MOG: Useless?

What is the point of being invincible for 15 seconds? How could I use that tactically, whether solo or in teams? I'm almost 38... should I take it?

Whenever there is a lack of a tanker you can use MoG to absorb the big burst damage from a large group. If you are low in health those 15 seconds can allow you to regeneration passively enough to keep you from dying. If your regeneration gets debuffed to oblivion you can use it to help mitigate some of the debuff. There are numerous applications to it.

In a word, YES!!

Regardless of your primary, by now you should have encountered /Regeneration's biggest weakness: Burst Damage. Generally this comes in the form of the Alpha Strike - when the enemies pull out a powerful attack as their first move. Get a group of those, and - without other means of mitigation, you can end up dead before you really get going.

Of course, if you survive that, /Regen is generally able to take care of itself. There is a reason for the old saw about Regeneration: If your not dead in the first 10 seconds, you are unkillable.

Well, take another look at Moment of Glory. For 15 seconds, you have 71% defense to all types (save Psionic) and 71% Resistance to all types (again, except Psionics). If you haven't been paying attention, that's well over the Defense Soft Cap, and almost at the Resistance cap.

In other words... yes, the perfect tool to plug /Regenerations Burst Damage weakness. It's the thing you use when you see a group of problem enemies - like, it includes more than one boss? Two Malta Sappers? How about an AV? Rikti, Nemesis, and Carnies can even be enough of a pain alone to warrant the power.

So yes, take it. You'll be hitting it, then Build up, then dive into enemies and see them fall.

Believe it or not, 15 seconds can be a long time. Ever played against a Paragon Protector? There are 2 types, claws & blaster, one has "unstoppable" and one has "moment of glory". When they hit those powers, it becomes a tedious takedown... those few extra can seconds seem like forever.

The PAragon Protector MoG is actually still like the old MoG, believe it or not, and still lasts the old duration as well.

Paragon Protectors use a completely different MOG than players. Theirs drops them to 10% hp with somewhere in the ballpark of 90%+ res (I've never tested it in game and I don't know what their Melee_Res_Dmg table looks like) that lasts for 45s.

Huh, I always thought their MOG had the standard 2-3 min duration.

Ahhhh - hah! Thanks for that. Lernt sumthin new.

Nevertheless, I have found MOG on my claws/regen scrapper to be quite useful, especially against EB/AV's.

How I use it so you don't waste as much time in animation as your jumping right into the middle of the spawn hit it mid jump. You'll land in the spawn with the animation over and ready to attack right away.

Think of it as a defensive Build Up.

If I had to rate MoG's usefulness, I'd put at about a 9/10 at worst. It's a phenomenal power. Look at it this way. If you regenerate 30 hp/sec (you should regen -at least- that much), MoG gives you 15 seconds of straight regeneration where you're almost guaranteed to not be damaged. That's practically a 450 HP heal. Of course, with IO's and whatnot, you'll be sporting around 50 hp/sec which is a 750 HP heal.

It's a beautiful power. Please take it.

I'm convinced. I'll take it! Thanks all!

There is only one reason not to have MoG: you're not a level 38 */regen yet. There is no excuse for not having it as far as I'm concerned.

Buh-wha?!

If you're regen and you're EVER low on end you are doing something very wrong somewhere.

I pushed MoG back to 49 on my latest Claws/Regen build, but that character never exemps at all, so I'm not losing anything by doing so.
