  1. It does seem that the 'special damage' has been altered into negative energy, but it still seems that the knockback and stun only applies to Kheldians

    no blinds

    My views:

Blinds - intrussive, and I'll have to be in the mood to accept one, which is rare.

LFT? tell + invite - see blinds

LFT? tell - less intrussive, and I'll have to be in the mood to even answer it, regardless if it's Yes or No - really no different then a blind, but less intrussive.

Tell with team/lvl information - Gets a response when I can, high chance of me joining if I'm free.

If I'm flagged as "Looking for..." I'll usually accept a blind. Though if the name of the inviter is in l33t or lacking in caps, miss use of caps or something rather silly, there's still a good chance that I'll decline it. - Those things bother me, so I won't let it bother me further and won't bother them with it.

I also dislike having the star, not because of the recruitment bit, but because I dislike the responsibility.
I generally have little trouble getting a full team when I set out to do so. I use the following tell for just about every occasssion:
/t $target, Hi, want to join a lvl #ish team for missions?

On the occassion I'm doing a specific mission, I'll try to include that.
I don't shy away from asking lvl 50s when I can't find people around my own lvl, there's a good chance they're willing to exemp, and as I state the lvl of the team, I hope it's clear I'm asking they exemp and it's not a PLing bit.

    Story time!

I once got a blind invite from a lvl 12 while I was a lvl 29 scrapper. The leader was mute and at least the team members were speaking and offering exemps... I didn't except, instead I cleared two sewer rooms before leaving. I did appologize to the other team members (in team so leader could read) for my behaviour due to annoyance at the leader's idiocy. I got a few tells upon leaving the team saying it was alright and they felt for the situation I was in.

One evening I was in an SG base with a couple of friends RPing, teamed up. I got a tell saying "invite please", so (feeling in a bitchy mood) I invited him as he requested. He then asked where the mission was (none were selected) and I said there was no mission. It didn't take too long before he noticed that we were not teaming and quit.

Hmmm, from these occassions, I guess I can be a bit of an [censored] when dealing with rude people.

On the other hand, when I do feel like teaming for an extended period, I usually inherrit the star and often at the end of the day, I've recieved a compliment or two.

    Widow capes!

IIRC, there is/was a point with the 'buttcapes' stacking with normal capes causing problems.
I have a costume which uses the Wedding Buttler jacket as well as a fringe cape, and they do look a bit odd when looked close upon, the 'shoulder cape' becomes invisible where it overlaps the 'butt cape'
And I seem to recall something about performance issues with double capes (even if they do move the exact same way)

and NO I'M NOT CHANGING MY COSTUME. IT'S MINE I LOVE IT THE WAY IT IS!
  4. Did anyone notice that the Community Information Terminals don't list any recorded information anymore?
I couldn't even select other timeframes, just 'today'

Oh, the only bit of info that's not 0 or null was on the Arena Gladiator entry: Mr Carpenter and Volyova both had 1500.
This was on Union, 22:20pm UK time, btw

does the guy selling the enhancements sell 40 SO?
if he does, why should a lvl 37 get pushied for not getting the slot in PI as the level limit entering PI would be lvl 40

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yes, but unless they changed it, he only gives his mission to lvl 40 and up, which then allows use of his shop. Otherwise it's the previous shops contacts in Founders/Bricks.

    [ QUOTE ]
I mean this lvl limit will pushied alot of players, I was play the other day and we had brick mission and it sent us to crey folly for a mission we had choice to drop a person or a mission, due to the fact we someone who couldn't enter crey due to one lvl different to access the area.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Aye, and that's rather annoying

    [ QUOTE ]
personally I think lvl restriction is a idiot system with no personel gain to anything

    [/ QUOTE ]
It was a not so bad system to keep (new) players from getting in over their head, but in the end, it's more of a bother then it's worth.
The only reason I can think of now is the accolades and their exploration badges in hazard zones keep people from getting the boosts too early. But with the accolades/temps sticking with exemped characters now, I think this is a bit out dated as well.

    oooo, I got an idea!

