My controller has travelled over to the Rogue Isles, and having turned into a villain via the alignment process, has started work on gathering as many villain badges as possible. One particular problem I've run into is that when doing the red side treespec trials, the option to choose the respec reward (and thus the badge) doesn't appear. All I get is the reward merits option.
This happened to several other heroes on the team I was with today. For myself, I have the three hero side respec badges. Could this be a factor in preventing me from getting the villain side respec badges? -
Fire Melee can pump out similar spike damage due to the added fire DoT in most (if not all) of its attacks. :3 If you pick Shield Defense to go with it, the damage will raise, of course.
-
If you REALLY want a ingame reason for his/her transformation, whichever you decide to go with...
Costume slot 1 - human form
Costume slot 2 - werewolf form
Pick up Elude
Play in human form (yes, this sounds stupid already) for the general game, and when you want, hit Elude (this gives super defence, and super unsuppressed speed), and change into wereform costume using costume emote. Now your werewolf form is stupidly fast in combat and doesn't need to Parry hits due to way over softcap from Elude. XD When three minutes are up, turn back into human form and recover from turning into a werewolf, haha.
Of course, now you've picked a catgirl, so maybe this is all moot, haha. -
I'd rather not bump an older thread concerning mid's, but I don't want to derail the discussion with a bug report. :3
Crab Spider Soldier's Frag Grenade is greyed out at level 18, and the only way to pick it is by selecting Arachno Soldier's Frag Grenade as a prerequisite... but if you then select the Crab Spider's version, the first is invalid, and if you try to deselect the Arachno's one, Crab Spider's Frag Grenade is in red complaining it can't be used that way ingame (although you can now put slots into it).
Oh, if you put in any power from your primary or secondary as the level 41 power, it will act as a prerequisite to unlock level 44 powers from the patron pools for Crab Spider Soldiers. Dunno if it's the same for other Arachnos Soldiers. -
Might be a good way to bring back the original pre-Issue 10 'nekkid' appearance of the Rikti but as civilians or something.
The contact for Hero 1 should probably be in a side room in the warzone base and only available to characters with the Apocalyptic badge so other people without the badge can't see him. This is so it doesn't ruin continuty with the Lady Grey TF. Is he human again or still in hybrid Rikti form?
If in Honoree form, he could be given his Hero 1 clothing since his Honoree clothing is all torn up and everything.
If not and he was reverted back to human form, when he appears to fight the new Omega team later on, he could be using a "holo-inducer" or something to give him the appearance of the Honoree, and when he switches sides, he changes back by using a costume change emote or something, haha (maybe the Vanguard costume change one!).
I agree with SenseiBlur, the last mission does seem a bit lacking. Needs something... like the original sized mothership floating above! The Omega Team have to arm the city neighborhood's giant energy turrets to take it down before leaving otherwise it will invade Primal Earth! The turrets are all linked together, and once all armed, they fire as one on the mothership, either exploding it in midair, or making it crash into the Restructurists' city causing massive loss of life (oops... well, that's what happens for using such a huge ship to attack the invading Primal beings, could be flavor text which pops up for heroes/viligantes/villains/rogues, heroes are "What have we done?", viligantes are "We did what we had to do", villains are "This is revenge for attacking MY planet", rogues are "We didn't have to do that, did we?") -
So, a power tray has 10 slots to place powers in. Even so, I generally have to leave the first slot open or have a keybinded power there because if I have a standard click power (such as an attack) in there, I might accidently switch trays while in the middle of frantic combat.
How many times have I been fighting in combat only to discover I can't attack because tray 1 suddenly became tray 2? XD
One QoL change which would be nice is a way of locking a tray somehow so it can't switch to other trays without unlocking it. :3 -
It looks like a very viable build, although I'm not too happy with the slotting for Ice Storm and Blizzard, even if it does give a recharge boost. I might make that one my second build with some adjustments, hehe.
-
I've always been a bit bothered about my Ice/Energy blaster's fragileness in PvE, so with i19 coming up, I've reworked much more defence (from like zero, haha), along with the fighting pool. The level 41 IOs are because I want to exemplar down a certain amount while retaining defence (plus, the blaster is only level 40). Slots in Sprint and Rest are for Health (Numina regen/recovery and Miracle recovery) and Stamina (mix of normal IOs and Performance Shifter end and end proc).

Defence values are (at level 50, using level 41 IO sets):
Smashing/Lethal = 33.1%
Fire/Cold = 15.4%
Energy/Negative = 29.2%
Psionic = 12.9%
Melee = 14.8%
Range = 34.2%
AoE = 17.9
With one small purple, I can become softcapped to Range and most forms of melee attacks (that is, if it has a Smash or Lethal component). For AoE... I'll just have to deal, haha.
Any possible improvements? Build Up and Aim may seem to have a long recharge, but I tend to find I rarely use them much anyway (I keep wanting to save them for certain enemies and then end up forgetting about them at times, haha). I tried using Total Focus, but it's just a bit too slow for my tastes (althought that was on my old build), despite being a powerful melee attack. -
Doppelganger tech to be applied to some of the pets from Controllers and Dominators as an alternate option please. :3 I want my Phantom Army and Phantasm to look like me, but all ghosty and everything.
-
If you have Going Rogue, work on your character's alignment to affirm their choice as either a hero or villain, so they can start earning Alignment Merits. With those, you can buy orange recipes fairly cheaply. Yellow ones will still have to be obtained by drops, the market, or by Reward Merits though. :3

