I honestly don't get all the hate, yes it's hard, yes the lvl shifting doesn't seem to be working as it should in the last battle, but the five times I played it I only lost on one, and the one I lead lastnight had several who never played it and was very successful at it. It's a new itrial, its also the end of the Praetoria story, so it *should* be hard, but if you have at least one person who knows some of the tricks, and enough league members who can listen, I can't see it going too badly, of course DPS & debuff requirements aside. This may have been brought up before, but I just found this thread & didn't really read through all the pages, but even so it's a point that should probably be made again.
*EDIT*
And the one I lead I lead as a tank and only died once in the Tyrant fight and that due to typing instead of moving away from the lightning, just to toss my 2 cents into the melee can't do this trial argument. -
Quote:I have to agree, I play melee on itrials and yes, I get a bit annoyed when I don't pay attention and have a long animation attack que'd when I should be running, but like it was stated, this is also a good time for other AT's to shine, I get a feeling of 'Yeah boy!!!' when doing it with my blaster. All it takes is a little change in tactics, then it's really not that bad, even in the comics melee characters don't always rely on the 'just punch em in the face and all will go fine' tactic. Why not just consider it an advantage of range? Most ranged ATs have other disadvantages that occur throughout the whole rest of the game that melees get to shrug off and I'm sure other situations are far worse off than melee...I'm imagining it's annoying for Masterminds to recall their pets from specific ranges and/or resummoning them when they inevitably bite the dust, control powers don't often have a use in such fights, so on and so forth.

I'm not playing them cause I'm on the forums instead of the game.
Seriously, if the shape shifting is the issue, that can easily be taken care of as stated in earlier posts. Now I admit to liking my WS (human form only) more than my PB (bi-form) but that could be due to being on a server that I havn't played on as much as I used to and not teaming with him much when I do play it, not for any prejudiced reasons, just bad timing on team finding. Though I have been thinking of trying a PB again on my home server, maybe try it as a human-form. -
I'll try to get in on that, and if we try the new itrial, I was on all 3 successful runs @jaberwok ran lastnight so I can help with that if the general knowlegde hasn't spread among the Pinn server yet. (Which I'm sure it has by now, we don't want to be the last server to get it done regularly.)

I like the idea of having 2 different days for different PvP modes, lets test the waters and see if we can make enough ripples. As for the time I suggested 8-9pm est as thats typically the time I get on, but I think I can manage getting on a little earlier on Mondays (at least for a few weeks, will have to wait to see about after depending on the job I'll hopefully be getting). Now Claws, if you don't mind going against a defender, I think I could give a run for you money, I do tend to stay close.

Gratz again tex, and I want to be there when defeat your first GM with brawl only!
-
Monday nights sounds like a good day to set it up for. Maybe a start time of 8-9pm(est)?
-
OK, a few days ago some of us did some PvP'ing in Bloody Bay and it was fun, no real trash talking, no vedettas formed (that I know of), & win or lose people seemed to just have a good time.
So, what I'd like to know is what would be the interest in maybe setting up a weekly PvP night, either pick a diffferent zone per week or go by highest vote for that week, just for yuks & fun, & maybe a chance for some PvP IO's.
Let me know what you think pro or con. -
I would think somewhere in the Tuesday-Thrusday area would probably be a good bet, I have some 50's I'd like to get into more trials
-
Really? Eh what do I know, I'm still a noob going 3 years strong.
-
Excited as I am to have new shinies to play with tomorrow, will this affect the STF being the WST for this week? Wasn't i23 supposed to turn it into Penelope Yins TF?
-
I've done a few rescue mishes in the last few days, tips/arcs/radio, and I cleared the way to them but still had to lead them to the door. Maybe its only a certain set of missions?
-
I was surprised to get 'Gridline' for an elec dom, just seemed like the perfect name for any electric character. 'Chronoblast' for a time/beam defender was another one that surprised me. I'm sure there may be a few others, but it's too early in the year to use my brain too much.

Quote:Wait, are you saying I can't play the game because you didn't finish cleaning?!?I believe that that is an unwritten rule for MMOs: All maintenance and downtimes must occur on people's day off.
I had finally finished cleaning and had just set down to play some CoH and whoops, there go the servers. You'd think that the devs are trying to tell me that I hadn't finished cleaning yet.
I'm not going back to cleaning! -
When Flambeaux doesn't want to talk to you about herself.
-
Thats another point too, while I'm not above teaming my lowbie with some high lvl friends for a few easy lvl's, most of my toons got to where they are with a lot of time/effort and I still get a sense of accomplishment when I break out my first 50 and do some mishes with him just out of knowing the work that was put in to getting him there. I would be really hesitant to move onto another game and leave them behind.
-
Just to toss in my 2cents, with the new/returning players I see on a daily basis I think COH 1.0 still has quite some life left in it. I think with keeping in mind some of the financial issues going on the last few years, having a game that has less demanding requirements opens up the player base to those who can afford to spend some time/money on this game but can't work in a top of the line PC to run a game that would make their current rig explode in defiance. Personally, I think there are still alot of lore/stories that needs to be explored before any thought of a sequel really take hold.

I don't know about anyone else, but I think next time theres a Thursday patch I'm just gonna plan a night on the Xbox and wait for the inevitable patch to fix the patch.
-
Before this patch, I was just fine, no mapserving every other time I zone. I've mapserved 5 times in the last 2 hours (started playing at 9pm Est). I logged onto the forums actually to make a thread asking if anyone else was having this problem when I found this one.
-
What, you want to change the last part? But thats the perfect time to do the laundry, make a snack, read a book, check email, take a nap then wait another 10 minutes for the last mob. Whats to change?

Quote:Yes, I did mean Ms. Liberty, after going thru all the pages before posting, I just didn't have it in me to proofread what I typed, & honestly, I'm surprised I didn't have a lot more typos.Considering Miss Liberty is dead, that's not happening.
MS Liberty (aka One-Alignment-Mission-Away-From-Vigilante), on the other hand... I totally agree with you. -
Ok, first the generic things, I first saw the thread tittle and just knew it had to do with the SSA. Second, I agree that it seems a bit odd to announce the death (even if a good amount of us figured it out) before the isssue hits live, but there has been some examples given as to why it was. Third, knowing the 'who' doesn't really make that much a difference to me since I believe that it's the 'how' and maybe 'why' that'll make or break the story. Saying that, I'm really looking foward to playing it to see how it plays out.
And personally, I'm hoping that his successor will be anyone BUT Miss Liberty. -
TBD for New Years? People playing drunk and not really sure whats going on....isn't that just another day on Pinn?
-
NO, IT'S A TRAP!!! I mean, I hope you enjoy your next gaming adventure and I'm gonna try to be at your sendoff, though like I said for Jade, this game is too addictive to stay away, so we'll leave the bar lights on for you.
