  1. What's the point of having [Swap Ammo], if it doesnt let me switch to silver bullets for all these dang werwolves?
  2. Yeah, I really wish it would work alongside Super Speed (for the +jump) and/or Combat Jumping (for the +Run speed). My only real dislike of it is the stationary pose. While the running animation doesnt fit all my characters, on the ones it does, it looks great. I wish I could get the jump+flip on pretty much all my characters, with a slight modification- there needs to be a higher cieling for when the flip kicks in- right now it happens if you jump higher than your head, which is fairly often, I'd like it to get bumped to to at least 10ft, maybe more like 20ft.
  3. Oh, that's an easy one- I've seen a lot of racist, suggestive, or just plain bad names over the last 6 years, but the one that still sticks in my mind is the time I saw "Butt Rapin' Billy" in Outbreak. I'm pretty sure he didnt make it out of the tutorial before getting generic'd

Pretty sure that's why we have multiple costume slots. Although I will grant you that a new "Liquid Metal" overall costume would be really nice, the old "Metallic" set badly needs to be updated.

Plus Invulnerability offers no Psionic resistance. Metal Armor would.
I'm not neccesarily sure that that makes sense. You might want it to include Psi resist, but there's no real argument that it should. The only "Metal Armor" guy I can really think of off the top of my head is Colossus, and he was still pretty vulnerable to Psi.

Hmm, I suppose you are correct. I guess I should say: I don't think they should proliferate it to Controllers UNTIL they fix the percieved inequality between Defenders and Controllers (Although something I heard about a new version of Vigilance will help, I think)
  6. a Dual Pistols Scrapper is still the top of my list- look at any "Gun-Fu" tyoe character and think of what their 'secondary' powerset is: either more melee, or something like Willpower/ Regen/ Super Reflexes- things that increase thier survivability.

Also, Sonics as a secondary for MMs, so I can make my rock star and his groupies.

I'f you're "standing around trying to buy" anything, you're doing it wrong. Take two minutes and think about what you're going to want tomorrow or next week, and put some bids in before you go play the game, go to work, go to bed, whatever. Odds are most of your bids will fill in the interim.
  8. between about 7 alts, I sold over a hundred lvl 35 End Mods @ $500K apiece over the weekend.
  9. Lvl 25 Generic IOs are 1% less effective than SOs. and they NEVER degrade, or have to be replaced. To me the little bit of extra time is worth the return of not having to worry about replacing them, and the cost is well worht it in the logn run, especially if you have the recipies memorized. I'm a little OCD, so I usually have a few characters on each server with the Crafting Table accolade, I get on them once in a while and just make a crapload of 15, 25, and 35 IOs and leave them in the base for my SG to pillage.
I haven't touched SOs/DOs since they came out. Usually, I run unenhanced until 12, since it doesnt take me very long to get there, even without PLing. At 12 I'll plug in some lvl 15 IOs (better % than DOs), and another round of generic IOs at 25. Around 30-35 is when I start looking at Sets or Frankenslotting, unless I really feel like I need to conserve slots before then.(frankenslotting 4 Dmg(or whatever primary effect is appropriate)/Acc/Rech is like having the power 6-slotted with SOs)

    Um.. what?!?

Ya know, the part that really threw me was it was JUST the two embalmed, no other Vazh around to mind them...

Unfortuanatlry my trigger finger was too itchy, and I wasted them all before what I'd seen fully registered in my mind.

Oh, and for the record, it was 6 Web Grenades. I frackin hate Web Grenade...
  11. Heartbreaker

    Um.. what?!?

I just did an Atlas Park Safeguard with my newest DP blaster, and got the Weapons Deal side mission. I go in to find a warehous full of Skulls, but right in the middle of it, are a pair of Hellions, making an arms deal with TWO EMBALMED CADAVERS!!!
  12. The biggest problem with the game today?

    Today's not July...
  13. So, I'm sure this will prompt ridicule and pity from some people, but my tired old computer (like so, but with 1.2 GB RAM) only has an AGP slot for the video card. Any chance there's a card out there I can buy that would support Ultra Mode? What exactly are the specifications I should be looking for?

