There is a solution though--compromise.
[/ QUOTE ]
Most scrappers already compromise. Rather than forcing the team to charge in at the exact same time as us to maximize the chaos, we compromise by letting them lag a few seconds behind before joining in the glorious carnage.
Meet us half way here, otherwise I'll just go back to demanding full team blitzes on every spawn when I run TFs. Those damn squishies need to grow a pair and join in the fun, they really kill my chaos/time ratio hanging back like that. -
I vastly prefer redside content even if it is a little hit or miss at times.
Hero contacts on the other hand make me hope that the trigger for "Going Rogue" will be us strangling them to death with their cellphone chargers. -

That's right, it's not on a plaque, it was something a pedestrian said. Meaning it's even less of a secret....
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm not sure I'd take something a pedestrian said as canon, it could be intended as a widely accepted rumor, not necessarily fact. -
[ QUOTE ]
Semantics. A stalker's power is called an Assassination, but there is absolutely nothing stating stalkers are incapable of delivering incapacitating strikes instead.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's my feeling on most of these sort of debates. Bringing lore into an RP discussion can be productive, but bringing mechanical nuances, especially something as frivolous as a power name, is just silly. -
[ QUOTE ]
As soon as someone joins a team I am on and insists on (()) all the time, I always magically DC.
[/ QUOTE ]
((That seems like a very silly reason to DC, does it work on the forums too?)) -
Pass along our thanks for everything Mids has done, I know he's added a lot to my CoH experience, and thank you for taking up the torch, I personally wouldn't be against a caped crusading panda
-
This certainly makes me glad I don't play squishies anymore.

[ QUOTE ]
Yep - just read this and I do sound like a jerk.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not really, you do sound like someone I wouldn't want to team with though.
I personally think being able to decline specific buffs is a great idea, CoH just isn't a challenging enough game where we need to have this "Everyone must give 100%" mentality.
If we could finally refuse Ice Shields, *I* could stop being a jerk and stop actively avoiding Cold characters when forming teams. -

I've been away from the game for a couple months. What about the MA was being exploited? What happened and what change was made?
[/ QUOTE ]
People were farming rikti comm officers, which are worth significant amounts of xp and are virtually no challenge when made into their own group with no other rikti (only one comm officer summons a portal per spawn). People were leveling from 1 to 50 in hours off of them.
Between that and some less exploitable farms that have been cropping up the devs did a couple things:
- Reduce Rikti Comm Officer XP
- Locked access to characters that excessively abused them as an exploit (Although I have yet to meet anyone who had this happen)
- Capped the amount of tickets gainable in a single mission to 1500, personally I have yet to hit this cap despite doing a lot of AE, but apparently some people are more bothered by it. -

Do enough Evil Acts and you're not allowed in Paragon anymore (You become a villain under the new system) If you agree that the act of raising and using corpses is an evil act then you agree that to do so repeatedly will eventually earn you the enmity of Paragon City, and a boot to the Rogue Isles (As per the alignment system set up)

There are far more ways to justify summoning the dead to fight for the cause of righteousness than there are to justify "arresting" someone with a flamethrower.
The ignorant populace would definitely make a stink about a necro hero, but the people giving out the IDs shouldn't have a problem with them when they already have an entire brigade of Longbow wackjobs incinerating and blowing up criminals without any discretion. -

Norp: "There's a Glarb over there, looks pretty Narb. Looks like Glars are Narb. I don't like Narb things, so I won't try any more Glarbs."
Gorp: "Well... there's a Glarb right over there that isn't Narb... maybe if you try another Glarb, it won't be Narb?"
Norp: "FLARGLEFARB!"

Awesome. -
It seems alive and well to me, maybe it has Revive?

Sorry, I shouldn't be allowed to post on Mondays.
The badge idea is solid, and honestly should have been its own post because it's totally unrelated to incarnates. One of my biggest gripes playing my Peacebringer was that the biggest thing I brought to the team was larger spawns, giving those spawns a badge would essentially be a consolation prize, but a good one at that. -
[ QUOTE ]
- - - Incarnates - - -
Incarnate as an origin type aren't available to players for whatever reason the devs decided. Statesman and Recluse are the most well known, but there's also Imperious, Trapdoor (from a villain experiment gone wrong), the unnamed woman who gave birth to the Snakes, and Ms. Liberty / Miss Liberty from the Girdle of Hera. Others may be out there, but that's all I can think of at the moment off the top of my head.
[/ QUOTE ]
While we're at it, why don't we add:
A "Crey Experiment" EAT to cover people that like Synapse.
A "Psionic Mutant" EAT to cover Sister Psyche fans.
A "Spoiled Trust-fund Baby" EAT to cover Manticore.
And so on and so forth... -
Shadow Fane uses 2 slotted hurdle with combat jumping and is easily faster than a capped flyer. Most travel-powerless builds I've seen have similar workarounds.
-
Just be sure not to use your Mission Teleporter while inside a mission.
You'll tear a small hole in the fabric of time/space, and the Menders will be [censored]. -
Personally I find avoiding optional allies a little immersion breaking as I generally have to barrel past them and kill their spawn outside of sight of them which just feels way too gamey when I'm trying to enjoy a story.
In any case optional or no, allies should really only be there if the story calls for it. If the mission is too hard for most characters without them then it is probably time to tone down the mission.
When allies are included I personally highly appreciate when they're lieutenant only (ideally with a defense set so they stay alive better). I can't stand being paired up with an elite boss who is not only stealing rewards, but also showing my character up in a story that theoretically is supposed to be player centric.
Just my 2 cents in any case. -
[ QUOTE ]
In many games, its possible to just throw everyone into the deep end of the pool, but in this game specifically the playerbase is generally unreceptive to it.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think this is the big thing, even in games where the community supports such a mindset it is debatable if it is really such a good idea. There will always be people on the fence about PvP and when the choice is between "not participating" and "being tossed head first into a potentially empty pool" Most of these sort of players will choose the former even if they might ultimately enjoy the PvP experience had they tried it. -
I'll go against the grain and say I actually think this idea is kinda cool. With the right controls it could add a lot, I would say having a command to ignore a specific character's banter (but no other channels) would be almost required though.
-
Helping someone with grammar is always good so long as you aren't a big meanie head about it.

[ QUOTE ]
Caveat: if you exemp to a level more than three levels lower than the IO (or lower than the level at which you took the power it is slotted in), you lose the benefit. Therefore, getting the lowest level +stealth IO you can reasonably attain is usually preferable unless you never exemp, including going into lower level PvP zones.
[/ QUOTE ]
I was under the impression that as a proc, the stealth IO's level was essentially meaningless (aside from who is able to slot it), is this not the case? -
Minigames are always nice, I wouldn't want to see a huge amount of dev time put into it, but if it was easy I'd be completely for it.

[ QUOTE ]
OP has a point. If I'm a good brute at level 40, why would I go back to the rogue isles to work for one of the patrons to unlock the PPPs?
[/ QUOTE ]
That's my thinking on the matter.
Depending on how far they take the whole "shades of gray" and what not, this may become inescapable regardless. -
This one is kind of a "duh", but yeah I really hope they add this soon. I15 is supposed to have a bunch of improvements to MA so here's hoping.
