  1. And here I thought I made the news... GLHF
  2. I don't care for the 'asking ppl for influence' at the market idea for this, but sort of like the idea of a panhandler RPing, not that I'd do that.

But since you only need 1 influence to get going, I like my idea of using a Police Drone to kill a mugger and reaping the reward from the saved victim idea. I guess in a way that could be seen as RPing (darnit), since I saved someone from dooooom. Wait no... I'm a greedy marketeer and I was running past her, not wanting to help, but they guys followed me anyway and got themselves 'droned'! Yep, that's better.

There was a 'kill' involved, but I did no damage nor did I get the kill, but I got rewarded. That 7 influence quickly became 70,000 after buying 7 lvl 50 orange recipes for 1/ea and vendoring them. After that I worked on gaining more salvage storage.

As far as only 1 transaction slot, according to Wiki, after 250 'sells', you get your 2nd slot. After moving 50 pieces of salvage (3 at a pop) you gain 2 to salvage storage. I know it'll be slow, but I plan to give it an hour a night for awhile. I did make her a PB, so at least I could fly (at lvl 1) to places I want to be

People with the 66 month Vet Reward will have it much easier if they claim their reward for that badge... 6 months away for me tho
  3. I blame this thread for trying to keep my interest until i16 hits... I made myself a new toon, on a server I don't play on, to try this out. I took the idea from Case_Anarchy for my initial funds and varied it slightly. I found a hostage in Atlas and lured her muggers to a Police Drone. She was grateful and gave me 7 influence! I then took a couple hours to start my new adventure. Hopefully I'll be able to keep track of some of the things I do and can report later... unless I lose interest...
  4. Bah you're right and that was even said earlier about needing inf to put something up for sale... my bad, I was thinking too fast! I thought I had a winner!
  5. If Wiki is right (since I forgot to check last night in-game) and Merit Vendors sell Large Inspirations for 1 Merit a piece... add in the 60 month Vet Reward giving you 5 Merits = a nice little chunk of start-up cash

Reminder: Blue side, red side, double-digit servers... there's only one Market for them all. You don't have to be logged into a specific place to have access to these offers. You just have to be quick. If you try to bit on an item for a cost of 1 and it doesn't immediate let you buy, someone else got there first!

    [/ QUOTE ]

FYI, Blue side and Red side are separate markets.
  7. Do we get a deal if we have 2 accounts join? If so maybe I'll resub my 2nd acct.
  8. One thing they could do to at least fix the 'AFK' part of arena farming is to have random respawn points after a death. People could still farm arena, but not while AFK.
  9. Any link to where this discussion from Positron exists? I'm not sure where to start looking, a thread? an interview? the City Scoop?

    Thx in advance.

To be honest I've never really liked the idea of these badges in the first place. They are clearly "player" badges that don't have anything to do with the individual characters themselves. I think of them this way: Why would Superman get a badge for the anniversary of the founding of Metropolis? The anniversary of Metropolis has nothing directly to do with anything Superman did so why give him a badge for it? Thus based on my reasoning that these badges are semi-pointless to characters anyway the Devs might as well make them account based.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I can definitely see that I, indeed, am in the minority, but will quick reply anyway I think I disagree with what you say here. I think they're definitely character based and NOT player based. The character gets the Anniversary badge because he/she was present during this time. Players get Vet badges for simply being players.

I feel, as they are currently, they make certain characters unique. Granted I could be bias as my badger has all Anniversary badges. I don't, however, see how a character made today would have celebrated the past 5 years of something's existence.

Those are just my thoughts. I sort of see both sides of the story, and this is simply mine Thanks.
  11. I imagine lvl 33 was suggested because, like you said, PVPers using them in Sirens Call. I don't know how busy that place is anymore though, so that idea may be a dead one.
  12. Infinity_Havoc

    Damn Market!!

I'd wait for the weekend as well. Also, I almost always try buying the lowest level unique as possible, so 30 Numina. I'm at work atm, but think lvl 20 Miracles and 25 LotG's might be worth more than the Numinas. GL!

    trailer looks nice too.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The game, as it is, doesn't do that trailer justice, here's hoping for some good change with this expansion.
  14. Is this where Heroes become Villains and Villains become Heroes? This is the first I've heard of Going Rogue

Edit: just found another thread.. yep, changing sides.. cool!
  15. I want to mention that yesterday I was in the Arena and got some plays on my arc, per the 'you got 25 tickets from someone playing your arc' in my chat window. Right after that i got 'Unknown command:/tell' in my chat window... so I think someone may have left a comment but I never got it! (because you don't get Tells in arena)

I sent in a Bug report on this and posted in forums today. If it was anyone from here, from yesterday (Sunday 5-10) I don't know that you did it and I won't be able to pay you back

Other than these couple from yesterday, I've played all that play mine, fyi. Maybe, hopefully, it was a random player leaving me a good comment! Thanks.
  16. I've noticed while in an Arena fight, in my top chat window it will tell me that someone played my AE Story Arc, rated it and how many tickets I got ...like normal. Shortly after, in my top chat box, will be an error saying (I believe) "Unknown command:/tell".

