    SG base

    P-wiki page on control items

You need the control room, the prestige, and the badge (check the link on the P-wiki page).

When you are in a room (any room) only the items that are allowed in that room will appear in your item tabs. So; to place a power unit, you must be in the power room; to place a medical unit, you must be in the medical room; etc...

So then, you will need to be in the control room for the super computer to appear in your item tabs to be able to place it.
  2. Uhhmmmm... P_P, is this what you were looking for?

  4. What Agge said.

Trial accounts may not be able to actually join the SG but, as a teammate, they can enter their teamleader's base... as long as the base permissions are set as such.

    LOVE THIS IDEA!

Those are 46-50 Oro missions, I don't know if you get access to those before 50.

Do the same for the Shard.
These are all freakin' brilliant. I was grousing about the trek to Cim. just the other night, thinking "there has to be a better way!"

Especially useful if you need to quickly pick out a sorcerer, shaman or something else without having to constantly type in the entire bind command.
I knew there was a way to do this! I'd read something similar about it on the old forums, but was not clever enough to take notes...

  7. I use this exact method on all my toons to get them started.

I love that the ease of accumulating currency in this game allows me to treat each toon as a self-sufficient entity... because I hate, hate, HATE muling.

    Your inflexibility is YOUR inflexibility.

People have simply tried to address your apparent frustrations with alternatives. Explanations have been given, but you are coming across as unwilling to give the game a true "fair shake".

    Game Crashing

Actually, I've hard-crashed several times since the end of the christmas event, and I have mentioned it at least once on these boards. I've been putting in the popup crash reports, though I don't know if they actually do any good.

My game was also starting to get "choppy" which started to make me go "hmmmmmm", so I decided to do some clean up and a defrag. So far, so good. *crosses fingers*

    *@$/?#~!

I have a dent in my head.

It used to be a hole, but now it's just a dent.

I'd forgotten about it until one holiday a few years back. My cousin is a physical therapist who was beginning her studies in pressure points and mia fascia release. She had a tool that looked kinda like.... well... a very small set of boobs. You were supposed to lay with this thing under the base of your skull, and it was supposed to relieve the pressure at certain points, and alleviate headaches. It worked for everyone but me. It literally did the very opposite and gave me a splitting near-migraine. As I was manually massaging my skull, I felt the dent.

When I was about 10-ish, I used to practice the piano for 30 minutes every morning (I took a secret relish in this aspect of my musical endeavors, as it was basically everyone's "morning alarm"). One morning, I finished my session and stood up rather quickly.
    Headrush.
    Blackness.
    Tunnel.
    Who's that screaming?
    Oh.... that's me.
    !!!
    AHHHHHHH -----!

I had passed out, and smacked the back of my head right on the pointy corner of the piano's square leg base. It bled everywhere.

I was rushed to a clinic where the doctor carefully shaved the area, and said "Hmmmm... I really can't do anything here. Just have to tape it up." Then I was sent off to school as if it were any other day.

I arrived at school just in time for PE (Physical Education), where they were in the middle of a tumbling/gymnastics session. Now, I had long hair, and the wound was at the base of my skull, so it didn't show. The teacher instructed me to participate in running summersaults and cartwheels. I refused.
    She insisted.
I refused again, saying that I simply couldn't today.
    She asked why.
"Because," I said, with every ounce of a 10 year old's indignation, "I HAVE A HOLE IN MY HEAD".

This of course drew a cacophony of laughter from my classmates and I nearly got sent to the principal's office, until I showed the teacher that, indeed, I really did have a hole in my head.

When I told my hubby this story, he just looked at me kinda funny and said, "Well, that explains a few things." (the smarta--)
  12. BRT = be right there
FOTM = flavor of the month (this one confused me for a good while)
OTOH = on the other hand
IMOH = in my *humble* opinion
TTYL = talk (type) to you later
MILF = .... ... (google that one for yourself)
QR = quick reply (meaning the poster may not have read every little detail of the thread, and is just putting in their quick 2 cents)
RTFM = Read the (efffin') manual
GIGO = garbage in, garbage out (rarely used anymore... did I just give away my age. )
    FTW = for the win
FWIW = for what it's worth

And that doesn't even touch the acronyms for powers and IO's (Invention Origins (enhancements)).

Honestly, I don't use a lot of acronyms in the forums, but in game they do save a bit of time when time is tight.

Mad Briar, if you're still hanging out here on the forums, you might be able to hook up with more EU players via the European Lounge forums, or the more specific forums for Defiant or Union (click the linkies ).

