    If memory serves, with the CoV closed beta the "regular" test server was still available; CoV was done on different servers from the normal test server. I remember having to do some weird stuff with the test client to be able to log on to the CoV beta server.

    At any rate, I'd say the winter event will definitely go live before Going Rogue. Have they even hinted that there's a chance of GR coming out this year? As big as GR will undoubtedly be, and given the usual times for closed (and then open) beta of regular issues, I just don't see how there's nearly enough time for it to be pushed live by the end of the year, even if the GR closed beta started today.

    Did you just try logging into the game? It sounds like you're trying to do something with your actual account, which isn't necessary. Just launch the game and log in.

    I don't know how you're reading it that way. The announcement makes no mention of when the closed beta will start, merely that attendees will be signing their NDAs there. Those of us who aren't attending Hero-Con and will get in via veteran status or the loyalty program (as well as anyone who is randomly picked -- they could be doing that as well) will (probably) have to electronically sign NDAs the way we did for the CoV closed beta.

    The GR closed beta *could* start at any time, of course. I just don't see how you're getting anything about the start date from that announcement.

    Well, the drop rate fix was in the patch notes for Wednesday's patch, and there have been other threads noting the same experience as yours, so yeah, I'd say it's fixed.

    A bank is something that's been suggested so many times over the years with, as far as I can recall, no Dev comment on one way or another. While I support the suggestion and would make great use of it myself, I'm assuming the Devs have some reason they haven't implemented it after all this time.

    /unsigned. I play on Triumph, which is always in the bottom two or three servers population-wise and while I prefer playing solo, I never have trouble finding a team when I want one and get frequent tells asking me to join teams most times when I'm online. Some of us prefer to play on low-pop servers, and for those who don't, well, there's always server transfers.

    You're not missing them. This announcement and the one for Double XP weekend did not appear when the time stamp says they did. (Otherwise you'd have to believe it took someone almost 24 hours to reply to the OP here...) I've noticed it before, but have no idea why they're doing it.

    While the Devs do read this forum (and it's great that you got a reply from one... what was the gist of the reply, if you don't mind me asking?), this forum is NOT the best way to get an official response. The description of the forum makes it clear:

    Obviously the Devs and community reps can read whatever forums they want and occasionally do respond to bugs posted here, but the only sure way to get them to act on a bug or technical issue is to go through the proper channels.
  9. I haven't really noticed this to be a huge problem, except for the last time I played through the 30s blueside. It seemed like there were a lot of missions in that range that were "stealth kill-alls," and I'm one that always reads the mission text, even if I've done the missions before.

    Haven't really noticed it being that big a problem in any other level range, or on redside.
  10. I haven't done any real testing on it, either, but it certainly seems like I can level faster at the low levels now by going -1 enemy level. Pre-Stamina and pre-SOs/IOs, it makes things a lot less painful and "grindy" feeling to be fighting mostly blues with the occasional whites instead of even- and +1-cons.

    The ones I've seen doing it since Issue 16 came out are moving too fast, the way they were before. Definitely not "sneaking" speed.

    Except the statement you quoted wasn't talking about sidekicking, it was talking about exemplaring, with a qualifier about earning extra influence instead of gaining xp. I'm not sure how you were reading it to mean that the complete old sk/exemp system was an option.

    Really? I'm not familiar with you, so I definitely wasn't targeting you.

    The person before you wasn't implying that others in the thread were "attacking" the OP, and the idea that the OP might have been talking about invention table pricing had already been debunked before you posted.

    These prices are indeed set by devs, and I would agree are far too high for what they are.
    In the OP, he mentions "the high price to purchase IOs now," implying that he's seeing a rise in costs. The prices at the invention tables have not gone up, so he must be referring to the market. It's the only explanation.

    I don't see any "not so polite info" in this thread. It's just people suggesting that the OP learn how the market in our game works, since it's obvious that he's missing something. There are no harsh words or name-calling (not even a "lrn2play noob" yet), so I'm not sure what you're considering "not polite."

    Nope. At one point, it was possible for members of coalitions to ADD stuff to your SG's bins, but somehow that allowed an exploit where people with insufficient permissions could take stuff out. So now coalition people can't even do that much.

    It would be nice to imagine that they'd be able to fix the exploit and go back to allowing coalition members to add stuff (or even take stuff, with appropriate permissions), but that would require actual attention to bases...

    I remember awhile back some discussion about any "extra" character slots being locked while the NCSoft store was down. I guess I thought it was something that should have been fixed a long time ago, but maybe not.

    It doesn't affect SSK at all; the option to exemplar "the old way" merely means you'll get extra influence instead of XP when exemplared. There IS no option to "not SSK" the team.

  20. I did a "Defeat 10 Council" in Steel this morning, and I didn't get the "Council lying there not fighting back" thing. I *did* attack some of the ones lying down, but they'd get up and fight back (usually being attacked by the 5th around them at the same time).

    I was glad to see that I got credit for Council kills even if all I did was take off the last sliver of their health after they'd been attacked by the 5th, because I had a lot of trouble finding pure Council spawns.

    Yep, every 12 months, and it was retroactive, too. So if you were a four-year-vet when extra character slots came out, you immediately got 4 free character slots. Basically, a free character slot is a "freebie" thrown in with whatever other Vet Reward you get at each 12-month period.

    It's just an exploration badge, at the base of the giant minotaur statue in Talos Island. Here's the ParagonWiki page for it, giving a picture and location.

    You HAVE gone there and stood on or near the badge, right?

    EDIT: I'll head there with a character who doesn't already have it and make sure I don't have a problem getting it.

    EDIT2: No problems getting the badge here. You mentioned SG mode, as if you might be trying to get the exploration badges for the Talos Island TP beacon. If you've already gotten the badge normally, you won't get a message when you go back again in SG mode to get it for beacon purposes. I know you said you don't already have it, but if you're going to that spot and not getting it, you may want to double check your exploration badge listing and make sure you're just not overlooking it there.

    All the back and forth with opinions on what the EULA actually says concerning copyright/trademark (and that's what all of us have been expressing -- opinions or interpretations -- since none of us here are copyright/trademark lawyers and even if we were it wouldn't matter until or unless there was ever a court case) makes me wonder...

    If it's true that NCSoft absolutely owns the characters you create and you can't ever use them anywhere ever, could they sue Cryptic Studios since a lot of people (myself included) have re-made their City of Heroes characters in Champions Online, getting the costumes and powers as close as they can possibly get them?