Add the snipers lined up on the rooftops from the ferry to portal Corps where all the PLers seem to run to, that should make it at least a 'little' work for them and would be great fun for players to watch, could have the snipers make comments on "got another one of them (whatever) Sir" like reporting in LOL .

    [/ QUOTE ]

Bad idea, they just get shot, go to the Hospital and then are closer to portal corps.

So they get a bit of debt (or none if below lvl 10) I doubt it'll have any impact on their level progression as they PL.

To be honest it'll just affect the rest of us when we go to PI at lvl 40.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Make them lvl 35, so they won't attack lvl 38 and up, but still hunt the PLers!
And put them around the hospital too!

Also is this a single creative genius spanning a 2 month period or do we make nominations for November AND December?

    [/ QUOTE ]

There will be two winners announced, one for Nov and one for Dec. Given Nov was such a busy month there will likely be a few consolation prizes handed out as well. Everyone is welcome to nominate twice, being once for each month.

    [/ QUOTE ]

ok thanks for the clarification In that case I nominate Happy Dan and Dr Drestiny for their stirling efforts in the NaNoDraMo

    [/ QUOTE ]
That would be two nominations for November, not one for November and one for December (unless you mean Doc D's christmas tread, but as you said NaNoDraMo...) also, Happy Dan has already been nominated (as well as Doc D's christmas thread) twice, and this isn't a voting thread, but a nomination thread.

For December my nomination would be for Darth Delicious and her CoX drawings

For November, it's a little story by LeighB

    IC rumours

Monday 5-1-2009, from 3pm to 8pm, there was a charity show for the Independance Port Hospital's patients.

A mix of music, comedy sketches and stage magicians profided the entertainment.

Despite a brief interruption of Council troops, the show went off without noticable mishaps.
  9. wasn't that fusion generator 250 PvP defeats?
  10. More then once, I've been on a team that were around the #0 marker. We were doing an arc and doing so IC.
In the case of this example, I was lvl 28 SKed to a lvl 33. Then the next mission was in Crey's Folley. Oh joy.

If you don't like the PL requests, ignore them.
They have just as much right to play how they want as you do.
if you find them harassing you, petition them.

    List of prices?

    List of prices?

    [ QUOTE ]
I'll give it one until I get around to sorting out a 'useful links' sticky.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Shame Bridger never got around to it.
But busy mods are busy, and I can well see how this slipped off the radar.

But now with i13, I think that the lists are a bit out dated:
    [ QUOTE ]
    list of room costs: click
    list of item costs: click

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Last Updated: 11/16/2005

Does anyone have a link to a new list?

Any other 'useful links' pertaining to bases? (be they guides or information)
Let's make it easy on GhostRaptor, in case he wants to make such a useful links list.
  13. Wooo! Postcount +1

    Sorry, couldn't resist!
  14. I'm interested in either, so...
Would depend on if I have prior plans on the day, coupled with mood.
But in general, I'll probably be available.
  15. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
It doesn't matter whether it's labelled as rent or fuel bills or paying off local businesses to keep schtum about the bases location. Any secret base would require some costs and it's a bit silly to argue over what is a small cost and can easily be afforded. Those americans who are protesting are crazy. *does wavy finger gesture around her temple*

    [/ QUOTE ]
You're rather missing the point, I think.

The reason people (me included) are moaning about the rent payment isn't that it's unrealistic, or unaffordable, or even (as so many things are accused of being) "unfair".

It's that the I13 rent is such a trivial amount it's no challenge to collect, making the need for someone to trudge between zones and pay it every month an essentially pointless grind.

