Quote:Acutally it does not mention that attacking gives you a damage buff or say for sure that you will cause a damage debuff.....
Kinetic Melee hits do Damage Debuff to enemies which then Damage Buff you.
The Build Up power for the set magnifies this Debuff/Buff effect for a short duration.
Enjoy 3 screenshots that tell you the default color for this powerset is yellow.
"Each attack that lands on a target weakens that target's ability to fight back."
Any number of debuffs could weaken the target's ability to fight back. With kinetics it may be a -damage but also could be a slow.
"When a practitioner activates Siphon Power, each subsequent attack becomes yet even more powerful."
The power siphon sounds like it could work like a short term blaster defiance, adding an additional damage buff every time you attack. "More powerful" is quite vauge as well so at this point there is no way to know for sure if it increases your debuff or not.
As already pointed out there are 5 pics, not 3.
If you want to be snide then fine, just be accurate. -
Quote:Maybe 4 arms is how we can get Dual Blades, Katana, or claws and shields. Or dual archeryAnd we have just now seen our first Quadroped skeleton with the Tier 2 Demons in the Demon Summoning set. And the /e growl of the mutant booster make me want to be able to run on all 4's in game so bad!

Quote:Like the last wave dying, or mabye 15 -30 seconds after the spawn dies to give time to rebubble and rest if needed. When I do the hero respec, I go get a book or a sudoku puzzle or something for the reactor room. Otherwise there's a good chance I will fall asleep.
I love the idea of having some way to trigger the next wave.
It is sad that one can complete the entire villian respec in less time than you spend waiting on the hero respec. -
Quote:HP, Regen, Recharge. If you take Combat Jumping and Weave you have a total of 4 spots for LoTG +recharge once you get some funds together. Then you still have the potential of 5 purple sets as well. Stun (boxing or jab), Melee, PBAOE, TAOE and ranged. What do people usually slot for on those ss/wp budget farmers? I have a lvl 40 of that combination sitting around that I could finish leveling, but IOs don't seem to do much for WP. It would benefit from perf.shifter+end procs and miracle/numina uniques... after that recharge? hp?.
I'm more accustomed to builds that stack defense or need high recharge for a key power and WP doesn't really match those.
Now granted you can stack defense to a point on WP, but I have not found a way to do that and still maintain the very high recharge that I like for farming. Therefore I tend to go with more HP and regen. -
Quote:When farming with a melee toon you are (or should be) always in the middle of tons of mobs. Elec fences is much more likely to get a whole spawn locked down in a burn patch than Soul Tentacles' narrow cone. Most farmers take Ball Lightning and Elec fences since they are true AoE powers and you don't have to position yourslef to hit everything. Why /mu and not /soul?
With soul tentacles, you get an immobilize power that still lets footstomp do it's knockdown, so isn't that better than electric fences? And I also thought that gloom is better than mu lightning. So that leaves ball lightning as maybe being a little better than dark obliteration, but with the other two, particularly no knockdown prevention in soul tentacles, doesn't /soul work a little better than /mu for this combo?
I guess if you're not using lightning field and just taking mu lightning and ball lightning that comes out fairly equal to gloom and dark obliteration.
I've never farmed with a SS/Fire, so I don't know. I'm curious, though.
Comparing just the single target range powers, yes Gloom is better than Mu Lighting in overall damage, but on farmer builds AoE is king.
Lastly, if you have spent enough time and effort putting together your farmer build, you should not have to worry about petty things like mitigation from footstomp. -
Picking nits here. The name changed, what the power does changed (never had +regen before or a heal) the end cost, recharge, duration and just about everything else changed. The only thing that stayed the same is the cast time. In addition the Conserve Power power itself remained unchanged and can still be taken on scrappers or tanks with the body mastery pool.
Yes they indeed did replace a power. -
Going to have to say yes and no. On my main, I have one build for farming and high end content. I use only my tier 9 attack (footstomp) and patron powers in an attack chain. However if I were to take that same build down to level 25 it would still be pretty durable, but a pain in the hindquarters to use. With only jab slotted with stun duration purples and KO blow for attacks I would do a whole lot of sitting around waiting.
