  1. Presumably they did it because MMs and Defenders weren't getting invited.

This SF used to be the worst one in the entire game aside from the final battle in RSF under Atlas.

    I know, wtf.

The two things that kept me busy and here were MMs and building my base.

They're sorry...they invented popular, fun stuff because it was popular so thus, ummmm, distasteful?
  3. I'm heavily management-based MM, not pew pewing at all, just throwing traps or whatever while lackies do all the work.

So...I really need a good description of what works with pets. Which apparently will have two columns: What it's supposed to do and what it actually does

Also some of these things do +Special, without saying what that is.
  4. In MM, /traps.

    In scrappers, /regen.

    That is all.

Also Champions Online, you can start as a technologist, the main pets class, and once you get to a certain level, you can choose any powers from any sets, of course, and bam, you can run around with 12 pets or more.

Only my /thugs can exceed it by pulling Gang War out, and that's just a short period of time.

Plus you get dual machine gun turrets and dual healbot floaters to take care of 'em all, one of the more irritating aspects.

You'll note I back here though more often than not =D
  7. Wow, just clicked Claim All by mistake (didn't know it existed and have my UI set to small so couldn't read the button, thought it was generic "Claim") and bam bam bam bam bam they kept coming and coming and coming!

Thought it was a severe bug and Would Be Bad on the One-character-only list. Whew!

I...take it you can have multiple claimed respecs or tailor sessions and they won't evaporate or overwrite...
  8. Switched to a server I'm not normally on, and saw a couple of ancient level 2s with "4,439 days offline" =D

Yup, I remember creating them way back in 1999. Was getting a little bored with Ultima Online.

I love that -- ooh, I rolled a Mocking Beratement: 6" Spreading Urine Stain On Pants

By the way, you now have to be very careful when picking -- the second choice pops up first in the email list, so you might accidentally pick the wrong first choice. I nearly did this twice.

This. My MM can run 4x8s, I frequently run pretty much everything out in the real world that way. Except for bank missions. Why? Pretty much the same reason I suck at the warehouse part of Lambda. "Plow the road" is fun, but takes freakin' forever.

If you were farming, well, I'm sure people have analyzed the xp rates of +2 vs. +4.

Ooh, the part of love in the field of giant ticks is on. Oh noes! Ani fell! Is he hurt? I hope he isn't hurt!

Alpha is nice to have at T4 for anything except cardiac/vigor, to bypass more ED. Cardiac/vigor don't really need to be T4'd because you usually wouldn't be ramming the ED cap for end reduction.
Cardiac might be of interest for a tank -- it would let them offload some slotting from endurance reduction. I have tier 4 in my MM, and the 45% reduction is a godsend (traps MM, takin' a kneel almost constantly ) because all slotting is oriented around, well, everything useful *except* endurance reduction.
  13. I wanted the bioluminescence armor, which is part of the mutant super booster pack, but I decided to buy the whole thing rather than piecemeal over the point system.

It seems to not exist anymore. Any links from external sites to it get not found errors, and the City of Heroes store just has two items: Freedom, for free, and the VIP starter kit.

Did the super booster packs disappear? Is the only way to get it by points?
  14. Thanks! I will budget two of my 3 slots into FFG for those.
  15. Ok, I don't expect it to affect anyone under the bubble, but would at least it affect me?

    A. Always on me?
    B. FFG must be called?
    C. FFG must be called and me under it?

    Would it affect my pets?

I speak of the Luck of the Gambler 7.5% recharge speed and/or Karma Knockback Protection.

I am not taking combat jumping, so (I think) I only have this for a defense sets bonus. Ideally I'd just slot them in FFG and they just work, no calling.

If the power must be "on", ala combat jumping, then what?

ETA: I'm paused at 49 looking for places for my last three slots and don't want to put 2 (or 1) more into FFG (has 3 +defs) unless they will work. New account and don't have any respecs yet

Actually, I was so mad I was planning on doing a report, but fortunately I settled down enough to ask the guy why he kicked me, giving him the benefit of the doubt. That's why I came here to beak off about it instead. He didn't really do anything wrong.

Whether he was doing a "16 man" for lag reasons, or he had a private group of friends, or wanted to feel studly doing it with fewer people, I don't know. Nor do I care -- since he can kick people, there should be better ways to keep unwanted people out in the first place.

If I'm kicked, I have to re-queue. Now *that* is irritating, devs.