I also agree with the suggestion to put in a "search comment" as described by Dispari, so when folks look at the team search list, most will understand your limitations right off the bat.

For customizing your windows, keybinds, etc., take some time to go through the in-game menus thoroughly. Not only is there a very comprehensive options menu, but also (somewhere in there) there is a kind of guide to commands and shortcuts. Some of those commands have changed over the years, but most are still viable.

There are also several player written guides here on the forums that address almost anything you can think of, and as has been mentioned, if you have any other questions, by all means ask... We'll do our best to answer.

Finally, I think I can say we all hope you will enjoy the game. However, if, after testing the waters, you decide that it's not your cup of tea, we understand that too.

  15. Congratulations to the winners!

First place base was a little bright, which gave it that sort of wintery feel. And it definitely displayed some cleverness in the layout and usage of items.

I really like the colors in the 2nd & 3rd place bases, very warm & cozy. Made me think of spiced hot apple cider and opening presents in my pj's.

As to costumes, well, it looks like the striped stockings were a popular theme. I think I would have liked to see a little more diversity there. Color choices for all were done well.
  16. I think what Fulmens was trying to say is that even though there are those who can afford the current exchange, it's not necessarily the average player and therefore not a truly viable inf. sink. There does need to be an influence sink, but in order to make the inf -> prstg sink a viable one, the ratio should be reduced to accommodate the average player. His "comfort zone" for this reduction would be 250:1.

    Leastwise, that's my interpretation.

As to redname representation for bases...
    • PlasmaStream is a player. Generally considered a leader in the base community, though I've not seen them on for a while.
    • Sunstorm was the redname that was supposed to be working on bases, as well as some "other projects"... Unfortunately, those "other projects" took up much more of his time. Also, I saw someone mention in another thread that he is no longer a redname. I've not confirmed this for myself.

    • need to control the lag somehow... lag = not fun
    • the critter levels need to be set like the "special event" raids. Fighting hard-set level 54's in low level zones was really not fun.
On a side note, there seemed to have been a glitch of some sort when the initial "party crasher" titles were handed out at SC. In our case, all of the team except the leader (who started the team) received the title. Leader eventually got the title at the Atlas instance. Dunno how that's supposed to work, but it seemed odd.

You can't demote unless the demotee is online. The only offline option is to kick.

We've been asking for an offline promote/demote function for ages.

If I've not been notified of a player taking a leave of absence, I will often leave inactive toons on the roster for up to a year. For the SG that I've "inherited", we keep the founder's main toons in, but have cleared the others. For us it's about keeping the clutter down. We don't recruit a lot, but when we do, we want the active toons to be more prominent.

    2. When someone sends a tell to a trial account have some sort of auto-reply feature that gives the sender a "this person is on a trial accoutn and can't respond through tells" response.
    This.

It's been brought up before. Lots of veteran players would be more than willing to help trial players out, show them around, give them tips... encourage them to sub up.

BUT... When there is no reply to our tells, it's hard to determine if the other person is just /ignoring or is on a trial. We know there is an auto reply for someone who's gone afk, it seems like there should be some way to flag a trial account in some sort of manner to do the same thing.

There's also been a suggestion to give trial accounts a special title/color to their name, but I personally would be afraid that would make them immediate targets for some of the, er, less-than-helpful population.
  21. Another pre-fight screenie in front of the SC Magic Shop. Limited in scope, I'm afraid, but got most of the folks up on the wall. Gah! sorry, can't seem to get the imageshack thumbnails to work right.

Well, looks like I was confused too! lol

Thanks, Draggyn, for setting me straight on that. I was under the impression that the individual purples did not scale down like the other IO's. Sorry 'bout that.

Honestly, though, I really love the Mid's Hero planner. I spent hours on it figuring out which combination of sets I wanted for my arch/kin (very difficult to get those defenses/resistances up). I ended up with 4 possible builds, and actually ended up settling on a "non-purple" build. I may change that sometime down the line (purples are expensive!), but for now, I think I have something that will do the trick.

    Oh and meant to add:
Hecatomb, as a purple set will only drop from foes able to drop lvl 50 enhancements (lvl 47+), can only be slotted at lvl 50, and are not purchasable with merits.

True that purple sets can only be slotted when you reach 50, but just to clarify a bit, they can be slotted in any appropriate power taken at any level.

In other words, you can slot your low level powers with purples... you just have to wait until you reach lvl 50 to do it.

Slotting lower level powers with purples has another little benefit.... there is no penalty of diminishing returns when exemping. Other IO's will scale down their benefits when exemping.
