  1. Awesome stuff, all!

We don't have much, and I don't have pics, sadly.

But we have the Good Ash/ Bad Ash dual set, Marv from Sin City, Sylar, and Alice from American McGee's Alice, all still in box.
  2. I personally think builds should stay in the forums of the AT in which they belong.

If I'm looking for help on my Blaster, for instance, I shouldn't have to sift through builds of other Archetypes.

Build Workshop, while a good idea in theory, (I can see Premium and F2P's having a spot to go to for inspirations without having to deal with the search captcha if you're not logged in,) just further subdivides the forums.

    Simpler is always better.
  3. Personally, before we got Fitness for free, I rarely took Travel Powers on any character. Some of my favorite characters from comics don't have a travel power, so why should I?

Now it's just "Oh, I have 3 free powers.... hmm, I guess Recall Friend and Super Jump and X."

We have too many ways to travel around the city: trams, SG teleports, Teleport to Contact, Ouro, Jet Packs, those superjump packs, Pocket D access, and Vanguard Base that making travel powers inherent would be silly.
  4. While your costume looks great to me, if I was hosting a costume contest, I still wouldn't consider it for any place, much less first.

Not trying to anger anyone, but I tend to notice a trend in costume contest judges. There used to be a very popular and awesome SG on Freedom (that may still be around, I'm not sure) that held a costume contest every Saturday night. They chose a new judge every week from their SG, and invariably the costumes they chose as the winners were, in my opinion, not worthy of winning.

    Now, the big WHY?

Costumes are like music, movies, tv shows, games, and powersets. It's all subjective.

We all like to think our costumes are awesome and the best thing ever. But it's not the case. Our costumes (and bios) are, to us, full of wonder and we're geniuses.

To someone else, they are just meh.

I'm not trying to say I design outstanding costumes, it's just that when I've been in the rare costume costume contest I attend and get selected as a finalist, I get several people saying "seriously?" or "WTF?" or "How did that get selected and mine didn't?"

I love my costumes. I work hard on them. So does my fiancee, so does everyone else that I know, and I can tell you did as well, but I pretty much think everyone of her costumes looks like a thrown together mishmash of parts, just as she thinks mine are, and we both think our friends are.

This is why I rarely join, or even agree to judge a CC, because everyone thinks their costume is the best, but only the people judging will pick the ones that match what they think is awesome.
  5. Gah, now I want some hot dogs.

    But relish? Ugh, no thanks.
  6. I've been playing the MST3k MMO for years.

It's awesome! Especially when you have friends to play along with you.

The framerate is awesome, there's never any lag (unless the movie is interrupted by a commercial) and it is available on any system ever made!
  7. I'd rather have Flea's stuffed animal pants. Nothing says "serious" like a man in pants covered in floppy fuzzy animals.

I can't believe I didn't mention that one. I loved that show! I even have the soundtrack from it.
  9. MMO Maker: The MMO of MMO Designing

You play a dev working on an MMO. You can undertake such exciting missions as "Forum Moderator Duty" "Beta Inviter" and "GM Duty!"

Earn darkside points for banning people, or not helping. Earn XP for your game being called "Teh SuXx0r!!!11!!!"
  10. /SR is awesome. I have 2 at 50 at the moment.

I'd still suggest kat/wp or anything /wp for your first character, though. That gives you a nice go-to character for all content, it's cheap to slot and is a set and forget.

    Vampire Movies

I'm glad TrueGentleman said "Shadow of the Vampire" because I was beginning to think I was the only one who had ever seen that film.

And yes, I mentioned "Near Dark" on the other thread,it's great as well.

"The Hunger" is good, if a bit out there.

By the way, if you all loved Mystery Science Theater 3000, the guys have formed Rifftrax, and Ana is currently watching their version of "Twilight: New Moon" Honestly it's been the only way I've ever been able to sit through one of those crappy movies.

For you werewolf and wendigo loves, check out "Ravenous."

    Base Question...

Ah, I was thinking you had to be in edit mode to do that for some reason. Sorry for the confusion. I've been up all night, as usual.

    Base Question...

If you're asking if there's a way to lockout people from editing the base, which is what I'm reading it as, it's on the Supergroup> Settings options.

We're not talking about a computer game though, we're talking about tabletop roleplaying games.

And there are over a hundred varieties of each class from just D&D alone: Fighters, Rangers, Paladins, Rogues, Bards, Clerics, Druids, Monks, Barbarians, Wizards and Sorcerers.

And don't get me started on multi-classing.

In my current World of Darkness game, some of the characters being played by my group are, a florist, an exotic dancer, a paranoid conspiracy theorist/ blogger, an art gallery owner, a weapons designer, and a telepath.

Computer games, even ones as great as City will never be able to get as in-depth as a good GM and a group of friends can in a tabletop game.

Same here. Is Steelclaw actually the lead singer of The Bangles, Susanna Hoffs? I had such a crush on her in high school.

    Susanna, I mean, not Steelclaw.

One of these days, someone is going to ask me to recommend a vampire movie that's as close as possible to the real world myths.

And I'll say "pretty much any George Romero movie"
Personally, I'd say the film "Near Dark" and the novel "Vampire$" by John Steakley.

That so reminds me of Ana when she first started playing. She was also on her Arch/EM blaster and got Rain of Arrows.

We were duoing a mish, I went in "crazy mad scrapper" and she hit Rain.

From across the room she starts screaming "Oh my god!!! Did you just see what I just did?? Did you? I did that didn't I? It wasn't you, was it??!!?? Tell me it was me!!!"

Of course, now she's all cocky with it, but that first time she used it was hilarious!

    Sr/Dm Decent?

    Hey Prometheus!

Speaking from a scrapper point of view, my DM/SR, back in the heyday of the buzzsaw build was a thing of beauty. Even with that gone, it's still a solid set.

DM compliments /SR with it's -to hit and it's heal. It's a very synergistic combination, like chocolate and peanut butter!

I haven't tried it on a tank, but I'm sure it's just as good as the Scrapper and Brute versions that I have tried, and I have capped 2 /SR Scrappers and 1 /SR Brute in my day. The Brute is long gone (this was before side switching and I get bored of Redside real fast,) but it was a fun run.

EDIT: to add, yes, /SR is viable at end game. My claws/sr runs +4/x8 smoothly.
  21. Comments sent to your global!

Great idea for a storyline, I'd love to see this as a multi-part series. Savoy was way too tough for my solo blaster though.
  22. Sure, I'll give it a run through real quick. Trying to pack up for our move, but I'm taking a short break.

    The Walking Dead

    (QR)

It was a poignant and pivitol scene, especially in Shane's character development, but what really kind of threw it off for me was Shane's lines, which made me laugh.

"I'm sorry," and then later, "let go, mang!"

"sorry, mang!" seems to be Shane's go to line.

I somewhat enjoyed both, but they're two very different shows. I'll watch the next few episodes of each before I make any final decision.
I know that. I stated earlier I liked Grimm better than OUAT.

The comment on Red Riding Hood was referring to Meghan Ory's version of the character in OUAT, and not the kidnapped and killed girls in Grimm.

Sarcastic statements don't translate well into text, especially after me having been up all night, so I'm sorry you misread that last part of my post as me being serious and not realizing that I had seen, and enjoyed Grimm, much more than OUAT on first viewing.

Meghan Ory is still hot, though.
