And our TEAM didn't get ganked. Our defender and controllers were constantly oneshotted.

    [/ QUOTE ]

As a controller I have noticed that the stalkers will always look for me on a team, when I was on a team of 2 tankers, 2 scrappers and me, the stalker would always bypass them and go straight for me every time seems they are most interested in the cheap kill.

    [/ QUOTE ]

As was said, this is tactics. If you're on your feet, they will soon be off theirs. If you don't want to be a priority target then either find away to be invisible or roll a scrapper or tank. I would always target heros controller>defender>blaster>scrappre>t ank. Unless the defender had proved he was a pain in the fundament already - in that case he might overtake the controller.

Haven't worked out what order to take villains don in yet. I would guess at corrupter, dominator, mastermind, brute with stalkers going down whenever they are visible if they hide successfully or not being a priority if they don't. But I would also want to try and put the brute on ice to prevent a fury build.... hmmm: I want a new thread to discuss it... To the PVP forums, Interlink, Away!

IIRC Repel was metioned specifically as having had it's end cost reduced in addition to the across the board reduction... but as I said I haven't re-taken it yet (what with having just unlocked fulcrom shift and all (sweeeeeeeet)

    Brute battles

    [ QUOTE ]

As everyone has said, toggle drops are the killers, though end drain works very well too.

Kinetics debuffs are nasty for a brute, as every single one of us who has tried building fury on the blue ink men (it's something everyone tries once) in Sirens will attest to.

    [/ QUOTE ]

First PVP experience in BB indicated that Brutes really hate siphon speed. Its almost sad to watch them running at me VERY SLOWLY. Then meeting energy blasts going the other way.

Having said that the team that attacked us got fed dirt 3 times before I had to log and when one of them did get close I was a bit scared of incoming toggle drops or stuns. And we did have an empath and a couple of flying blasters.

I'm not saying it was a fair fight... but they started it (3 times )

Looking forward to further debuffing opportunities any time someone offers me a chance to join a team.
  6. I suddenly got offensive at level 32 this last week

Mr. Fulcrum Shift is your friend (but curses on the damage cap!)
  7. Mr 5p Krz is now very angry at you for bringing the spambot-demons down on him.

ZOMG and similar.. where the krutz does the Z come from?

Don't like it on my defender, but it has had it's endurance cost dropped since I respecced it out (within a week ).

But what I wanted to say was: Take Kinetics. Brutes + kinetics seem to be a match made in heaven, and my CoV main is a Brute.

    That is all.
  10. Nearest thing I have to an escape power is desperately hitting one person to try and pound a green out of them before I go down Once I have my Fury I dont care where my health bar is - I'm fighting!

Hmmm hadn't thought of Rad, should have really, rad or kin corruptor then, Kin for the boosts on you and the decent level of healing/damage gain and rad for the extra layer of saftey, and effectively giving your def and res through reducing acc and dam.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Kinetics doesn't doo accuracy debuff - it debuffs speed. I look forward to teaming with a /kin corruptor. My CoH main is Kin so i have a damn fine idea what to expect, and I expect sweetness with a great deal of extra smash!
  12. Spirit tree is apparently getting upgraded on test in US maybe here too
  13. I'm liking my soft control - i have the odd disorent duration slot as well. So far haven't needed attacks beyond bone smasher and build up, won't be getting whirling hands or taunt for a while probably.
  14. Idris (assume you are the same one just joined the Seekers),
En/En is definitely not a gimp set. At least to level 11 it is perfectly playable. But not if you try to tank. A brute cannot stand there and take it all on the chin forever like a tank can - you have to put opponents down fast. Build up fury quickly by using brawl and your lowest power couple of attacks (rapid recharge + low endurance cost) then start hammering things into the ground. Don't pause between mobs and let Fury go down.

Oh and slotting for disorient duration can help with large mobs too.

Or possibly people have unreasonably (from dev's PoV) high expectations for what they should be able to take on.

Smooth Operator, you're a cruel cruel man
Then again, if it works, work it!

Being a holier-than-thou controller, there is nothing more fun than holding some new Leeroy Jenkins impersonator in a chainhold, then taking my time to reply to him in the local chat, giving out a few lengthy lines about how they should have reconsidered attacking an uninterested squishy, and so forth, blah blah blah...
...but then not actually giving them the KO. Just hold them a few more times, bow politely, laugh, then leave

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ooh.. monologueing! If I encounter this I must remembe to use the time to send out /tells to recruit some (more)teammates
  16. PVP accuracy nerf just means a one slot difference as you add another +acc SO. But if you don't have that you will be in trouble.

I agree that 4 scrappers vs a fully shielded en/ brute is going to be a recipe for pain, especially if you miss. Every miss makes the brute hit you harder until they are effectively doing better than scrapper criticals every blow. En melee will result in a lot of stuns taking your toggles down and if you don't drop the Brute's, well, ouch.

My guess is you got a cocktail of having non-pvp builds, the wrong tactics and bad luck.

  19. Get out of SG mode. Short answer.
  20. Interlink

    What a joke!!!

However, assuming the base cost calculator was right on costs, aux items provide as much oomph (for power and control) as the basic generators do in the first place, but cost much less.....
  21. Is anyone else considering slotting brawl? Seriously. I'm considering getting more slots in it for recharge time and the attack speed reduction thing. I don't really care if it hits or not, I just want it go go off. Often.

I use other powers to SMASH!

    Functional bases

I like it the way it is. Our SG (Seekers of Intrinity) is currently mostly playing in the rogue isles, but a few of us (slowly increasing) are working out butts off to earn prestige to get the base up and running. The ongoing challenge, goal and community spirit feeling this is giving me beats any experience I have had so far from the game (except winning our first match in S4 - that put me so high it ought to be illegal).
  23. How does it stack up against scrapper sets?

I'm curious. En/En brute is my first villain and had to be this because of concept. Brute is not a direct transplant of the tank, just the nearest approximation. Therefore I wouldn't expect it to be as good at tanking (though I would expect better at hitting things).

    PvP Complainers

    [ QUOTE ]
People dont say that it should be easier to run through the hollows.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes they do. This is in fact the major complaint about the Hollows. :P
  25. There needs to be some sort of safe zone so that you don't get ganked as soon as you arrive. Consider an 8 man team with different connection/processor speeds arriving one at a time with each successive member finding a hostile 8 man team and a pile of his friends' corpses as soon as the zone loads....