Aside from the apparent lack of a 'Shader Clock", this Radeon card seems to compare favorably (unless ive miseed something) with this nvidia_geforce_9800, would it suffice?
  14. I support the general suggestion for a Martial Arts-themed secondary. however, I really, really dislike any of the ideas that include a web grenade-like power as the 1st tier choice. I personally cannot stand Web Grenade and hate that I am forced to take it so much that I avoid Devices altogether. Adding another set with Web Grenade as the buy-in power would be adding another set I have no use for. I'd much rather go with one of the Marital Arts kicks with reduced damage and increased secondary (Crane Kick = KB, Axe Kick = Immob, Thunder Kick = Disorient). With Power Customization allowing for punch animations, perhaps they should be renamed into 'Strike' instead of 'Kick'.
  15. Here's one of my old favorites. Plenty more in the album this came from, feel free to poke around

  16. I remember an old screenshot of someone Shadow Mauling something like 50 Rikti Monkeys at once...

I doubt many would do that, but I'm reasonably sure that many more would pay for 1-2 individual increases especially on characters that already have multiple billions invested in them.
In a heartbeat! 5 more Market slots means it's that much quicker to earn that billion back! That's the only 'problem' I'd see with this idea- while those slots may not mean much to the 'casual' gamer, to a serious marketeer they'd be invaluable. Each time I added more market slots, I'd be making my investment back that much sooner.
As far as extra salvage goes, while I'd love to havi it, It's a terrible idea in reality. My main can already hold like 80 Salvage on her person, plus another 50 or so in the Vault, and that's not even counting the ability to store stuff in the base. If I could hold another 150 on top of that, you'd NEVER see any Alchemical Silver for sale.

A mission teleporter (or teleporter with access to all zones) with no cooldown and a 100-250k inf cost would work wonders (I think that 1 mill is probably a bit steep to see much use)
This, on the other hand sounds like a great plan to me- 100k for a 1-shot Mission TP I wouldn't bat an eye at. Heck, even at a million per, I'd probably use it at least once a day.

I'd really like to see the list of craftable temp powers expanded in general. A 10-use Recall Friend, for instance, would get crafted every time I ran a TF. Or some other powers like the Hammer, Bat, and Pistol powers, that let me give my characters weapons not availible to thier powerset, even if just to show off- the Iron Blade from Croatoa, I'm thinking of you!

I find it interesting that you avoid mentioning the ones you inadvertantly copied, but don't have a problem listing the one character you still use.

On the subject of accidental offensive names, for a brief moment, I once considered naming my Female Outcast-wannabe "Gangbanger"...

fortunately, I reconsidered before hitting enter.
  19. I found TK Baja's leg, now we just need a Tome of Town POrtal and a Horadric Cube to take the fight to them.

That's technically true, but if you're doing the crafting yourself, lvl 20s are not worth the cost. For some reason there's a huge divide between the cost of lvl 15 IOs and lvl 20 IOs, so much so that you're better off sticking with the lvl 15s until you hit 22 and can slot the lvl 25 IOs.

Lvl 25 IOs are only 1% 'worse' than an SO, which I consider the 'trade off' for them never degrading or needing to be replaced.
  21. All of mine usually end up looking something like this:

Well, as you can see, it's actually Tray 9, but the idea is the same. Actually being tray 9 is a holdover from before
we got the ability to have the extra trays open, since its easiest to toggle tray 1 to tray 9. And it's actually usually the 3rd tray I configure.
Tray 1 is attacks on the Left, Aim/Build Up/etc in the 'middle', and combat mobility (CJ, sprinte, hover) on the right. Tray 2 is buffs,
long term toggles, and Movement powers- basically the right hand side is for stuff that I want to stay on onc eive toggled it. My melee
characters usually put any Ranged attacks in the left side here, and vice versa for ranged characters. Tray 3 doesnt get added till I get
enough powers to need it, or im a MasterMind- it usually has summons and longer recharge powers. Tray 9 gets stuck between chat
and my other powers, and holds all my misc stuff, like the various vet teleports and the portable crafting table.
Self-Destruct gets put on 8 where I can't accidentally activate it (note to self, do not place it next to Rest- bad idea), but can access it
relatively quickly should the need arise.

Actually, I think the Restaurant analogy is fairly accurate- It's a Restaurant (It's CoH). We all go there for the same reason, to eat. (We all play CoH). Some of us don't mind sharing our table with strangers (Inviting strangers to our team), while some of us only want to eat with the people we came with (our current team), even if that was nobody else (Soloing).

Well, except at a restaurant, we can all see if my Scrapper is hovering protectively over her chicken mcdeadlets, or my Controller is handing out samples, or my Controller is letting whoever walks by sample his wares. (The Blaster and the Tank are both in the parking lot, looking for a fight)
And I can also see wether that table is full of teenagers, a wedding party, or a bunch of gamers playing Magic...

In fact, you're right, It doesn't work- I'd actually be much more likely to approach a stranger's table at a restaurant than I would try inviting myself to a team.

Except it's not a full McD's, there are an infinite number of tables. and a pile of people standing around who'd like to share tables. Plus a ton of other people standing around waiting for someone else to take the initiative to choose a table...
  24. I'm really not a big fan of "reverse invites", to me it's akin to walking up to a stranger's table at McDonalds and having a seat. That being said, this guy overreacted a bit. Can't say for sure if he was really a jerk or just had his fill for the day- theres no real way to know if he's always like that, or if you were the 217th person to ask him that hour.
