You should probably learn to read.

The person I replied to was wondering about a combo that could be used in normal play and for casual farming and is not SS/fire but something else /fire. DM/fire does fit that bill. Pretty much anything/fire would work. I also did mention that SS/fire would still be better. Maybe you should follow your own advice and not post in this thread?

    Lol wut?

On my farmer, my attacks are slotted with purples meaning not much end redux. I also have tier 4 spiritual. Because of the high recharge, consume is up quite fast. Around 40ish seconds. (varies due to FF proc) Also when farming, inspirations drop like crazy. So if I do run low between the times that consume is up, chances are, I have a blue handy. The split second it takes to pop a blue does not slow you down at all.

    Build Request

IMHO hasten would not be needed with claws. Unless you are going for a super fast recharge ultra attack chain, claws does fine on its own and there is nothing in WP that would make hasten useful. Acrobatics.... uselss on a melee unless you are fire or dark. You get better protection from IW. If you are putting the extra slots in health for things like Numina unique, they work sligtly better in Fast Healing.

I wouldnt want to make an expensive build that cant run other content as well, so Im obviously not that serious about farming. Just curious if putting together a secondary build for casual farming (lol) would be worth my time.
Alot. Other popular sets are Elec/Fire and DM/Fire. SS is better than both. DM comes close once you get some huge recharge and can get Soul Drain perma. But with that same level of recahrge, SS is still faster.

As far as casual that can still farm DM/Fire is alot of fun. Great single target attacks, blazing aura and burn in your secondary, and 2 heals and 2 ways to get end back if needed.
  5. Did just fine on my WP brute with only 50%ish resist. Just need to keep your defense soft capped and have some -to hit on the team. That should not be too difficult with a WP tank, just a luck or 2 away or some decent team buffs. Granted a little bad luck and you can still go down in 2 shots.

Although I will say I bout shat myself when focus hit me for around 2k something damage and left me with just a few hundred HP. Although most teams will have some kind of healer to help get that back.

  7. So I was on my defender that switched over to red side getting badges. While working on the badge for killing 50 snakes, I noticed something odd. Vs level 1 mobs, the game seems to think you are equal level with some things. Your HP don't change or anything like that, but you do damage to them as if they were level 51, not level 1. Also their to hit rolls treat you as if you were level 1. I played around with different toons and for any of them with the +1 level shift the same thing happened. For those without the shift, everything is WAI. Here is some stuff vs level 1 mobs on my SS/WP brute.

Viper Claw HITS you! Throwing Dagger power had a 39.50% chance to hit and rolled a 24.52.

With IOs and no toggles I have 10.5% defense so this is exactly what you would expect to see from an attack from an even level mob. However this mob was level 1 and I am 50+1.

You blast Viper Blade for 107.08 points of bonus negative energy damage!
Viper Blade is hit for 301.62 points of smashing damage by your Knockout Blow.

Now consider that 107.08 is the exact amount of damage the hecatomb proc should do vs even level mobs something is wrong. Here is what happens vs level 2 mobs.

You blast Viper Blade for 642.53 points of bonus negative energy damage!
Viper Blade is hit for 1809.77 points of smashing damage by your Knockout Blow.

Also any level low level mob only has 5% chance to hit as they should.

Obviously this is not a huge issue but just wanted to bring it up since sometimes little unnoticed bugs can cause very strange things to happen when other things are changed that you would think would be unrelated.

Sure. PM me your global, I would love a demonstration.
Had a redname on my ambush farm to show them how it worked. I have made no effort to hide the farm by name or by changing the name or the number. It is still up and running several months later. While it may not be with the "spirit" of AE, there are no rules being broken on those farms. (At least the ones I have seen).

Its is not difficult. It is not me you need to convince that it is harmless to the game. Good luck convincing the devs.
Devs are well aware of this already and have been aware of it for months and have done nothing. Actual exploits are fixed much faster. It would seem that the devs need a bit more convincing than some people think.

This is the best possible support you can do in most cases.

The other would be, stay alive and help kill stuff. The farmer should (keyword) already be able to survive on their own so added def, resist or heals are pretty much useless. Considering on ambush farms, the farmer is well beyond the aggro cap so just getting near them will cause a quick death in most cases. It will not matter if your buffs/debuffs cause aggro or not, you just being on the map when the amubshes spawn is enough.
  11. RWZ is normally where I go. Nice light you can stand under and also able to adjust your sex and size if you wish.
  12. The agreement probably is not going away. Best I could suggest is to move the accept button so it is in the same place as the login button. That way you can double click and move on with your life, just like it was before the change, except in a different spot.
  13. Reminds me of how people get upset when you say "toon" instead of avatar or character. People know what you are talkng about either way, let it go.
  14. Will be announced on 4/1/2011

    Week 1 Dr Q/Villian respec
Week 2 Faathim the Kind Task Force/Virgil Tarikoss aka Cap SF
Week 3 Sara Moore TF/Mender Tesseract
    Week 4 Synapse/Villian respec again
  15. I get the sound loop bug every single time on the 2nd mission and only in the RWZ base area. Have never had a crash from it, however it does seem to be quite common to lose at least 1 person during that time.