Well, part of the wonder of the new system is that you don't have to do this -- this works hand-in-hand with the fact it can take awhile to build up enough people to start a (random, PUG-like) league.

Thus you can run around doing other things -- a solo mission, crafting, AHing, etc. and not just stand there bored while waiting.

The devs can't stop kicking, or else you'd end up with lazy people standing at the entrance waiting for free xp. So they have to be able to kick.

I was already an old hand at gaming when UO and EQ came out. People should be able to create teams, including full leagues, with exactly and only the people they want. Therefore there should be the option to prevent random adds through the LFG mechanism to prevent people like me from getting kicked in the first place.

If I have to wait longer, so be it. I don't want the devs "fixing" my irritation at a long wait by having the game shoehorn me into any league, wanted or not, that's next up for entry.

Let's put it bluntly, ignoring the lazy player issue, I don't think it wise to prevent kicks just so the singletons can "get into a league" on a more timely basis -- and I'm regularly just that kind of player.
  18. Apparently the LFG tab's mechanics added me to a private run or something. I watched the movie after it started, called my pets, went inside, and then shortly found myself with the Cap loading screen.

Asking the leader why I was kicked, they said I was an add on his private 16-man BAF run.

Fair enough, but why was I added? It wasted my time inside, but worse, it wasted my 15 minute "first available" wait outside.

Worse, I have to get in another queue to run again -- with no guarantee I won't accidentally be placed on someone else's private run.

I don't know the solution, but it's a problem. Clearly you need to let people tag private runs and/or let the lead refuse people without costing the randomly-queued applicants their spot in the queue. It's irritating enough the "3 min estimated" waits are really 10-15 minutes. But to waste the bigger wait for no good reason is really bad.
  19. Don't mess with my triage if it lessens the heal! It's highly useful as is. It's never been an oh s*** save me power.

It's power is, indeed, in longer fights, especially in fights without a tank to suck up the damage. As the monsters forget this or that person and focus on another, it's putting out a tremendous hp per second, total, across the group as a whole.

With pets to divide the monsters' attentions even more, it becomes even more powerful.
  20. Ahh, I was looking for exactly this, for some proc I could add to triage.

So: Dropping the triage beacon on the ground counts as a "cast", and I get the buff for 120s, end of story.

Doesn't affect people who are being affected by the triage, which is what I really was hoping for. Got it.

I shouldn't have budgeted 4 slots for heal in it. So it's either a third recharge red. or another heal for an additional 8% or so (4 total).

Any ideas for something besides a heal or a recharge reduction in that slot? 2 rech and 3 heals already.
  21. It's definitely poorly worded. I wonder if it's an auto-generated description.

Even so, that it's gauntlet providing the AOE and not the fact it's the mace attack proper, and this could be called out separately in the description. Calling it an AOE attack when it's not actually an AOE attack ("taunt" is, by very definition of being fake massive damage, not an actual "attack").

As I've chosen powers and slotting for tankiness first over attacks, I wanted the best AOE swing possible with my one non-baby, non-taunt attack, to wiffle-bat down groups, and that seemed like Clobber, based on damage and the fact it's AOE was the same, apparently, as other attacks.

Technically, gauntlet isn't even a property of the attack itself, in theory. It's a property of tanker.
  22. I took primary D stuff over attacks, but I took one that looked the best, further down, "Clobber". It says it is an AOE with 7 foot range and 5 targets max.

I have been unable to get it to hit two things, no matter how I face, or align them. I even had two lined up, one right behind the other, and still nothing. Even facing into a group of Rikti monkeys never hit more than one. I don't know how they define "7 feet", but it's clearly less than 3 feet, such that even a Rikti monkey right behind another, as close as possible, is too far away.

So is the description incorrect? I feel ripped off =D
  23. I've bought extra char slots several times now. I have just used up my last slot from my most recent purchase (alt-o-holic, not a guy grinding out 50s one after the other )

Anyway, coincidentally, I have filled up three full columns of characters on the character select screen. If I buy more, will this open up a fourth column?

If not, I don't wanna buy any more.
  24. My first logon today I got this message. A crash yesterday, 18 hours ago, would long since have timed out and auto-logged.

But then I logged out correctly, and logged back in about an hour later. I thought the first time I had double-clicked the mouse and it was a timing issue, so I hit enter this time after typing the password.

    Same issue.

So...either my account is hacked or there is a new bug.