Quick question, how high does Caleb fly above Thorn Isle? Been spawning him repeatedly and can't find him still. XD
-
Quote:Almost all ill/rads work towards perma-AM/Hasten anyway, even if they can't get enough for perma-PA. This means the endurance recovery from AM is permanently on, basically, which means ill/rads generally don't have to worry about endurance unless they use EM Pulse a lot (and even then, they probably still have some endurance left after the recovery debuff wears off). Ill/rads generally don't take Choking Cloud, but this isn't always the case.I think it depends on 'How much influence you got' I never tried illusion/rad but OH GOD the endurance situation must be hell. With Kin you get the nice DMG buffs for yourself, speed,recharge,great endurance,slight regen debuff, dmg debuff. On the other hand like already mentioned you can't buff the Phantom Army and Rad's debuffs help more in that way. In no way am I saying Illusion/Rad is worse I'm just stating that it would probably take more work then an Illusion/Kin.
-
Is it possible for Caleb to spawn during Halloween? I know there's only an hour until the event is over, but just asking, haha.
-
Quote:I'm not sure myself, but presumably it's due to Fire Sword having higher damage, I guess? I suppose if you have a high recharge, Fire Sword recharge probably doesn't matter... but cast time is 1.33s compared to Scorch's 1s... hrm.I don't get it. How is replacing fire sword any different than swapping out scorch in the other chain?
I only took Scorch because I didn't like the look of the fire scimitar (in fact, I put off taking Fire Melee until like Issue 15 when I finally ran out of Scrapper melee powersets to take, haha), so with future alternate animations, I might take Fire Sword... -
I just like the fact that due to Inherent Fitness, I will have three extra powers to put into my build. This brings up tons of new possibilities for all my alts. Even if they'll only have base slots, it's still something.
All my Brutes will probably take Taunt now, for example, haha.
Oh, and some powers which can be taken earlier due to the three (Swift/Hurdle, Health, Stamina) not taking up three of the early powers, that will be great!
My only real complaint (other than no extra slots, but eh, I'll manage) is that it wasn't done earlier. XD -
Do 8 man tip missions. Not only do you work on farming at the same time, you also work on alignment merits at the same time for specific recipes. Win-win!
-
Don't forget "flippers", people who buy stuff cheap and then resell it at absurd prices which will still sell to the "need it now" crowd. o_O When the markets merged, obviously the flippers increased, as they are all sharing the same resources now instead of just red and blue.
Generally speaking, if you need salvage, but don't want to pay through the nose for it, use AE, rack up some tickets, and random roll common salvage, or buy uncommons and rares as you need them. Also email yourself salvage and recipes from other characters on the same server.
Recipes... Hero and Villain Alignment Merits are great for this, when you need a specific one, but don't have the Reward Merits to either buy or random roll and it's selling for stupidly high amounts, such as say, a LotG 7.5%. -
I think they're affected, so a character with high recharge will generally be able to use accolade click powers more often... but don't quote me on that.
-
Two-handed animations for Broadsword when attacking would be nice. The character simply applies their other hand onto the pommel of the sword when attacking and removes it when done.
Hack: Raise sword for a overhead swing with both hands.
Slash: Quick diagonal slash from bottom right to upper left with both hands
Slice: Similar to above but a horizontal line
Parry: Wielding the sword with both hands to 'push' away the enemy (only in animation, no knockback)
Confront: Rest the sword on both shoulders with a 'Hmph!' sound (that's right, alt sound instead of the 'Ahhh~' one, haha)
Whirling Sword: Rip off Link from Legend of Zelda with his Whirling Blade move.
Disembowel: Step back and lunge forward to plant the sword into the belly of humanoid enemies. Attack comes from low to high, to explain the knockup attack, haha
Head Splitter: Character focuses to apply extra strength to double handed swing similar to a baseball bat, but with a sword, explaining the knockdown.
Katana/Ninja Blade needs single handed animations too! -
Before I start working on a build, what power pools and epics/patrons do you favour (if any)? Anything you're particularly not keen on, such as Super Jump pool? Do you have the 60 month vet badge?
-
Wouldn't it be best to simplify the choices down to Melee, Range, or Control for playstyle? Once the friend chooses one of those, then choose powersets. :3

Quote:That's true. Using the Marvel character Spider-Man as an example, he's science origin, but in his storyline, also has tech origin (made webshooters and other gadgets when required), mutation origin (mutated to gain evolved powers, but lost them later), magic origin (totem powers that be evolved his powers again). I suppose he hasn't been shoehorned into natural origin yet, haha.Your Origin is just that: your origin. How you get your powers after starting out does not have to have anything to do with how you started out. If Batman can gain Technology powers (such as in Kingdom Come where his body is broken down after decades of crime fighting so that he has to resort to robot armies and power armor to continue) or Science & Magic powers (such as becoming immortal through the Science & Magic blend of the Lazarus Pit in Superman & Batman: Generations), then there's nothing wrong with your Natural Arachnos Soldier gaining Technology powers by having the backpack grafted onto his back.
Same goes for if they suddenly are able to fly or move at super speed (say, from the effects of being bombarded by the magical energies of Circle of Thorns' attacks or something about Cobra spit/venom triggered a post-Origin mutation). Your Origin doesn't have to be a straightjacket for your character's entire career. -
AoE defense hasn't hit softcap even with Weave, need to change slotting.
Since you've hit the cap on 28.11HP/1.875% HP, take a slot out of Aid Other (which has the HP bonus over cap), and one out of Focused Senses (LotG Defense/Recharge, Mez resist bonus doesn't matter too much on a brute who's softcapped), and put both into Stamina to sixslot it for the Performance Shifter 3.125% AoE defense to push it over softcap.
Consider changing Weave and Evasion locations with each other - Evasion covers your AoE defense hole earlier, and gives you more Defense Debuff resists.
I see you're aiming for a high recharge build with the Force Feedback proc possibly allowing for overlapping Hasten, which is a nice idea, but remember not to sacrifice your build in doing so.
