Also, if you mean global channel, clicking on the channel name in the chat box allows you to "Set MotD" which basically sticks the slash command that Master mentions in the chat box.

It's been awhile and I don't remember how to change the motd for my SGs global channel. I looked on paragonwiki.com and tried asking in-game but couldn't get a correct answer.
