  1. Storage, travel, crafting and EMPOWERMENTS & OURO.... yes, I use my bases quite a bit for all of those things.

As to whether the devs intend for bases to be a group feature or not, I'd say they built it in such a manner as to allow for both groups and singles.

However, we do now have a bit of a conundrum: Devs have implemented several features in the game that make it much easier for the single player to manage without joining a SG.... expanded travel, expanded storage, faster xp, easy salvage through AE/WW, easy recipes with AMerits... There is very little enticement for a single player to join a SG when they can build their own solo base for the basic amenities.

Also... Even though the Devs have focused so much energy into making sure the iTrials are group activities, these massive group trials give no benefit to a SG... they are packed with single player rewards. There is only one trial geared for SG's specifically, and it is such a pain in the tukus that it is not run very frequently at all.

So... if Devs intended SG's to be a primary group feature, they have undermined it terribly over the last several issues.
Personally, I think the Devs have recognized that bases and SG's have become something other than their original design, and are trying to figure out how to fit them back in to the scheme of things.

    No.
I already paid for the base feature when I purchased CoV.

Interesting concept... but not a new one. The idea of using pre-fab maps/designs such as those in the AE has been proposed in the past.

Again, I am not inclined to pay for a feature that is already a part of the game.

So, what would happen here, is that a player would only be allowed to be a member of one supergroup at a time. That's not going to fly with people who like to create/join multiple groups with different themes, especially for RP purposes.

#3. Special items, decorative or otherwise, for these bases would be sold on the market. These items would have a 1 time placement fee removed, but you could place them an infinite number of time after wards for a standard fee... For example if I bought say, a sword case, the first time i place it that would not spend the base currency, but if I wanted to place a second one it would. (bug in the system may pop up where when you remove that "first" purchase item you might be given currency for it...that is something to watch out for)
No, No, and OH HELL NO
Do you know how many times items get "bought" and "sold" (placed/deleted) in the process of designing? Do you have any clue what a major clusterflux this would cause?

Great mechanic to troll your "friends".
    No thanks.

  3. Mito Shift....

You know, that odd shift to the left in mito placement when Hami blooms... seems to always happen when Rangle is around...

    jus' sayin'

The way the initial patch notes read, there was an implication that only VIP's would be able to edit bases.
It seems that someone's definition of "edit" meant "interacting with the SG registrar to start up a base or pay rent".

As I understand it, if a Premium toon in an SG (invited or pre-existing member) is of a rank that allows edit permission (by the SG's settings), they will be able to use the base editor.
Keep in mind, however, that since a Premium toon will not be able to pay rent, an SG will need at least one VIP account/toon to maintain the base power/functionality.

  6. There was mention in game that this may also be happening after opening other "full screen" windows such as Tailor or Enhancement/Training screens.

I've not tested it for myself, but it might be worth checking into.

As far as "SG Incarnates," "SG IOs" and the like - honestly, I'd rather not punish people who aren't part of an SG or are part of smaller SGs.
    This.

Plus, I'd rather see more of the things that have already been repeatedly requested in the BIG LIST or in the EASY LIST (see my sig for both).

  10. I encourage anyone who has access to beta to go play with the new shiney.

It takes a little gettin' used to, but I think most folks will be very pleased with what they will be able to accomplish.

    A couple notes:
    • It only works with floor and ceiling items, not wall items. You will still need to use the cubicle/stacking trick to bring wall items off the wall. However, angling them will be slightly easier, since the cubicle itself can be rotated incrementally.
    • It was mentioned on test that the rotation increments are an odd number (something like 2.8 degrees?), so a perfect 45 degree angle may not be achievable... (but then again, is it achievable now?).
    • Matching several individual items to a unique angle may be challenging.
    • I anticipate that I will still be using the big floor piece to lay out desks for a floor... but getting the piece in place will now be that much easier without having to use safes or lamps to intersect with.
    Spiral staircases, anyone?

    .
  11. I have not tested this on live, but was just on the test servers, and I can say it is definitely happening over there as well.

Logged in to a character & traveled to AP to pay the base rent... no flickering.
    Paid rent... still no flickering.
Went in to SG settings to check my prestige balance... flickering began immediately upon exiting the SG settings screens.
Flickering occured during movement, not while standing still.
    Have several screenies.
    Where should I report/post them?

  12. As I understand it, sound looping is usually a driver issue.
Might want to check if there are any driver updates for your sound card.

  13. I have an idea... come to Vegas!

Seriously though, due to the short notice, I won't be able to commit to saying I can make it. I would like to, but it just depends on how a few other things pan out first.

I'm also thinking this is indeed the work of a very clever builder.
I spent some time a few days ago trying to get the double door bug to work again, but was unsuccessful.

I'm assuming this is on a high level character that has already claimed the rewards?

Have you tried to make a new toon?
Those of us who did not have high level toons on Freedom, are not seeing those badges... we are only seeing the "new" yearly badges.... and zero Reward Tokens earned or placed, and consequently nothing to claim in e-mail.

Also, I was on for several hours last night, leveling a new toon (without my SoM ), and never saw the market come online.

I didn't /bug anything, because I wasn't sure if it was just "the way it is" after the wipe.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to test much over the next few days, so it's up to you guys to figure it all out.

Even if the copy is "a bit out of date", I should still have access to my veteran powers...

I have the new 4 year vet badge, the new e-mail setup (inbox, account, character...), I even have claimable items in the inbox - but no vet powers. No Sands of Mu/Blackwand/Nemi Staff...

The Paragon Reward tree/bush exists, but no Reward Tokens earned or placed... how can I have the 4 year vet badge with no Reward Tokens?

Cannot access the Paragon Market... I can almost understand that one...

Do I need to uninstall/reinstall to set things properly? or is this just the way the test server is going to operate from now on?

I'm not complaining, per se, I'm just confused and would like to understand the situation better.

Bah! Terns, Gulls... when you live on the coastline, they're all Chickens..
It's been a long time since I watched the movie, so I forgot that it was a mix of birds... I just (vaguely) remembered the scene where they attacked the girl (Tippi Hedren) in the upstairs room...

Back in my college days, our theatre/film history professor told a story of Hitchcock explaining this.... The story goes; he used to collect eggs from the henhouse as a small boy and it was his most hated chore, as he was always getting pecked.

Hitchcock... almost as twisted as Poe.