Is that how it works? I have not read up on it so if that is the case it would be a non issue.

You are correct. The mag is 0.7 on Quick Strike. That is a little odd considering the other KD powers in the set are 0.67. Typo perhaps when making the power that someone missed the 6 when typing 0.67? Not that things like that ever happen in this game.

Same. Some mobs are prone for knockback like clockwork (may be the only ones). Otherwise unless you should not have any issues unless you are 2 levels higher.

This will be interesting once I20 has been out for a while and we have 50+3s running around. Im sure farming, they will set the difficulty up if they have KB powers but on TFs that are on the lowest setting, Footstomp could suddenly turn into handclap with damage.

Okay, in the CoH engine there is only One Single Knock Effect

There is no existing mechanic that separates the knock-effects outside of the effect magnitude scaling.

This is why when you slot knockdown powers with knock-increase, stuff goes flying.

Now, should the game be updated to support 3 different states of Knock effect? Oh Hells Yes it should. That would fix a lot of the problems players have with powers causing knockback that are supposed to only cause KnockUp or KnockDown.
As usual, you have no idea how the engine works.

There are currently existing mechanics that seperates the knock effects outside of the effect of magnitude scaling.

This is why when you slot knock up powers with knock increase, stuff goes flying higher but not farther away. Ok higher is farther away, but you know what I mean.

Now, should the game be updated to support 3 different states of knock effect? Hell not it should not. The 2 we have are working as intended. Smack something of lower level with the same force as you would a higher level, the lower level mob should go flying vs just falling down. Imagine hitting a prize fighter and a 5 year old with the same force. One would at best fall down and be dangerous to you like an even or higher level mob would be and the other would go flying and pose no real threat. Although the later would probably spawn a police ambush at some random time when you are least prepared for it.
  20. Now do it without inspirations.

This entire thread comes down to essentially people who solo, or who believe that they can be the exception. However, WE, the support toons are under the obligation to save you. If we don't we might not get flack from you, but like in all games, you will get the "Heals Suck" "Buffs not constant", "Where were you" "We wiped it's your fault"

Sorry, but this thread, and others can back me up if they have played any other game in the entire universe which is multiplayer, which features both buffs and heals, that you WILL be the first one the eyes look at.

Sorry, but after reading this over again...you are right, I am under no obligation to save you, however I would like to change the title to...

"If I do something rediculous then please don't blame support for not bailing my butt out of hell come high water, when I decided to split the team, rendering half of the team useless and the other half to dependant on the support said toon can offer"

Long title, but seriously, don't get on our supports back if you decide to play L33t hero, get yourself faceplanted and then need a scapegoat to cry about because you jumped into something that was to much to handle.

This post sort of turns me off.

Sorry for being blunt, but obligation aside, if obligations are obligations, then your obligation to me, and others is not not be jerks and to tell the rest of the team to not be a jerk when others, including myself, cannot meet expectations that are normally easy to meet.

I believe that this thread is the OP's decision, and thats fine, and it could be his playstyle which I wont knock, however it's also the OP's obligation to admit to the team when they sucked out and screwed things up for others.
Well if you go running off to save a scrapper, and don't bother to heal the rest of the team and they die because of it, you would be the one that should be to blame. Who is more the fool? The fool or the fool who follows him?

As support you are there to support the team, not one member of the team. So what if one member runs off on their own. /Ivandragoimpression If he dies, he dies. Not your fault. I have never been blamed (unless it is behind my back) for the death of someone who ran away from the rest of the team.

People are normally not that critical of support when the poo hits the fan and they cannot keep everyone alive. Was actually on a tin mage yesterday where squishies kept getting too close to the aoe range for those giant robots and kept dying. Me and the emp cycled through rezes and kept getting people back up. After, the leader thanked us for the great heals even though there were several deaths.
  24. I think the only time I don't like it when someone gets scrapper lock (or Brute Focus redside) is when trying to do a speed run on the LGTF. Good luck getting then to stop killing stuff so you can let chatterbox and glacia get killed.
  25. Would rather just have a group TP that works like the vet power added to the pool since TP foe is not totally useless, albeit, not popular.