Now granted I have invested a several times more funds to my farming build compared to my "leveling" build, but it is still alot more fun to mal/exemp down and have an attack chain instead of just 1 or 2 attacks.
On my other toons, if I do have a second build it would be for solo vs team play. Dropping targeted heals and shields on a thermal, in favor of more attacks for example. And both sets would be able to be used at any level. -
-
SS/ something brute with Mu patron pool.
Or any brute for that matter. Mu has 2 AOE attacks and a cone.
You could even really mess with people and have your "AoE" toon Energy Melee if you felt like it. -
Quote:So what is your point? You also have 2 bubbles, Sonic Repulsion and Clarity that are useless solo. Many sets are this way. Cold, Thermal, Emp, FF and Kin all have powers that are useless while solo. So don't pick that power on your solo build.
I hate the fact that the AoE debuff has to be targeted on a ally which makes it a power that is absolutely USELESS for me solo.
Quote:Sonic Repulsion. Stupid power. A carbon copy of a power from Force Field Manipulation that even FORCE FIELD no longer uses because it was utter crap. Power should be replaced with something offensive that has a small -res or small debuff of some type.I would like to actually see a damage aura that you could apply to others. Imagine a Spine/Dark, Fire or Elec with yet another aura on them.
Quote:Liquefy sucks. It is about one of the most dissapointing Tier 9 powers in the game. Radiation Infection works better, comes earlier and does it in less slots
Radiation Infection does something similar but it dies when your anchor dies. Depending on the team that puts you somewhere between, "oh well, need to find another anchor" and "holy crap, where did all this aggro come from!?!" Non issue with Liquefy. -
On my WP brutes at higher levels with just SOs I can take the alpha with no real issues. And that has lower HP, lower resists and lower Def. This is for normal to +1+2 stuff anyway with a full team.
-
Have to agree with Candlestick. Rage is what makes SS great. You get +80% damage to everything. While FCS does to slightly more damage vs FS with rage, many people forget to factor in the bonus damage to patron AOE attacks like Ball lightning and Elec Fences when they compare sets.
Also there is that extra 5' range on FS that many seem to dismiss as well. -
Don't need HOs for mind link. IOs will work as well to enhance recharge. Just need seperate sets of Def/Recharge and you are set.
-
When I need the very best there is; when I have to absolutely positively kill every mo-fo in the room, I accept no substitutes. My SS/WP brute.
-
Have to disagree with you on that one. Some say oppressive gloom is great for /Dark scrappers. I had it and didn't like it and never missed it. On the same maps with the same mobs with the same sized spawns, my health bar went down faster with it on than with it off. Could be because I had a high defense build and normally would fight several mobs at once. Mobs were still not hitting me either way but I was taking damage from them being stunned as well.
Now there are some powers that just plain should not be skipped but you will never get a 100% agreement on what those powers are. -
Quote:I am not worried too much about them giving me a bonus. If they are plowing through mobs then great. However on a full team vs +3 mobs you will be facing alot more than just 6 mobs. Unless a brute already has aggro on those mobs you will faceplant in a hurry without some extra defense. And what if that guy who doesnt have TT:M contributes in other ways? Say he can rip down a pack of 6 by himself with build up : venom grenade : frag grenade : heavy burst... ?
But since he isnt giving YOU a bonus, he isnt good? He isnt contributing (even though he IS), or at least not YOUR way, so again, he's no good?
Wheres the logic there?
That kinda sounds... stupid.
Like ya said, cant fix stupid....
If you were helping the team and plowing through everything and staying alive then I would never even bother looking at your build. If I notice that you are dying frequently then I will take a look. If you could have taken powers 20 levels earlier that would prevent your constant death then you are either ignorant or stupid. If you are ignorant, then I will attempt to educate you on the value of added defense. If you have a 48month vet badge, bye bye. I am in customer service for an online company. I let my 13 year old son play around on the website and he has figured out how to do most anything that would need to be done on the website. I deal with the customers on the phone that are not smart enough to do the same. I get paid to put up with stupid. I am not going to spend my free time doing the same. -
True, but if you are lvl 40 and don't have TT manuvers yet, you have issues. You are either ignorant or stupid. The former can be fixed but you just cant fix stupid.

