Ha.
And I thought he meant using a Controller...as in a hero.
Doh! -
Holy cow does that sound like a really stupid system.
Silly me for thinking I was doing the right thing.
No wonder I didn't get into base building until now.
And I've been plunking away with CoH since July 2004.
Geesh.
Thanks for the info fellas. -
My small SG base is rather new - started this past December.
The rent is 400 prestige a month based on the 4 storage items I have in there.
When I logged on during the end of Jan I would see the message saying 400 prestige rent is due by Feb 1st. I paid the rent on 31 Jan at the NPC in City Hall, where I first established the base, with my SG leader hero.
Logged in the next day (Feb 1st) and no "rent due" messages, so all is well.
Now when I log on it says 400 prestige rent is due by 15 Feb.
What the???
Rent is due every two weeks now?
Is this a bug? -

So the Flea has wandered over to Freedom too.
I wonder how many other long-time Justiceites have drifted this way.
I brought my entire horde of toons over, cuz this place is active and rocks!
Let the Aussies have Justice.
Just give me my FREEDOM!!! -

This made me laugh out loud while at work!

I tend to work on my many alts sitting in the 32-42 range during double xp events.
I still find playing from levels 1-25 rather fun and it goes by real fast these days, will all the game enhancements added over the years.
To me the 30s are still a bit of a slow grind and the double xp helps me push a few toons through a lot of this.
I slow down playing toons once they get in the 45-49 range, cuz I enjoy the journey way too much to see my heroes hit 50 and retire.
I'm not interested in playing any toon that can't earn xp...I just don't see the point when I have achieved pretty much everything I wanted to along the way to 50 and I have a ton of other heroes that are starving to kick some baddie butts! -
Sounds like Thursdays are looking the best for most.
I have a buddy who may want to join us as well. He's out of town at the moment so I'll check with him asap.
Any chance we want to try and start this Thursday, Jan 14th? -
I'm really thinking Tanker after all.
Likely an electric or shield/electric hero.
Mon, Tues, Wed, or Thur from 9pmEST - 11pmEST works best for me. -
All my toons went to Freedom and Virtue for one main reason...significantly better chance of teaming.
For very casual, PuG friendly, non-soloing type of players like me, this was the smartest thing I've done since joining CoH in July 2004.
To each his own. -
Fellow heroes,
I'm game to get in on this.
I recently moved over to Virtue and Freedom after 5+ years on Justice, for a variety of reasons, one of which is to find a good, fun group to run with. I'm a very casual player due to life's demanding responsibilities, but I am a 64+ month vet who still really enjoys this game for the journey & stories of my created heroes.
I'm in the US east coast time zone and most available to start at 9pmEST at the earliest, and usually play a few nights a week from 9pm-11pm and whenever I can find time on the weekends.
I'm mostly a scrapper first, followed closely by tanker and blaster. With that said, I'd like to use this opportunity to expand my playing experience by rolling up a controller (I've only made one since July 2004!) or a Defender. I've had an idea for a plant controller swirling in my head for a few months now. However, lately I have created a couple of really fun tanks that I wouldn't mind re-rolling. I prefer the heavy defense/taunting type tanks.
I very much like running traditional missions from contacts and doing police scanner missions on occasion for the temp travel powers and to add a quick, fun side mission once in a while. Not at all into farms of any kind.
Thanks. -
Kill Justice? No.
Kill other servers with low player populations? Very likely IMO.
I started making a few alts on Freedumb last year, and like Phillygirl, have met some wonderful players over there.
I have used the free transfer gift to move a few more toons to Freedom and decided to give Virtue a try, cuz quite honestly, I have had a really tough time this past year finding teams on Justice, and I pride myself in being an excellent PuG Master.
Justice has always yielded some really good & fun players, but for us casual gamers, our play time can be very limited and sometimes we want to max out our time logged on with quickly building & running big teams.
More players on Freedom & Virtue = more chances of quickly assembling a team and knocking out some missions, TFs, etc.
Can't argue the logic.
PS: It really seems like the vast majority of the idiot noobs have left Freedom; they probably left CoH for Champions or the next great shiny game that came along.
Justice still rocks, but nothing like it used to back in the hey days of 2004-2007. -
Quote:I've been playing since July 2004 and I also find Ninja Run to be one of my absolute favorite imprevements to the game.I'd say the Natural pack for Ninja Run. I have the Vet Reward allowing a travel power at level 6, and Jet Packs are available to one and all now with a minor outing to the Shadow Shard or Grandville, yet I still find Ninja Run to be one of my favorite improvements to quality of life.

Are all the toons created by a person under a trial account saved on the servers for an indefinte period of time?
If this person came back to the game a few months later and activated a full subscription, would all their toons created back under the 14-day trial period still be there?
Thanks. -

Nope. Turing the hero around does nothing to help align the camera angle/view to let me grab objects and stack them.
-
Are there any limitations to rotating the camera angle when in the 2x2 rooms?
I just started my first base and I'm trying to stack storage racks (using the lamps/safes & floor tile methods) in my 2x2 workshop, but I can't get the camera to rotate at all - only zoom in and out.
If I exit the editor, everything works just fine using my right mouse button to rotate the camera angle. Is there an option in the keymapping I'm missing?
Thanks. -
Quote:Yea - like peterpeter mentioned, I was thinking more along the lines of new content added to some of the less-frequented zones, like new mission arcs, TFs, NPCs, stores, etc. but leaving the zones intact as they are. For one, I really like the look of Boom Town just the way it is, only there isn't much reason to travel there often. Same goes for Dark Astoria and the Shadow Shards (IMO).I think this is one of those times when the devs and the players use the same word to mean different things. When the devs hear "revamp" they think "delete the entire zone and build an entirely new zone from scratch, keeping nothing but the name." When the players use the word revamp, I think most of us mean something more like "add new missions to a zone so we have something fun to do when we go there."
I know I'd be thrilled if they dropped a few contacts into Dark Astoria with Faultline style missions arcs, capped off by a nice task force. Maybe they could squeeze in a field hospital and a contact who gives repeating random missions, like they did with the Hollows mini-vamp.
On the other hand, it would be entertaining if they skipped the hospital and put in a zone-wide prison, like the prisons in certain CoT and Council missions. If you die anywhere in the zone or in any mission in the zone and hit the hospital button, then you wake up in the middle of a BP ritual with a shaman ready to steal your soul.
As for all new zones (like when we got Croatoa and RWZ) I'm always for new zones, new baddies, new story arcs, and some of the quality of life things like adding a hospital, stores, or train stations where there weren't any before.
Remember running the entire length of Skyway to get to the original Faultline before they added the Green Line train stop in the south end? Eeeegads that was rough. -
Quote:Awesome, thanks.Gunn,
If you want a quick run through stacking and a little practice, shoot me an IM and create an alt over on Protector.
I'll be happy to give you Stacking 101 and some practice space. I have an entire workshop room already done, so you can see what I did, and another one that's mostly empty with a few hundred thousand prestige to play with .
Shoot me a PM through the board, or send me a tell in game.
@Hyperstrike1
I really want to learn how to stack.
I was able to finally make some good progress - once I sold back the 1x2 room and got a 2x2 room. I was confusing some of the room sizes.
I'll drop you a note in-game once I get a chance to; will likely be sometime in the evenings east coast time.
Thanks again all.
