  1. Thank you Positron for allowing me to be a villain when no other game allowed it as City Of Villains did.

But I will say this, even though I've fought with the heroes for years, I will now stand by their side in trying to keep this game alive with every ounce of "SMASH" I have.
  2. This thread deserves to go out on top.
  3. This forum has always been there for me whenever I had a question regarding my brute. I rarely even needed to post due to having all my questions already answered with a simple search.

The posters on this forum have made my journey in the Rogue Isles that much easier. You will all be sorely missed as you were always there for me.

The smash will be gone, but I will always be a brute at heart.

    God Bless you all.
  4. I'll throw in a shout-out for War Mace. Great ST dmg as well as AoE. Only downside to it is the slow-ish attacks and the redraw (depending on your secondary) which may or may not bother you.

But in the end, as others have said, it all comes down to whatever it is that you define as fun.
  5. "I could never play a Mastermind, they're too boring."

"As an alternative to all these replies, you can simply say "I don't remember asking you a g*****n thing! /SamuelJackson" and proceed to solo the map, the boss, or the AV. It's tough to argue with results like that."

This is truly epic! Nice guide Dechs.
  6. After coming back to this game from a long hiatus, I decided to start up an MM and chose Bots/TA. I'm actually quite surprised as to how much I am enjoying Trick Arrows as a secondary, even to the point where I would actually keep him over my Thugs/Poison who was my first ever 50.
  7. I'd be willing to spend a few bucks on this.

    New To Brutes

    My ADD version:

    Brutes SMASH!
  9. Hi all. I've just gotten back to the game and am looking to build a new brute.

I'm going to try a combo I've never played before and choosing a secondary was the easy part. However, I'm stuck between the two primaries and both have appeal to me. So I was wondering if anyone out there has experience with the two combos and could offer up which one would mesh well. I'm mostly looking for end game advise, and I do not plan on doing any pvp.

    Thanks in advance =-)
  10. My Brute makes widows. Or widowers, depending on who he just SMASHED!
  11. Hi all,
I've been trying out MM's for the first time in a long time, and am currently playing a DS/Therm (which I'm loving btw). I was wondering though, seeing how my alt-itis is kicking in again, if I were to give /TA a try would I be disappointed?
I don't mind secondaries being busy either.

    Demons vs Thugs

Ninja's >>> Demons, Thugs, Necro's, Mercs cause they are ninja's that were trained by Chuck Norris.

This was another reason I was considering one of the two.
  14. Hi all,
What's the difference in the two? I'm currently leveling up a DB/ scrapper and want to be able to get more accuracy/to hit for my combo's.

    DB/??

Thanks for all the responses guys! I think I'm going to go with Super Reflexes as the recharge you get with Quickness is very appealing and it only has one click with PB. 2 if I go with elude, but that's still up in the air.

    DB/??

    Hi all,
What would work best with Dual Blades? I haven't played hero-side since CoV came out so I'm absolutely in the dark as to how scrapper secondaries perform and what meshes with what.
  17. This thread got to far away from the first page for my liking.
  18. I'm currently leveling my DB/Elec toon and have him up to level 48. Here's what I'm experiencing so far:

The damage on him is surprisingly good. All I'm using at the moment are lvl 50 SO's, but am looking forward to adding some procs as I can see how it will really benefit the lethal damage set. Being broke sucks =-(

It was with electric armor that I was getting impatient with until after some searching around the forums I found out what I was doing wrong. I was thinking that because /elec is a resistance based set, I should be fine with just charging in the group of enemies and laying waste, but as it turned out, I was the one getting wasted. Then someone wrote that the best way to play as an /elec brute is to use your lightning field as an endurance drainer all the while sapping them with power sink.
What I do now is charge in and let mob attack me while I use power sink, click my heal, and let the lightning field keep them down to their most basic attacks, while I do my dance of death.

Overall, I was like you and ready to give up, but it wasn't until I became a sapper myself that things started to get fun. Hope this helps =-)

    New Brute

I'm currently rolling a DB/Elec brute, but am having a hard time with him. I'm finding that the two don't mesh well with my play style, but that's just me.

Why I chose /Elec was because of the damage aura and the recharge, but those two will only get you so far when the odds are against you, whereas /wp, /sr or /Inv will see you through most situations better.
  20. I'll tell you why you should NOT make a scrapper . . .

    They're not Strong and Pretty.
  21. Thanks for the reply Ehina.

In all honesty, I haven't played blue side since CoV came out so this might be the excuse I need. I'm thinking I should go make a DB/Regen scrapper.
  22. Hi all,

I've heard through the grapevine that the damage factor would be better if used with a scrapper, so I was wondering which AT I should use.

    Thx in advance =-)

    /elec or /Inv

    Hi all,
I'm just wondering what would be a better secondary for using with Dual Blades as a primary. These are two secondaries that I've yet to try and just want one that with synch well with DB/.
  24. Hostillian

    ??/DA

Claws - but after a month I wasn't having fun. Not knocking /DA too much, but I just couldn't get into it. I then started a new thread asking for a good soloing secondary, and several people made a good case for willpower so I am currently running with that.
I don't play this game a lot so I don't really have the time to spend trying to master Dark Armor. However, when I'm done with my current build, I'm going to give /DA another whirl but might end up using Dark Melee.
  25. Hi all,
After trying out dark armor, I've decided its just not for me. So I was wondering, whats a good secondary when it comes to soloing?
