFULLY inadequate. Their 'recommended' system has a dual core and 2GB of RAM. I would consider that a minimum, assuming you want to do anything that will actually challenge your hardware (like the iTrials). -
Good thing! If you told us you had to miss it due to another family reunion, I was going to tell you that you need to transfer to a smaller (or less friendly) family.

I'm sure some people would be.
I recall a base raid way back when to get the Power Liberator badge (my SG was one of several that were raiding to get the badge). The items of power had been 'removed', but some were missed. Someone paid to transfer to Infinity to get the badge and paid to transfer back 'home' afterward. $20 for a badge. -
It's only 3 sentences long. If you can't even imagine how any part of it might be perceived as a personal attack, then any attempt to point it out to you is guaranteed to be a waste of time.

Quote:While I do disagree with your opinion, it was the sweeping generalization that I was characterizing as BS.I'm sorry if I've pushed your buttons. That wasn't my intention. I'm trying to respectfully and politely present my viewpoint. I believe I've presented, and will continue to present, enough support for my opinion that it shouldn't be dismissed as "total BS," even if you do disagree with it.
Quote:I don't agree with your assessment. Knockback absolutely protects enemies far more than teammates. -
I believe that expression is specific to the USA and the British equivalent would be 'Regimental'.

Quote:This statement is so broad as to be almost meaningless.Diversity of content is the key to reaching a wider audience. I think it's fairly well documented on these forums that not everyone likes the Trials style of play.
I think it is exceptionally well documented on these forums that EVERY system or aspect of the game has SOMEONE that doesn't like it. So, yes, not everyone likes the Trials style of play. So what? -
Paying real money for anything in-game (except payments to NCSoft) is prohibited and can get your account banned.
I guess Vivian is trying to be funny? -

Quote:As a general statement (the way you are presenting it), this is false. In teams, the mitigation provided to players via knockback is infinitesimal compared to the mitigation already present from buffs, debuffs, taunts and controls. Any player mitigation is far outweighed by the mitigation knockback provides to the enemies who are now temporarily safe from at least part of the team's powers.
Knockback depends strongly on the circumstances and there are plenty of situations where the benefit to the team VASTLY outweighs the benefit to the enemies.
If you don't like knockback, fine. But to say that the benefits are "infinitesimal" and that it benefits the enemies more than teammates is total BS. -
These vendors are in Ouroboros? Is that near Atlas Park?

You know.... I read this thread title as 'Brass Monkey' and clicked on it out of curiosity.

Firstly, I had a character who used Hurdle + Combat Jumping as his travel power BEFORE we had either of the jump packs. His performance and speed in getting to missions was entirely acceptable. Now, with Ninja Run and two jump packs, this is completely a non-issue for me. I have MANY characters who skip a travel power.
As for the Raptor Pack expiring, you're aware you can buy a new one any time you want for just 10,000 inf, right? -
Hey, everyone has their own opinion. I thought your first post was both abrasive and a personal attack.

Quote:Oh, that's a really good line. Not only are the people who don't have any problems only 'claiming' to not have problems, the 'fact' is that the people with problems outnumber the 'liars' by two to one. Nice weasel line!for every one person that claims to not have any problems with leagues, i can for a fact find two people that do on a regular basis.
The real fact is that some people have problems and some don't. This suggest that:
1) The software is not 'playing nice' with something else on the computer - something that most people aren't running.... or
2) The trials put too much stress on marginal computers.
I think number 2 is the more likely explanation. It's pretty widely accepted that the Lambda warehouse map takes too much processing power to render. By 'too much', I mean significantly more than other areas in the game. By that standard, I agree it's 'broken' and should be fixed. Anyone who can run a task force should be able to run Lambda Sector since you'll usually only have 8 people on the map with you. -

And someone who might be completely new to online games is supposed to base that common sense on WHAT experience? You can't have 'common' sense if you have zero knowledge in a field.
And what are you so angry about? Yikes. How about this: if you think new players are stupid, maybe you should just avoid them and let someone who can talk to them politely deal with them. -
Quote:I would imagine that they simply don't use the cargo transporters to move people unless it's a life-or-death situation. They *DO* have cargo transporters. They were located on decks 10 and 23 on the original Enterprise. Also, deck 8 had 3 emergency transporter rooms with 22 pads each. Then the JLA must have Teleporters that put anything from Star Trek to shame. I don't recall more than say a dozen or so being Teleported at any one time in trek
(I just checked the blueprints.)

Really? Really? A bigger person wouldn't have the urge to post things they've "heard". Have you ever actually DONE A TRIAL with her? I have. No problems and I would gladly do so again.

All other things being equal, brutes do not hold aggro better than tankers. Also, they do not have as high survivability.
Remain calm, citizen. -
Offhand, I can only think of a couple of reasons to take the 'Titan O'.
1) You have a character with XP turned off who is going to stay in that level range forever (for whatever reason - merit random rolls, having access to your favorite Safeguard mission, etc).
2) Novelty value. Particularly if you already have thousands of merits. -
Quote:And storage is dirt cheap and getting cheaper every year. This means all they have to do in code is swap the 36 cap to 48, 60, etc. the only other issue is the storage space to store all these extra characters.
Quote:But why *can't* you branch out to other servers? I have *never* gotten this argument.
RP? Take the RP with you. It's the Rper, not the server, that makes for good (or not) RP.
Bases? They don't take that long to build up, and starting a new base - hey, try a new direction without messing up the existing one.
Your friends? Take them with you, and make some new ones. Start a "superteam" or "theme team" to get those initial characters leveled... and, while you're at it, get prestige for the base.
Your INF is on certain characters? We have gleemail. No messing with the market any more to try to transfer it.
Branch out a bit! (Plus, if there's ever an issue with your home server, you have somewhere else to play, too.)
And the other arguments really aren't relevant.
SG bases? Sure, I have functional bases on Freedom, Virtue and Pinnacle and am in SG's with my brother on Justice and Triumph. So that covers the 'branching out' aspect also.
AND I already have two accounts - for the simple reason that one account didn't allow enough slots per server. I got the second account before we could buy extra slots.
CURRENTLY, I'm not running out of slots on Infinity. But I will. And I want to be able to have more than 36. Ideally, I'd like to make all my new toons on my first account since it has more vet rewards.
