I'm sorry, call me dense, but why would they?

Quote:The new forums give us a great deal of creative freedom the last ones did not. We no longer need someone to open our pics for us, so we can post PICS not links !!
- Post your coolest i13 Rooms
- Post your coolest i13 items
- Post your base pics here
- Post your bar images here
- Post your sexy base pics
- Post your sexy (small) base pics
- i13 base creations
- Any good bases out there
Quote:I really like the base showcase article on the Scoop. It's more of a spotlight on a base that's got something special going for it.

Quote:THISThe only thing I can see that I don't really care for is that there is no option to add this to the Subscribed Forums as I can the other sections of the Development section.
I'm assuming that this is due to it being a modified Search and not a Forum in the normal sense of vbb Forums. Since it also isn't a thread, it can't be added to Subscribed Threads.
Would it be possible to instead create a Forum under Development called Digests or something similar that contains just these two items? That would give us a Forum (in the vbb sense of a Forum) that we can put in Subscribed Forums.
Otherwise, I'm likely going to have to keep using the player created Digest page due to simplicity.
Sorry Niv. I know it took some doing just to get these set up, but putting them in their own forum would be most helpful.
Once I realized I couldn't put them in my subscribe list, I promptly returned to the digest that Devian set up: http://cohdigest.appspot.com/ -
I'm a lot like Heraclea, except that I tend to craft items that may be profitable.
I see the market as a tool to get the IO sets that I want for my characters. It's easy to make inf along the way, but wealth in and of itself is just numbers.
Since my approach is to use the market as a tool for acquiring product, my usage varies according to each toon's situation. A lower toon will engage in a bit of flipping (including salvage from AE tix), while my higher toons tend to do more crafting. And yes, I could simply transfer inf to my lower toons, but I enjoy the aspect of playing/earning at various levels. -
P_B pretty much covered it in a nutshell.
On day jobs, I believe some of those temp powers are rechargeable, so it's not like once you use them, they're gone forever. P-wiki has an overview article as well as a nifty day job chart. -
Negescape, you are giving tanks a bad name.
Thankfully, most tank players I know do not share your attitude. They can lead or follow leadership as the situation needs. The fact that you seem to insist that everyone, including the leader if it's not you, should play YOUR way tells me that you are inflexible and most likely less competent than other tank players. A competent tank can adjust to any given situation on any given team....
...let me amend that statement...
In CoH, a competent player of any AT can adjust to any given situation on any given team. Complaining that other players are incompetent does not excuse YOU.

What ever happened to the "z-axis tool" idea?
Using the floor & lamp technique is a nifty workaround, BUT... It's still a bit tricky to place things directly on top of each other, or place one thing in a particular position on top of another, since you can't see through the floor from the topside. -
Most of the sounds I'm familiar with are buzzes, hums, & beeps... even for the magic items. No gurgles that I can think of.
As for annimations, you've hit most of the ones that are pretty obvious, but a subtle one that I like is the sway of the trees. -
Unfortunately, there is not a way to actually rename the storage items (racks, inspie bins, tables, etc.).
What a lot of folks do is use insignias and color coded banners to indicate the type of storage a unit contains.
For our storage racks, I have a white "C" banner (3 racks), a yellow "U" banner (2 racks) and an orange-red "R" banner (1 rack).
The trick to using banners this way is keeping track of which types you've used. If you touch/move them in edit mode, all the same types will change to whatever SG logo/color settings you have at the moment. For instance, if you move a "small tech 1" banner, it and any other "small tech 1" banners will all change.
I also wish there was an easier way to organize the storage, even an alphabetizing function would be helpful.

Quote:Ahhhh - hah! Thanks for that. Lernt sumthin new.Paragon Protectors use a completely different MOG than players. Theirs drops them to 10% hp with somewhere in the ballpark of 90%+ res (I've never tested it in game and I don't know what their Melee_Res_Dmg table looks like) that lasts for 45s.
Huh, I always thought their MOG had the standard 2-3 min duration.
Nevertheless, I have found MOG on my claws/regen scrapper to be quite useful, especially against EB/AV's. -
Or, for those who are not inclined to play the AE, lock down a toon at the level you want for certain drops (turn off xp), then play your regular mishes. With super speedy lowbie leveling coming down the pike, I suspect this will become even more necessary in the future.
The main disadvantage with this is storage. I would rather see the SG storage capacity raised a bit, even up to 100 pieces would be helpful (remember, they used to be 2500). -
I can't find it now, but I could swear I recently read somewhere that the CoH time cards were being phased out and only the game cards would be available.
Could explain their scarcity. -
Believe it or not, 15 seconds can be a long time. Ever played against a Paragon Protector? There are 2 types, claws & blaster, one has "unstoppable" and one has "moment of glory". When they hit those powers, it becomes a tedious takedown... those few extra can seconds seem like forever.

Quote:Actually, the forum administrators can disable the rep system completely. The only viable solution to fixing the rep system that's ever going to genuinely work is, frankly... switching it off in your UserCP. That's it.
Given that they disabled a similar system on the old forums, I really don't understand why they've decided to leave it enabled here on the new ones. Frankly, I'm surprised that the mods haven't been inundated with reports of griefing, trolling, and flaming... all behaviors that have been stated to be against forum policy, even in the rep comments.

In the box where you post your messages, there are some editing buttons at the top.
The blue world with a chain is for embedding links into text.
The yellow picture with mountains is for embedding images into your post.
In a new tab, host your picture on a separate site (photobucket,imageshack...), go to the direct link for the picture and copy the url.
Come back to the Forum tab, type your message, including the words you want to use for your link. Highlight the words you want to use for your link, and use the appropriate button (text link or image). Paste the url from your hosted image into the pop-box.
easy peasy -
I found Curveball's (Ex_Libris) guide to "toggle binds" as part of THE WHOLLY UNOFFICIAL AND FAIRLY INCOMPLETE GUIDE TO /BIND (v. 1.1, dunno if there is another version out there).
-
-
You can also color/bold your highlighted text before imbedding your link... I dunno if you can do it after imbedding, haven't tried it.
-
If they knew you could see who gave out the rep, maybe they would be more ... thoughtful ... before posting such foolishness. Anonymity gives courage to cowards and fools alike.
-
Here also is another P-wiki article that gets into the nitty gritty details of how they work.
-
Hmmmm.... I also seem to recall hearing that there was some sort of targeting issue when destructible items were up for testing... Like I say, I did not do the testing myself, so I'm just remembering things second/third hand. I can imagine that between lag and targeting issues, it turned into one massive cluster***k.

The P-wiki has a very good detailed article on the subject.
There are several links within it that you may also want to follow. -
To answer the OP's question with real numbers:
I am a female player, and I have;
10 female characters
4 male characters
When I played p&d tabletop games, I almost always played male characters... usually the oddball/non-human types... no comments from the peanut gallery, thank you. -
Quote:Hmmmm.... well, according to my dad, the date keeps changing... He claims I never aged beyond 25 (therefore, he never aged beyond 45)...Those of you that have never changed your birth date on the forums, you may want to double check it now. Changing names forces me to give you a birth date so i'm making them up as I go heh
I <3 my dad
And thankies, Niv, for dropping that annoying underscore.
