    Now it's offical.

Tad slow on the annoucement Ghostie, always gonna be someone who gets there first

    [/ QUOTE ]

Couldn't post it until they were confirmed to be working (and, of course, I'd arrived at the office to see said confirmation).
  2. c'mon folks ... play nice, or the thread gets locked.
  3. I should note that a suggestion discussed in detail on the French forums has already been passed along for consideration at NCNC (it was also suggested here on the English), and any other good ideas that crop up will likewise be sent over.
  4. Oh oh, a Redname is necro-posting? What's the world coming to?!

    *ahem*

So, here's an update for you all:

All Customers who use or used Maestro

It is important to note that for legal reasons we are only able to send the emails mentioned below to customers who are opted-in to receive email from us. Anyone who has chosen to opt-out will not receive an email. If you are a current Maestro subscriber I strongly encourage you to opt-in immediately (you can opt out again once you receive your email).

Customers whose accounts expired or were cancelled between July 1st and July 16th

There are currently emails being sent to Maestro users whose accounts expired (or were cancelled) between July 1st and July 16th (inclusive) this year. This email advises of the change in Maestro policy, and points out the current alternatives.

More importantly, this email also announces that by the end of August all customers who prefer to pay their subscription with their Maestro card (or for whom Maestro is the only option) will be able to pay for 60 days subscription as a non-recurring payment through PlayNC.

These customers are also receiving a code for 15 days free time that they can add to any NCsoft subscription title.

Customers who had an existing auto-renew Maestro subscription at the time the first changes were made

In the near future, a similar email will be sent to all customers who currently use Maestro for auto-renewing subscriptions. This email will notify these customers that their current auto-renewing subscription using Maestro will be discontinued automatically from the end of August, and includes a list of alternate payment methods and the new Maestro payment option.

These customers will also receive a code for 15 days free time, to allow plenty of time for each customer to arrange for alternate payment.
  5. This is a global CoH Facebook page, and we'll be working with the US team to make sure there's EU info appearing there as well. Become a fan, you know you want to .
  6. The point of my post is that you can express your disagreement with the current limitations, and any suggestions for changes/improvements, far more effectively without ranting about it or labelling the current situation as "the work of idiots" ... if you want to get your message heard, by far the best way is to post calmly and constructively.

Is the current system perfect? Probably not: it's rare that anything is perfect when first implemented. Is it overkill? Maybe. Will changes and adjustments be considered? Certainly, and they're far more likely to be implemented when they're put forward sensibly.
  7. [ QUOTE ]
Perhaps I'm an optimist, but I sincerely think we're in for one hell of a surprise with I13, and I want the devs to get it right.

    [/ QUOTE ]

*giggles* You have no idea .

    [ QUOTE ]
Here's my take on it: The devs know that they're going to release I13. They will have begun development on it long before I12 came out. They know it's a biggie. They are also abundantly aware that CO and DCUO are in development and that they have to take control.

In their shoes, I would do two things:

Firstly, I'd make sure that I13 was top-notch. Primo, game-release stuff.

Secondly, I'd put off releasing any details, even at the expense of annoying my own player-base, until the very last minute I can so that the developers for DCUO and CO can't do anything about the funky new stuff I'm including without it becoming clear that they're only copying.

This is what I mean when I say I want the devs to get it right. If you read between the lines of Redname posts, they're laughing in their beers about our speculation, and, from experience, that means that they know they're going to be exceeding our expectations one way or another. I'm willing to put up with a bit of tactical silence from Positron if it means really cool stuff, and that is the only reason I can conceive of for such a silence in the first place.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The Shadowe is wise ... and apparently has been lurking when I go play pool after work.

Announcements about Issue 13 will be made when the NCNC team feel that the time is right, and not a moment before. There are a lot of factors that come into play in making that decision. Announcing too early in a knee-jerk reaction to future competition that doesn't exist yet is a dangerous thing to do. The quote from BAB's above is absolutely spot on: information is a very strong and valuable tool, but it's also a transitory one that must be managed carefully.

    BBC Today

Indeed, I believe the next one is Memorabilia. I'm not aware of us attending the event mentioned in teh article, so I'm guessing the photo is an archive one, the fact Ghost Widow and Ms Liberty are in it being purely coincidental.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
More time????? They've had 5 blood years. How haerd is it to figure this kind of thing out and get it right?

Right now its wrong. The work of idiots quite frankly and I thought we'de seen the back of them when Cryptic sailed away.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Just a gentle warning that you're treading a very fine line here: personal attacks / flames are not allowed, and that includes generic attacks against the staff. Your constructive criticism is welcome; this sort of posting is not constructive.
  10. Hi all,

The CS team are aware of the issue you've encountered and they've been investigating.

Anyone else affected should be sure to contact the CS team so that they have as much information available as possible.
  11. I've decided to make this a public post, given that I've made enough generic warnings about this sort of thing in the last few months. In this specific case...

    1. Spectral_Ent's post includes a few comments that could be interpreted as personal, and the post having been reported to me I would normally follow up with nothing more than a reminder about keeping things non-personal.

