  1. I've got all of um saved, if someone wants to organize a team (im too lazy).

I dont have the lvl 5 one, but thats easy enough to get.

I guess if there's any interest, people can post here and we can decide when to do it.
  2. i made this for 1v1. its a psy mastery version. soul mastery is the best. Life Drain does alot of damage, recommend slotting for it. my kb pro is low, i dont care. im using the Cardiac program. i hate Snow Storm.

  3. Tenebrous Tentacles has a wide cone. Its pretty easy to encompass the whole mob..even while close

It's a lot of fun capping your damage>nuking>transferance.

a Range IO and a Rech IO in SB can help reduce the tediousness of reapplying.

Before IO's came out I made a melee type kin/dark defender (something I read on the forums) it used Barrage and Air Superiority as the main attacks along with TT and Dark Pit..it was fun, but i died alot and deleted him at lvl 25 lol.

As far as ancillaries go, what is best for a defender? Should I invest in the leadership pool? The only thing I have so far is Hover and Flight. As far as the medicine pool goes, I'm not really interested in self heals. I hated using it on my blaster as I found it helped me very little in game and I couldn't stand the pausing of my character that it caused. That's what greens are for!

Are there any skippable powers too? I know Gale and 02 Boost are crap powers and from what I've read people say take 02 Boost and give it 3 to 4 slots. I think Gale is an awesome control power though! Anyone have any thoughts on this? If I take Gale, how many slots should I give it and what should go in?
O2 is a nice buff power, but no one uses it preemptively :P

I usually dont slot more than one acc in gale, but you could always slap a few damage procs in it.

If you're still lvl 18ish, grab some SO's from Mr Yin's store. (or i could email you some)
    @hinden

sounds like a fun combo, I just completed a storm/dark def.
  5. seems like Weave, Maneuvers, and Stone/Ice armor should have a 4th Luck of the Gambler to better round out your numbers and give you another 27% global acc.

so i dropped the Razzle Dazzles..your sm/leth def went up with the extra LotG's.

  7. heh, you dont have to have fly..just use Combat Jumping.

    a) Head to the center of mob

    b) Irradiate.

    c) Jump up. At the apex of your jump use your kb power.

used to do this all the time with Energy Blast and other cone affects like Frost Breath on my ice tank.

course if you like fly..by all means.

just to be clear.. you're lvl shifted to 53? so they are con'ing yellow and orange?

also, like it was said earlier...don't forget how much grinding it took to get this "OP-ness"
  9. could try this too.

I don't think you'll get much use out of Anguishing Cry.

I'm not sure how well the tp foe thing works..
There's like a one second period of "Unaffectable" right after you tp someone.. so basically you tp them and they keep right on jumping.. sure they are in range of your pets now but, its seems like more of a annoyance (which is fine if thats your goal). I just didn't know if you have experience with the build or if you are building it from scratch..

Usually you can pick up the D/R and E/R Sheild Wall recipe's for 5~15mil each. The next cheapest will prolly be the D/E/R which is gonna be around 125mil.

btw, i dont have alot of pvp MM experience..

  10. I just notice you were wanting to use this for pvp.

I made some minor changes to your build. For pvp its prolly gonna need more attention.

Yer gonna want a resist sheild. Defense is lol in pvp (check your combat statistics while in zone to see how defense changes)

    I'll try and make 2 version's.

version 1 (better suited for PvE)

resist's are capped with epic sheild, so imo Arctic Fog is skippable for arena only builds (assuming you need something else). AF seems more useful for zones tho. Since I arena more than zone, I'd put the Kismet 6% in Stealth and not toggle AF most times.
  12. k, assuming I'm correct about the placate proc (I've heard people swear it procs 100% of the time)

your attack chain could start with mezmerize + 2~3 fire attacks?

with mez surpression I don't really see a reason for TK

again, I don't have dom pvp experience..

