Max Number of Character Slots Per Server, Including Purchases?

Nope. 36 slots is the max. If you buy more slots then you can only use them on other servers.
They did this to avoid the eventuality of someone buying the Fifth Column.

I've bought extra char slots several times now. I have just used up my last slot from my most recent purchase (alt-o-holic, not a guy grinding out 50s one after the other
)
Anyway, coincidentally, I have filled up three full columns of characters on the character select screen. If I buy more, will this open up a fourth column?
If not, I don't wanna buy any more.
