The ONE THING I hate about this game.

I've been in a Manticore TF for the past hour. At least, I would be, if I didn't keep crashing every time I zone and then getting this message EVERY TIME I try to log back in:

I can live with any other error message; I have no problem reconnecting when the mapserver dies. But being unable to LOG IN is what gets me. The login screen will sit there for 5 minutes, and then die with that error message. If at least the timeout were shorter, I would endure it -- but five whole minutes waiting for the server to reply? Why in the heck would it need to wait more than 30 seconds to know the server is not going to answer?

Just venting.

Thanks to @EnsonsDeath for the GVE code that made me VIP again!

Yeah! I hate that too.

However, it hasn't happened to me in probably 9 months or so >.>

Ouch dude, I'd be pi**ed too. I have a GPU that LOVES to crash right in the middle of SFs.
Not on paper mishes, not at the BM where it happens to be toggle day that day, not at a huge Costume contest, nope! Right when I need good processing the most. But the consistency you're getting, geez......bad enough that you had time to post a thread about it before trying again. That does suck.

I'm willing to bet it's not waiting 5 minutes for a single connection, but rather trying several times on your behalf.

Just jiggle the cable a little bit. Those tubes might have some blockage.

Sorry, digital technology is not subject to "technical tap" (see "percussive maintenance") the way older analog equipment is.

Clicking on the linked image above will take you off the City of Heroes site. However, the guides will be linked back here.

It can be. I remember one guy who had a computer with a hard drive that was acting up. He could hear the drive seeking, but it would never start reading the data but firmly tapping the computer case would get it going again.
