Thanks, Zamuel! That's kinda what I thought, but wanted to be sure.
I will check out @Paula's arcs too. -
Good morning all,
I'm putting some effort towards one of my favorite characters, a Level 35 "Superman" analogue with Super Strength/Invulnerability, Flight, and Leadership. While I've already got him kitted out with some IOs, I'm thinking of a Respec and wanted to get serious with a good rebuild. What can you guys suggest as good IO sets to use? -
Good morning all,
I've finally gotten a story together that I feel is worthy of making a MA story around, and I'm not too proud to ask for help along the way.
F'rinstance, could someone give me an example of the "Mission Begin Clue"? Not sure if I want to use one or not. -
Quote:Y'know back in the day, DC Comics had a tounge-in-cheek continuity keeper called Jonni DC, Continuity Cop.Do they get a really nifty outfit? Maybe a sword (or at least a cudgel?)
Alternately needing a long white beard, robes, and a heavy leather-bound book. (Beard optional if the keeper is female.)
(Not disagreeing in the slightest. I just now have this image of the Keeper of Continuity in my head, walking up behind someone writing something fairly out of whack and hitting them on the head with The Tome.)
Yes, I'm serious. She looked like this:

You're welcome. -
Hey, I just stopped in to say "Welcome Back", Mashuguna!
Go. Hunt. Kill Skuls. (still) -
-
I did verify files...twice. And it IS super-annoying. I think I'm gonna go check elsewhere too. Thanks, Goat.

No, Goat, I'm at the Login screen...it's just after I put in my password that I have to force quit in order to do anything.
Also, the Task Manager identifies the CoH client program as "Not Responding". -
Hi all,
Got my updates, but when I go to run the client program to log in I get "locked up" after I enter my password to log in. Just happened today after the new update. Any ideas? -
Quote:Yeah I don't do more than three missions at a stretch if I'm not in a TF or trial or such. I don't want to feel "grindy and bored", so I usually quit while I'm ahead...so to speak. Is it just me or is a couple of hours plenty?
Granted, I often play in short sittings every now and then when I get the chance but like to leave myself wanting to play just a bit more before logging. You know? Leave them wanting more? It's how I play my characters too: switch to a new or old alt while you're still interested in the one you're playing. -
Riff, good luck with your future. While you and I never played together, it's obvious your Defiant peeps will miss you, and no loss of a long-term player is good for a game...particularly as one as tightly-knit as ours.
We'll have a fresh costume ready if you make your way back. -

Quote:DC was "supposed" to do a "soft relaunch", whatever that's supposed to mean, with the Batman and Green Lantern titles continuing as they were...ergo, not the "whole universe".Bits and pieces maybe, but not the whole universe like DC did. It's just a relaunch of various series as far as I know
Marvel (and prior to that, DC) can call it whatever they want, but they're "redoing things", and it will effect EVERYTHING. -
Quote:Goliath - DiDio and his team said the same about DCnU...and look how that worked out for the DC Nation fanboys (of which I'm a MASSIVE fan-nerd, so I'm not picking). They say it isn't going to be a reboot, so maybe it won't be too bad.
(without Groot, though)
No, the only thing that surprises me is that it's taken this long for Marvel to follow suit. -
JayboH,
Thank you for rescuing the "Justice Avengers" videos. I loved those things! Great that you got in touch with Pete Mitchell, too. He's got a fan in PA.
Now...where'd I put my rage suit... -
For those of you who don't know, I am a dyed-in-the-wool DC Comics fanboy. Superman has been my favorite character since I was old enough, followed closely by Batman...and you can see I have a strong affinity for Green Lantern as well.
Anyway like many old schoolers I've suffered through many of the roadbumps of the post-Flashpoint DCnU. I'm not going to rehash what many folks have already brought up, nor am I going to beat any dead horses. But fergawdsake, what is it with the barrage of acronym agencies? A.R.G.U.S., S.H.A.D.E., N.O.W.H.E.R.E...I know there's a few I'm missing now. Is it me, or does the acronym agency idea already seem like a great concept that's already been run into the ground?
(Apologies, of course, to U.N.C.L.E. and S.H.I.E.L.D.)
(P.S. Someone else can address the overabundance of "Tron suits") -
Quote:That...is kinda brilliant. It would actually make more sense if they *didn't* remove him from the game. Chronologically, he'd be killed in Who Will Die, but later during Maria Jenkins' arc we'd find out he'd actually been kidnapped by Emperor Cole months ago and replaced by a clone, which would explain why Darrin Wade's powers faded at the end of the fight (Darrin drained the clone's powers, and the clone's connection to the well was artificial, far from stable). After you rescue the real Statesman from Emperor Cole, you would unlock Statesman's Taskforce and begin your own incarnate career.

Quote:Deacon -I'm pretty with you there. I (mostly) liked "The Cape", and sat through ever season of "Heroes". Hell I even liked "No Ordinary Family".I'm such a comic fan-boy, that I have a pretty high tolerance for "bad" that I can watch if it's comic related. This exceeds that tolerance.
Will not watch.
I think "Arrow" is where I'm drawing the line. Or drawing the bow, as the case may be. -
No comment on "Green Lantern" yet? I have grandaughters over and may not get to see Saturday's/Sunday's shows until as late as Monday. Hmph.
-
-
Not me. I think Kalder/Kaldor/Whatever straight-up hates Aquaman, and this his how he's electing to show it. I'll be happy to admit if I'm wrong, however.
-
I find this amazingly uninspiring, yet can definitely see myself watching the first episode.
We'll see. -

Quote:Oh yeah, I know that, I've definitely heard them in different shows and series...but I'm talking about "randomly around the house", or out in public. You might not actually be as crazy as you think! (I'm sure you're partially crazy; we all are; we're playing a superhero game, after all.)
Most (if not all) of the original ambient noises, beeps and blips, songs, etc. were available in a pay-for pack. I've heard some "CoH sounds" in commercials, other games, movies, etc. -
All kidding aside, I sometimes think I hear the game sound effects at weird moments. I know I'm just HEARING things, but these SFX have really imbed themselves in my brain over the years.