It's a bit like the feeling you'd get if every toon needed to return to the starting zone every month and click a "Registered for the Census" button before you could get new missions. It wouldn't be difficult and it wouldn't necessarily be unrealistic, but it would be utterly needless makework in a game that's meant to be all about fun.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Or like the first mission you get from you lvl 5 contact is to go see 'that cop' in the Hollows - EVERY SINGLY FRIGGIN TIME! - with no way around it.
Followed at lvl 15 by your contact giving you the 'mission' to talk to Jimmy Tremblor in Faultline, followed by the trip to see the Bloody Bay PvP representative.
I now know the REAL reason why it's called 'Bloody'... Bloody stupid ham fist enforced no way around it introduction to what most will have seen a dozen times over.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
    It's probably an RP thing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No, it really isn't. Hasn't got anything to do with RP.

    [/ QUOTE ]
then what does it have to do with?
I think it's an RP thing as you can have a character, who could fit multiple AT/builds. Doesn't mean all RPers do it, I think it's mostly RPers that do it, though.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
Never understood the fascination with using the same name on Alts but each to their own.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    It's probably an RP thing.

Rosalin is a shadow manipulator, so dark/dark in what ever AT I can make fits the character.

Grav, is a mage, and a peacebringer.

Same personality across the alts, different powersets.

I know of at least 2 Characters that can alter their powers, one such character had, iirc 8 alts to him.
  18. Server: Union
    Character Name: Smaragden Koningin
    Character Level: 35
    Character Archetype: Controller
    Character Origin: Magic
Are you Grouped: once no, once yes
Are you Sidekicked or Lackeyed: no
Are you Exemplared or Malefactored: no
Are you in a pact: no
Any other details that you think might be related: Has the badge for said reward already. But didn't get the power.
  19. [ QUOTE ]
One of your alts could see another alt wandering around.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Oh dear...

[NPC]Grav-Mistress: "Well done Grav Mistress, taking down those X"

    Rosa walks down the street
    [NPC]RosaThorne: "Hey Rosa, nice outfit"
[NPC]Rosalin Thorne: "I heard Rosa took down a Council base the other day"
    [NPC]Rosalin: "isn't that Rosa?"

    SG Tailor

    [ QUOTE ]
Let's take as an example, the Unity Vigil. There is no UV 'uniform' as such, but the junior branch of the UV, the New Vigilants, does have a uniform. So, that's some of the SG has a uniform, some doesn't.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Actually, the Unity Vigil does have a uniform, though it's not mandatory. (Where as New Vigilants uniform is IIRC, encouraged.)
    Also, it's pretty modable.

So that's... um, basically what you said, but more expansive, and totally unrelevant to the subject beyond the point made...
  21. [ QUOTE ]
What are you characters theme songs?

    [/ QUOTE ]
    They have none?

Though if it were descriptive songs, best I can come up with is "Girls just want to have fun" for Rosalin Thorne

    [ QUOTE ]
The thing that plays in your head, when they do something totally heroic?(Removed non-applicable)

    [/ QUOTE ]
Oddly enough, that'd usually be the Imperial March.
Playing mostly Controllers and Tankers, the slow and steady but unstoppable force feel of it seems to fit.

An other one would be "Ride of the Valkyries" (or was it flight?)

*grumbles about the direct links being unusable from work, but then realises that most bands/songs wouldn't/haven't meant anything to him, and shuts up*
  22. [ QUOTE ]
a bit of an unfair advantage don't you think....you know, for the ones that doesn't have access.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Not an advantage, more a convinience.

It's the VIP lounge. People have paid to get in (okay, it's probably only a small reason). Only reasonable they get a convinience out of it.
  23. [ QUOTE ]
    so...are the flamebats gone?
now can someone explain me why everyone is shouting WONG and RIGHT and FACT in an offensive tone, is someone dieing?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    * It's a text medium
    * Returning the same tone
    * Force of habit

I think that's the order of reasons, some posts may have all reasons, other posts may have but one of these reasons, and of course, I could be completely wrong.

In most posts I've seen from you, your 'tone' seems rather 'I'm right, wake up and see that', whether intentional or not.
That said, I don't read all the boards, so to say that I've probably missed half your posts would be an understatement.
Take my observation as you will.