Ok, time to watch my rep go in the tank. I'm in the minority here to a point. I would kick somoene for not having ceartain powers at higher levels.
Examples are:
Any bubbler without bubbles.
A kin without FS. No SB is ok in my book but it would be nice to have.
Any scrapper, tank, brute or stalker that did not take mez protection.
Any MM without pets.
Any Defender with only one attack.
Any VEAT that did not take TT:Manuvers.
Now with that being said, let me qualify my position a bit. Bubblers without bubbles I would ask them if they have a second build better suited for teams, if not, bye bye after the mission.
In addition, I would not kick a newer player with only a few vet badges for those reasons. I would try to educate them on better options. However if they have 3 years + of vet badges, to me this tells me they either purchased the account from someone else, are borrowing the account from somone else, or they do not know how to play the game even with 3 years of practice. And I just don't want to have to deal with any of those types of people. Even if you have never played a certain AT or played very little, after 3+ years of being on teams with others, you should be able to pick up what is needed to be successful. -
Sometimes I will do an "accidental" misstell on purpose. Just out of the blue for no good reason Ill say stuff in coalition chat like "OMG I know what you mean. (X coalition member name) can do great things with his tounge."
Oops MT. -
Quote:I have done the same thing but with people in the same room. Was on a raid while playing AoC and we were in the middle of a big boss fight. My son was supposed to be doing homework but kept getting distracted by the game even though I had the volume off. So I hit the press to talk key and tell the whole raid "Stop looking over here and focus on your work"Does it count as a mistell if you're on Ventrilo with your friends for a few hours doing task forces when you get a phone call from your girlfriend and you continue pressing the press-to-talk key while talking to her so your friends get to listen to half the conversation? If that counts, then I've had waaaaay too many.

No thank you. The accepting the fortune thing is annoying enough. I do not wish to get a pop up every time someone casts a buff on me. What would happen is that most everyone would set it up to auto accept the buffs anyway and every time they did a CC they would have to go in and change their settings. Sorry, just easier to move the CC to studio B than it would be to make this change.
/unsigned
Now I could go for an option where you could turn off all buff visuals. That way only the judges would have to change their settings and would help some with ancient computers with no graphics cards. -

Quote:Ok I get what you are saying and agree. The way the sets are laid out, in most cases, if you do focus on just +regen you end up also getting +HP thrown in there already or at the cost of 1 more slot. In that reguard, focus on one, you get the other. And just to clarify, my point is that instead of chasing +regen bonuses (which are extremely tiny), that WP brutes should get more +HP Bonuses - because they increase your regen while also increasing the amount of damage you can absorb.
They way I choose what I'm going to add is by checking each item individually in mids, and for a WP build, tiny regen bonuses generally aren't worth it (if you get them incidentally, it's gravy on top, but I don't look to add them specifically).
They will add nowhere near the survivability that +HP or +DEF will. It's not even remotely close.
Unfortunately I can't access mids at the moment, I'll post some examples later today. -

My 1st 50 was a Claw/Regen scrapper. I went from that to my 2nd 50 - Spine/Dark scrapper. Quite a bit of a shock for a while. But I stuck with it. This was back in the days before IOs. I did a couple respecs with trying out ToF and OG and decided to skip them both. I also had accrobatics to prevent KB. I really did not have any endurance issues. All attacks had an end redux in them and the higher end toggles had 2 end redux.
Sure I would still run out of end in a hurry, but I also killed just about everything quite fast so it evened out. If I needed to catch up on my blue bar I could run to the next spawn, use ripper for mitigation and let my damage toggles do the rest. This was on the highest difficulty at the time and I still ended up hearding spawns together so I would not be wasting my aoe potential.
Once IOs came out it was even easier once I had numina slotted.
Yes, overall DA uses a bit more endurance compared to other sets but it is nothing that is unplayable. All just depends on your playstyle. Maybe it is because I acutally use all inspirations frequently and not just when the poo hits the fan, who knows.