The first time it happened, I was 'Hidden' to everything but invites. I thought that may have something to do with it, but the next time I was UNhidden from everything but searches, fyi.

I've also logged out and back in since, thinking maybe they'd show up then, but no-go.

I know that you can't get /tells while in Arena, but this is making me think that someone is leaving a Comment on my Story Arc and I am not getting it!

I did a few searches for these key words on the forums and didn't find anything. I don't frequent this part of the forum much, so hope it hasn't been covered. I did /bug it last night and hope that if this is what's happening, it can be fixed.

If I should post this in another area, please advise, thanks.
  17. I wouldn't see why this would help break the Ratings system. If it has the same number and someone who played the 'old version' then plays the new one, they wouldn't be able to rate it. So he gains nothing in that respect as far as I see.

A side question, do you know what would happen to your 4-digit number if you unpublish it? Does that number get put into a pool to be used again or trashed? Hmm.
  18. That is indeed a good thing.

How about if the creator is online, and someone plays his/her arc and doesn't rate it when done. Will the creator have anything come up in their chat box? Or will the creator never know someone played it, except I suppose as progress on the one badge. Thx.
  19. I wonder if they could explain a little better how to use the Rating system in that Arc Completed window. I'm sure not everyone's on the same page with the current system. Is ONE star or FIVE stars better? Most will think 5, but not all.

I had, I think, a new player of the game play my arc (I assume because of no Vet rewards). I helped him/her figure out how to search for my arc, how to start it and where the portal was. He/she seemed very nice and pleased via those tells and the Comment left afterwards was very positive and appreciative. At the same time, in my chat pops up 'someone voted on arcname' or whatever the line is. So I'm lead to believe he/she rated it a 1-2.

Also, it might be neat to have a button to see all the ratings we've received. Not to include any names, just how many 1's, 2's, 3's, etc. we've received.
  20. I just want to mention that this thread is working pretty well. This weekend I did 9 arcs and received 7 back so far.

Also, for anyone who didn't do mine yet, if you do mine before I do yours (and put your arc # in the comment), I'll use 2 accounts and get you 2 ratings! **this offer only valid during the reactivation period of Anniversary 5 because I have a dead account that should be back**

    Arc #62157 -lvls 1-14, 4 short missions.

PS. This is my 2nd post in the thread so you may have done it already, fyi!
  21. Here's hoping this is working as planned for all of you. I may not return the favor until Friday night and into the weekend, but I have a notepad at my computer to write down your arc #s.

Mine is a 4-part, levels 1-14 arc. All missions are small maps and can be done quickly if you want it to be. I know BeefCake has already done it and I have done his. Maybe others have too, dunno. Thanks badgers!

    #62157 Virtual Hero Simulator
  22. I made a pretty easy arc (62157) for new characters a few days ago because of this thread! Please check it out if you'd like; I'd appreciate it very much!

  23. Volley 113 from the New Guy? I hope it's okay that I join in... I just found this thing!
  24. 30. @Lord Damnation 1 now = @Brad D if it matters.

    ty, please drive thru
  25. Because honestly, would you STAND in fire?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Would I? No. But I can't fly, set myself on fire without taking damage, generate a patch of ice below me without a large investment of money and time. While we're at it if a guy in spandex jumped off the top of a building and walked/leaped toward me I'd run away, if I wasn't just staring at him going "Whaa". Now add in him throwing chunks of ice, bolts of energy, or wielding a large battle ax and I would most likely either be running away screaming like a little girl, or curled up in a ball crying. I however am not a minion for a criminal group in a world where those kinds of things are common place.

LetÂ’s assume I am. I have just received the insight needed not to stand in a patch of fire, and to instead run away. What else should I be smart enough to do....

I stress again give me 1 good reason that someone would stay in hand to hand with a guy that only has a sword when he and all of his friends have guns? If you can't come up with a good reason that doesn't involve, well it would make all scrapers useless then take the fear away from burn.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Buji.. great great great post.. please go up a few posts if you haven't read this one; it's not only funny and sarcastic.. but oh so true. If the devs don't read this post and say HMPF, he's got a point, what the heck are we doing... I'll be surprised. Burn is fine the without added Fear.. minimize the damage to make it less effective as a single mob killer.. but don't add Fear!
