Quote:How would one badge per year cheapen anything? No. The whole point of badges is that you have you earn them somehow. This would cheapen it.
Edit: You are, as you said, "earning them somehow" by logging in during the event. There are plenty of badges i.e. anniversary, holiday, etc... that you get just for logging in during an event.
Quote:"Hey cool, you got the Master of Statesman Task Force! I heard that one was tough."
"Nope, all I had to do was log into COX 1260 times last month."
"Aw, I just started playing this month, guess I missed the free badges."
"No worries, they'll do it again next year."
Edit: On second thought, why on earth should MO badges be excluded? They don't give you any special powers or anything and the likelihood of getting one would be very small. The hardcore badgers that have over 1100 badges would most likely already have all their MOs, as well as, their accolades anyway. Imo, most people go for their accolades first and MOs not too long after that. I could be wrong but that makes sense to me. -
I like the self button that's a great idea. I don't see the devs letting us send stacks of items though. That's the whole purpose of the one at a time feature. To keep us from having the ultimate storage bin.
-
I just thought of an idea that could be held once a year. I was thinking for the anniversary celebration but it could be for any other event and still work. When you log in any toon within the month of the anniversary you get a mystery gift temp power. When you open it it gives you one randomly selected badge that the toon doesn't already have. Unopened gifts would expire at a pre-determined date. It could even include badges that would otherwise be impossible to get like previous year's anniversary badges. The likelihood of receiving one of the really rare badges would be low because the badge that would be awarded would be completely at random based on the remaining badges that toon doesn't already possess. Obviously, for hardcore badgers that have 1100+ badges the odds get better.
Edit: Accolades would be excluded. You could get one of the badges that are part of the accolade but not the accolade itself because multiple badges are required to receive the accolade itself. -
I'd have to say my favorite is a MOapex. I've gotten really good at helping others get the master on this one. It's easy and fast. The merit rewards are also awesome which is why Tin Mage is my second favorite.
-
I'd like to see new powersets. Whips should be given to other sets besides mastermind. I would also like to see a better rewards system for Cathedral of Pain and also some drops in it. The way it is now it's really hard to find people who want to do it.

I'm trying to figure out why my def isn't capped on this build. What did I do wrong?

There's some HUGE problems with your thought process. You're assuming that people only use these sets for PvP for one thing. I personally do not PvP very much but I choose to put at least a couple of PvP IOs in every build I make. The first toon that comes to mind is my main. I have a panacea proc in health and a glad's armor proc in tough. I saved for months to get them and I'm really proud of my build. I consider him to be one of the best corruptors on Freedom and I'm not alone. If those IOs were to suddenly become useless for PvE then I would have wasted all that time and investment. I would have to rebuild my toon all over again. Secondly, why fix what isn't broken? The reason PvP sets are so hard to get is because they are supposed to be. Get over it.

I just wanted to thank the devs for the incarnate system. It has brought new life to the game and there aren't as many people in Atlas or Cap farming AE. People are actually playing the game again. There are more people too. Freedom and Virtue are showing red regularly when I log in. This is the best improvement to the game in a very long time.
-
I checked the server status and all of the servers say unknown this normally happens a few minutes before and after the servers come back up. I tried to login and got all the way to the server selection screen. When I clicked on Freedom it kicked me out and said to try a different server. My guess they will be back up momentarily. I'm going to keep trying.

Quote:The answer to this problem is the farmers need to use their tix for salvage instead of recipes. Quite a few formerly expensive recipes are going for chump change now while salvage prices are skyrocketing. I've made more inf. selling salvage lately than I have at crafting. That's why I've switched. If others do this everything will even out eventually.Well, I am hoping that it is Issue 19, even if all they include is the inherent Fitness pool, it'll still be something that the players could really use. :-)
It would be a shame if it was just another patch for AE farms . . . Although, I would enjoy a global salvage storage for each paid account of somewhere between 300 to 1,000 capacity, I feel certain the devs won't do that for us, even though it would allow us to spend more time playing the game, and less time jumping from character to character to see which one has the salvage we need. Recently, some common invention salvage on the Black Market and Wentworth's has been going for over 1 million each. If people could store more salvage, perhaps by having the already existing Vault locations as a global salvage storage interface, that would help considerably. -
Hopefully you're wrong. I think at first people will take their time but boredom will set in as it always does and we'll go back to speed runs. Works for me, I think speed runs are the fastest way to slot out your incarnates anyway. Just do the one that gives you the specific component that you need. You'll still get a few shard drops in the process too. Less crafting = more time to play the game.

One thing that bothers me, I live in the Eastern time zone, the servers normally go down at 7am for maintenance and are back up around 9am or so. When I read that there was going to be a 4 hour downtime I ASSumed that the servers would be back up around 11am or at the latest by noon. I just read it again and the scheduled time for them to come back up is 1pm. It could realistically be 2 or 3pm before they actually do come back up. I play mostly in the daytime so there goes most of my day out the window.
Still, if i19 does come out today I'll forgive them. -
It most likely is i19 because it was announced yesterday that the servers will be down for a "publish". I read somewhere that the Monkey Farms would be dealt with at the same time as i19 goes live. Sorry I don't have a link and I'm not sure if it was from anyone that knew what they were talking about either. It seems likely though. Another possible candidate is the winter event but I think it's too early for that especially since we only got a week of the Halloween event.