  13. idk much about dom's, but imma take a crack at a build.

you might decide what Incarnate path you wanna take before a final build.

also seem's like Mezmerize should be in your attack chain for the Placate proc, and therefore slotted for damage..idk, thinking out load
  14. I added my preferences..

-I removed Snow Storm (super end drain/critter agro/just not a fan)

    -removed a few Micro's and 3 Apoc's

-the slotting is based on using the Cardiac program (it's like a free endurance SO in everything and some range in yer attacks)

-I wouldn't toggle Arctic Fog whilst pvp'ing (your resists are capped) unless you've got some -res debuff on you and are being attack by fire/cold/energy damage. I prefer Stealth (which is why I moved the Kismet 6%)

-the Glad Jav D/R and D/E/R are the cheapest from the set, but you could always drop those.

keeping your PPP, I would slot something like this.

  15. Is there a Victory - PvP channel? or will there be a global channel for this?

I'm interested in getting a toon to 50 on Victory/helping lowbies get xp for BC2 through "regular" teaming/tf's.

It'd be nice if I could monitor a global chan., preferably one that will be used even after BC2 is over..

if so, either AT would be good.

if not, I'd go with the tank.

altho, if was lvl 46 I'd make Statesmen pl me.
  17. If yer starting out, you might try the regen scrap..or maybe a willpower stalker (cheap).

max your HP and get a phase power (2 temp powers available for zone pvp).

If you're going cheap, just be sure to have at least 40% Rech, Rec isn't an issue, at least 2 SOs worth of travel in SJ and *at least* 1 SO worth of travel in SS. You want 41 KB Prot and at least 1520ish HP. If you can work in heal bonus, that's not a bad idea, and cheap with Doct Wounds.
    this.

also you'll want range in your heals and at least tier2 Incarnate from the Cardiac program...

this is kinda cheap. btw are you planning to buy Lotg: 7.5's?

if you dont want to use the Lotg's, and your global recharge is low, just slap a second recharge in phase and maybe more recharge in yer heals.

yeah dont worry about having a perfect build. your technique (practice) is moar important :P

  20. --I would drop Superior Invis for Combat Jumping if yer only gonna put a LotG%. You could also put a stealth IO in sprint if you want more stealth.

--I would also remove all slots from Mutation.
Personally I wouldn't even take Mutation (the old "hand them a Awaken" arguement) but everyone has their preferences

    --Stamina could use some lovin'

I was playing on Pinnacle with my alpha-less lvl 50 dominator. There were numerous lag and server instability issues the whole time I was on, both solo and teamed with 2 friends (both not lvl 50).

Anyway, for our first team mission I changed my difficulty and wanted to abandon an old mission I had outleveled (it was 46) so I could then reset to 50 with more mobs and bosses. I had it selected, but couldn't abandon it. I then selected a different mission to see if I could then select the old mission I wanted to abandon. I finally could abandon it. I then called the contact back to rechoose the mission, but instead of offering it to me, I got a previously completed mission instead.

This was the arc from Sister Airlia. The mission I wanted to abandon was Talk to Sister Solaris. The mission she gave me was Free Fortunata Bramlett. I had already done Bramlett a couple nights earlier and had left off with Solaris that was farther down the arc tree. I coulda sworn these 2 missions were in the same arc.

So long story short, abandoning and resetting an outleveled mission reset the whole arc to the beginning. Not sure that's supposed to happen. Maybe if they were linked missions?

But it kind of sounds like the resetting of awards and completion for these bugged strike forces.
nah, thats normal. Some missions are linked together like that, so when you abandon it may go back a few missions.

I'm trying to get a morality mish. After reading this thread I gather it has to be "dropped" like other tip missions.

Your comment above (and several others) makes it sound like you just automatically get a morality mish right when you step out of the 10th tip mission :P

The Redemtion Alignment Guide sounds the same way..quote

"Completing a Tip will award you with a point in the mission's Alignment. After gaining 10 points in one alignment, you will be given a Morality Mission."

maybe I'm missing something. I'm off to attempt to get a Morality drop.