    2. On the other hand:

    [ QUOTE ]
Way to post like a complete jackass, Im sorry my post annoyed you but just because my opinion differs from yours doesnt mean you should "lose it" and go into your tedious nit picking pyramid mode.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Responding by launching your own personal attack is both uncalled for and against the forum rules. I'm not going to take any action against the posts in this thread beyond this post, however to be clear for future:

In cases such as this, if you respond to a perceived attack by escalating with a blatant personal attack, it is the respondent who has escalated who should expect more severe repercussions (such as a formal warning or even a temporary ban).

DO NOT ever, for any reason, respond to a post you find objectionable by launching you own attacks.

    [ QUOTE ]
    Reporting your post to mods

    [/ QUOTE ]

I consider these sorts of comments to be harassment. Report the post and then move on, do not post to say that you've reported it.
  12. Hi,

if you haven't already I suggest you contact our support team and detail your problem. Details on how to do so can be found in this thread.
  13. This thread is hopelessly derailed by completely off-topic discussion on multiple topics that simply do not belong on this forum (or any forum here, for that matter).

I'm going to close the thread, however anyone who wants to continue the discussion of the original topic raised by Dante should feel free to start a new thread.

As a general warning and reminder: if I wasn't feeling refreshed and generous after a wonderful holiday, I would be sending several people warnings about posting off-topic spam. The volume of spam in this thread is far too excessive.
  14. The video is still going through some final polish and approvals, unfortunately.
  15. Hi all,

This thread has been generating a lot of reports of inappropriate posts, and I simply haven't had time to look it over so far today.

As such, I've decided to close the thread temporarily until I've had a chance to give it a proper investigation as to whether the reports are warranted or not. Once I've done that, I will reopen the thread; expect that to happen tomorrow morning.

As this is a PvP thread I will likely also move it to the PvP forums.

    Thanks for that Tellis.

So a redname comments on us forums but Europe ones get nothing!

    Hmmmm......

Best not say anything more, but would be nice to get an update!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, given that you posted about it at 4:20pm on the last day of my holiday (and Tellis posted on the weekend), it's not that surprising that Lighthouse has beaten us to it.

The advice offered by Lighthouse is pretty much what you would have gotten here anyway: please submit a petition to support describing the problem and listing all affected characters, so that support can forward the information on the dev team for investigation.

From what I see, it's a Costume -Power- much like the Arachnos Disguise, a toggle that disguises you as a PPD Hardsuit officer.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yup, that's exactly how it works.

    [ QUOTE ]
But still, hopefully they'll either offer it at other conventions that don't require travelling to mainland Europe.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I very much doubt that Leipzig will be the only means of obtaining these codes .

Edit: Also, please note that the dates quoted on the US news post are for the non-public GC Developers Conference. The correct dates for the GC itself are August 20 to 24, and I believe the show is open to the public August 21 to 24.
  18. Please open a support ticket - if you've upgraded the account to a full account and paid for subscription time the trial restrictions should *not* be in place.

While I'm here, we've become aware (thanks to the recent issue that required a patch be reverted) that if you make changes to your account in PlayNC (eg upgrading from trial to retail) while logged in to the game, there is a possibility of the changes being overwritten and reverted when you log out. The support team can fix the problem if this occurs, and the dev team are investigating the best way to eliminate the problem. In the meantime, please keep in mind that you should not be logged in to the game while making upgrades to your account via PlayNC.

It never ceases to amaze me how the human mind works. What we have here is a marketing survey with a range of hypothetical game features each described in just a (relative) handful of words. How anyone can argue so vehemently on a positive or negative viewpoint of the impact of any of these hypothetical features on the game, at this stage, boggles my mind.

It's a survey. The point is to gather information based on what is asked in the survey. Not what the survey taker assumes/fears/hopes might happen (either positive or negative). Having said that, though, the discussion here has been interesting to read during my days off .

    [/ QUOTE ]
True but got to say if there is even the slighest chance of content like this being added, I'd much prefer people jump around discussing it, at least then the devs know we are enthused by it. If everyone just turned round and ignored it the chances of it being added are far slimmer. IMO.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh, I fully agree - the discussion in this thread has been great to read, and very informative. I just wanted to inject a small reality-check in an attempt to avoid anyone setting hard opinions before they have any concrete information.

Guys... It's not votes.. It's merely nominations for entries....

    [/ QUOTE ]

Correct ... once a nomination is made, we ignore all the rest of the posts nominating the same creative. There are many factors we consider when choosing the monthly winner(s), however number of nominations isn't one of them (however, when/if popularity is considered, it is based on the posts in the thread devoted to the creative).

Did the PMs get lost in the sorting office?

Nope, they got lost in me going on holiday ... expect them tomorrow.

    X4: Evolution

Why don't you all discuss it like civilised human beings? As has already been noted by one of the co-organisers, the level limit is open for discussion. So discuss it. Any talk of boycotting the event on the basis of the L40 cap is both premature and lacking respect and gratitude towards those who have already done a lot of hard work making this happen at all.

Getting so worked up over something that is already indicated to be open for discussion and possible change is silly. Yes, I am trash talking you all .

(Edit: for clarity, this is a response to the thread on the whole and not Rooks who just happened to be most recent response when I started writing the post)