Quote:I wanted to save this build for my claws/sr but it won't let me anyone know why? This is the build I'm primarily using on Beta. With a Nerve Radial Boost equipped she runs about +3% higher defenses than Mids is showing.
On live I don't currently have the Glad +3%, the Panacea +heal/+end or Shield Wall +resist so the defense boost from the alpha slot I'm thinking will allow me to soft cap without the Glad +3%. The other two pvp IO's are of dubious value to the build for the Inf (for even considerable less Inf). Likely I'll slot either a +def IO generic or a Winter's Gift +slow resist in CJ and a Numina's Heal IO in PP instead.
4 Performance Shifter in Stamina and 3 Miracle plus 3 Regenerative Tissue into Health. (slots allocated to Brawl and Rest respectively)

I find it mildly amusing that Katie gave a clear, concise answer in the first reply. The OP thanked her for it, but it's still being discussed on page two.
-
True but we only had one week of the Halloween event this year. Perhaps they realized that most of us get bored with it after a couple of days and they'll shorten this one too. Especially since we'll have i19 to play with.
-
Yay!! i19
Now, what's in i20 and when do we get it?
-
It's been awhile and I don't remember how to change the motd for my SGs global channel. I looked on paragonwiki.com and tried asking in-game but couldn't get a correct answer.

Quote:I think you should shoot yourself in the head for coming up with this analogy. And yet you still didn't address my main point. Are you honestly trying to argue that "it doesn't affect you" is still a valid argument when these exploits most obviously affect players that have no desire to run them? Or are you just saying that it does affect everyone but that the net effect of exploits and those who use them is positive? Because that's suspiciously like what it sounds like you and some others here are saying, and that notion is incredibly stupid.
Once again, I'll try to be as clear as I can. People who initiate and propagate exploits should be banned. People who participate in exploiting should have their stuff taken away. People who try to justify exploiting, whatever idiotic rationale they come up with, do not have the long-term health of the game at heart and their opinions in this arena should be summarily disregarded.
When I was younger, I heard a story once (probably an urban legend) about a man who suffered such agonizing migraines that he finally gave up. He shot himself in the head. As luck would have it, though, he lived and managed to destroy the part of his brain that was causing the migraines, and went on to live a long and happy life. I also heard a story (probably also an urban legend) about a man who was so despondent that he went to the roof of a skyscraper and jumped off. A strong updraft caught him, though, and blew him all the way right back to the roof that he had moments earlier jumped off of. He was so moved by the experience, believing that it was divine intervention that saved him for a higher purpose, that he devoted the rest of life to helping others who were thinking of taking such tragic action.
Based on these stories, one could surmise that if you have a headache or are feeling a little down, you should shoot yourself in the head or jump off a building. These notions should be ridiculed for how foolish they are, as should be the notion that exploits are somehow good for the game or shouldn't be addressed in a manner that keeps similar activities from occurring again. -
I think you nailed it. I'm too close to the helicopter. DOH!!

I've been logging my toon Dark Flea out in Warburg or Bloody Bay for quite a while now. I'm trying to get the day job badge for PvP zones. He's my favorite toon and I rarely log him out for an entire 24 hour period. I've been watching and he's been frozen at 32.79% for at least two weeks. I was under the impression that you got credit for partial days on day jobs. Otherwise, why would he even be at such an odd percentage anyway. Is this a bug? Should I send in a petition?

I haven't played a mm regularly for several months now. So I can't confirm or deny any problem that you may be having. I do know a trick though that may help you as a mastermind in general. I always put my pet attack command button in the tray with all of my clickies and spam it with the rest of my attacks. That way they are always on the same target that I am. See if that helps.

Quote:If it were me I would be pissed at you too. To me this is just as annoying as a telemarketer. When I do spam for SG recruits I shout in broadcast 1x per zone. There is no reason to go begging individually like that.Look at this conversation:
[Tell] -->: Need a SG?
[Tell] : isn't there an SG tag under my name?
[Tell] -->: I sent u a message b4 i got here
[Tell] : wow, that was an useless act.
[Tell] -->: Don't have to be a d!ck I send messages to lvls 1-10 about the SG
[Tell] : LOL, spamming for a SG members...Sorry, bub, I guess some have to do what the have to do.
[Tell] -->: Spamming? Sending messages is 'spamming' most people i see like being asked b4 they get invited
[Tell] : sure, there a lots of 14y/o tha daddy is paying their account that would love the invite
[Tell] : ok, ok, I'll leave it be. good luck, bub
[Tell] -->: **** off bro
[Tell] : boy, if you had taken a few minutes to see if I had an SG before spamming you would be all upset now, would you?buggar off, bub
[Tell] -->: And were back to spamming, Let me ask you did i send you like 10 messages to join my SG? NO. I sent you one. That is not spamming - that is a general question
I admit I got a bit out of hand with my responses but I just hate sarcastic jerks
Oh and also, who here calls asking someone to join your SG threw a tell 'Spamming'? -
Quote:Wow!! Can you say impatient? 10 days is not that long. Also, from everything that I've heard about CO it's a terrible game.If I played any mmo then I wont be paying some limited free to play version so if there is still free 30 says gold membership wont be a waste.
What do you mean by trial keys? Is it as limited as the free trial?
And while those powers are interesting it is still steep plenty of expansions I have paid for that price had loads more content, and I am no really interested in those power sets anyways, and yes the poster above pointed out on cyber monday but like I said that is a while from now.
Edit: You said you have an old account. I don't know how long it's been since you've played the game but there are 2 to 3 free expansions every year. There is a lot of new content that you probably haven't even seen that makes this game more and more amazing all the time. Sure, Praetoria only goes to level 20 right now but it will eventually open up to level 50 just like the rest of the game. When CoV first came out it didn't go up to level 50 either. Grandville didn't even exist at that time. That's the great thing about CoX it's ever-evolving and most of the new content is free.
