If you are not only looking for 40+ teams but any team that will reward XP, hang out in Talos. Teams are usually forming there nightly in the 20-40 range and you will still get XP regardless of the level. Got to love super side-kicking.

    Take that as you will.
    They lacked your moral support?

This is going to be a real problem. The damage needs to hit BEFORE the animation finishes or they are never going to get a kill in a large team. I stopped attacking sometimes so they could get a kill.
Broad Sword users have been dealing with this for years. Nothing new.

So true. Trials are about the only place you will run into another tanker on a consistent basis.
  5. My only complaint is there is no decent hammers. The fusion hammer is pretty cool but I would have loved to see a normal yet oversized warhammer.

I made a Inv/TW but did not play him a whole lot as of yet.

    Johnny Sonata = awesome.

Uh oh. The clickable computer has typos and repeated words. It's started already!

Sister Psyche should be unbuffable. Buffs make her stand up.

    Second Mission:

Giza map is awesome. Much respect for not making the Goldbrickers look like anime characters. (Ala the "Luddite" contact from one of the other SSAs.)

Darrin Wade being there at the start = awesome

Mercedes Sheldon is kinda cool. AH. ****. SHE MENTIONED THE RULU-SHIN! That's gonna annoy me for a while now.

One of the mafia goons said they couldn't handle me because I was a super. That's cool. Nice to have the game world recognize I'm a badass once in a while.

    Oh Hardcase showed up. Dope.

So Darrin Wade is the guy behind it? lol. Okay I can dig d-list characters being given a push. Respect for using an old character rather than a lame new one covered in shiney armour, spikey shoulders, and fedoras.

    Mission 3:

Holy ****. Best map ever alert.

Oh check it out. Jumping to a diff map. Dope.

    Uh. More typos.

WTF. MIND ****. (And lol Black Positron.)

"But when I hear Xanatos... for some reason, I associate that with some sort of defender."

    Damn right.

Different conversational arcs are cool. I like it.

Darrin Wade and Malaise both have ponytails, goatees, and sunglasses. Geek "cool" at it's finest. I applaud the self-restraint in not making them also wear fedoras.

Oh Positron is now super important. Oh he helped form the Phalanx? Oh Xanatos gets to "tag along" with him? Lame.

Overall: Actually enjoyed this one. Better than the last three by a long shot. Felt like an actual superhero story. (Rare for this game.) Please give VIPs access to these maps in the MA.
Completely agree with this assessment. Not a whole lot of fighting in this arc but the scenes and maps rocked. I was also thrown by the "tag along" comment. Made me feel like my character was sub par compared to the Freedom Phalanx.

So they should post negative comments on their product? I assume that is what you meant.
  8. There is alot of concern about the end usage of Titan Weapons, why not slot for end reduction? I plan to go Inv/TW for my tanker and I will just place at least 1 end reducer in each attack.

Back to your point though -

I am a little unsure what you are getting at when you say that there were many good players there and then find yourself unable to play your character that could essentially nearly solo the TF. That sounds like a contradiction to me.
It was more of a concern that this was a sign of the times kind of moment. But, I can see by the responses here it may have just been an isolated occurance.

I thought the same, but when they asked me to alt they did not specify they wanted a support class. The Apex was successful and we got the Master badge in the one run, but it was still unsettling. I put alot of time in my Tanker to make him as awesome as I can. Best IOs, top Tier Incarnate abilities, I use and seek the best temp powers, etc.
  13. I ran into this situation last night for the first time in the few years I have been playing my Tankers.

I got invited to a Apex TF and since there was a Tanker already on the team I was asked to switch. I was told there was no need to have 2 tankers. The rest of the team was a couple scrappers, blaster, corrupter and a Widow. I suppose I could have argued my case that my Tanker has Tier 4 in all incarnate slots, a complete IO build slotted for Max HP and Regen, etc. But did not see it as being worth it.

I should add that I respect the person forming the team and know they had no intentions of offending me or presuming my tanker could not hold his own with the other DPS characters. In the end I just switched to my Ill/Rad controller.

Does any of the other tanker players run into this when they join PuGs for TFs? If so, how do you handle it?
  14. This is the build I use on my Cold/Ice defender. Solos quite effectively. Does not come close to the Incarnate defense cap but with the amount of buffs being thrown around in your average trial it should not make a big difference.

  15. I have not bothered to check on my controllers, but do the pets get the level shift bonus like Lore pets in trials? If not I can see the problem.
  16. I like my female toons to be sexy. Am I in the minority?

As for equality, the more costume options the better. With the exception of my namesake character, none of my toons use the complete set as provided.

What people are asking for is the devs to give us what they're saying they're giving us. And to give us more options.

Also, you're falling into the fallacy of false dichotomies here, because you can only see "skimpy" and "man clothing", when there's a nice middle ground that pretty much gets no exploration by the art devs.
So if they changed the name of the pack to Old West or something similar this whole thread could be dropped? I know I would have issue if they did not have the bar maid outfit in the set.

I bought the set but found the male Gunslinger pieces lacking.
  18. Virtue TFs 2010 works best for me, or just stand around in RWZ1 waiting for someone to broadcast iTrial forming.
  19. I don't see any issues with it. They are costumes representing dress of those periods in time. Sure there are exceptions to the rule but you can only incorporate so many pieces in one set. If the female version got all the male pieces you would have players complaining about not having the female only pieces.
  20. Sounds like a great idea for people without access to global channels and broadcast like F2P users. I would even use it myself when I just feel like playing with random people.

Anything that needs to be "tanked" in this game can have its aggro held by a Brute or Scrapper and they can equally sustain any damage as well as a tank assuming both are built equally well.
This. The game needs to be harder or the way aggro is generated changed so it is much much harder for a brute or scrapper to hold aggro compared to a tanker. In clutch situations where something needs to be "tanked" nothing should compare to have a pure tanker on the team.
