I hadn't even considered that it wouldn't. It would hit dominators harder than most if that were the case. Even still, it would affect Hasten, making perma-Hasten easier to achieve, thus help perma-dom along.

Powerlevel is decently up there with what the arc says of his teleporting abilities, but his actions and behavior are not godlike.

The options are there to go whichever way you want to take your character's story. Stheno is also an Incarnate, and she is pretty close to having her children treat her like a god. Recluse looks to suffer from Messianic Narcissism, and may or may not think he is a god, but certainly doesn't act the part. Statesman and his many alternate versions are superman level heroes, but never really take the divine role. Then Trapdoor is your street-level character.

So whichever route you want your story to take, there is an existing Incarnate who embodies it in the official game lore.
That's totally true. My one current level 50 character probably should have stopped around level 20, though. I was already uncomfortable with the level of power she has versus what she had in my head. She's an old pen-and-paper character who was designed more as "neighborhood watch" rather than "single-handedly save the world" as many high-level arcs have you doing. Thus I made a couple characters for whom phenomenal cosmic power is the point.
  2. Maybe someone who was in the I18 beta can answer this. Since the Alpha enhancements can be swapped out, they must be a persistent thing. Do they sit in your normal enhancement inventory? Or do they have their own inventory?

I'm assuming since they can't be traded, you can't stick one in your market inventory when you're not using it.
  3. I'm curious what those of you with more dominator experience think of the Alpha Slot information. Mostly, I'm wondering about the effect of the Spiritual tree on perma-doms.

Is this going to free up slots and make perma easier to achieve?

I recently made a Mind/Psi dom with going Incarnate in mind. Most of my characters end up being pretty street-level, so it was a bit of a stretch for me to make one for whom achieving godhood seemed natural.
  4. My personal experience is that I got defeated too fast to hit them, but that was before the change to Consume that added end drain resistance. They may fare better now.
  5. My experience with DM/FA was about the same as yours, StarKitten. I tore things up until I hit 40, then it got really rough for me. Not having any mez/control really hurt when I started facing things like Sappers.

    Halloween Mobs

I actually had a bit of trouble with the crone and vampire bosses on my 50 MA/SR scrapper. It really surprised me.
  7. I deleted my first villain, Badger Woman, when villains got their own look for Invuln. She was meant to be very silly, with the rainbow of Invuln and the pink pom-poms of Energy Melee. When they made the change, I hated that she looked like she'd eaten a Dark Armor scrapper. I regret deleting her now that we have color customisation.

I also regret deleting my second villain, Necrodancer. She was a ridiculously powerful Necro/Poison whom I didn't play very often. I felt bad sitting on such a good name, so I deleted her to free it. Now I want to play her again.

She was a level 40 Broadsword/Invulnerable and not a day goes by that i don't miss her!

Good for you for getting out of there. I've been in a similar situation and I know how hard it can be to leave.
  8. I would place Rogues more at true neutral. They don't care what happens as long as they get their payday. In the tip missions the Rogue option is to help someone for pay just as often as it is to rob someone.

Villains, as they're written are more Chaotic Evil. Many of the tip missions have you causing chaos just because you feel like it.

Vigilantes in the tip/morality system are short-sighted morons. Not that I'm bitter. I would prefer they be a little more pragmatic, weighing the dangers of each option and choosing to do the most good regardless of the law's stance. Instead they focus only on hitting the bad guys and worry about nothing else. I'd call them chaotic neutral.

Heroes are the shining beacons of hope and goodness and fluffy-marshmallow feelings you'd expect. No innocent is left behind. They are lawful good.
  9. I did my Trick or Treating in Firebase Zulu this afternoon. I was able to get the tip mission and the door spawned in the Shadow Shard. If it can happen there, I assume RWZ should be fine.
  10. There's a low-level mission that's not tied to any story arc; it's just a stand-alone mission. Your contact tells you about his friend who is in a wheelchair because he was injured in the Rikti war. The clockwork have stolen his trophy. I think it's a swimming trophy, but it may be for running.

The trophy is all this poor guy has left from who he was before the war. Your contact is asking you to go get it back as a personal favor.

I really enjoy the mission because it's just a simple human story with no world-saving or plot-thwarting. It's nice to imagine a city full of people you can help on a personal level.

That's odd. I was at 13 of 14 on my Dimensional Warder badge before I did this mission, and got the badge after defeating Siege.

I had to call in help to defeat Siege. My MA/SR scrapper couldn't kill him past the heal, and he couldn't kill me.
  12. I've always thought the Protomen were terribly appropriate for Praetoria, especially given the clockwork everywhere.

Perhaps Breaking Out or The Stand (Man or Machine)
  13. I worry about the ambiguity of both "violent" and "sexual" as descriptors of crime. Tackling the guy you thought was going to rob your grandmother is violent; peeing in public is classified as a sex crime.

I'm quite curious what the unpopular answer is.
  14. Eee! I have an excuse to beg for the thing I've been wanting forever. My favorite character is a Bride of Frankenstein/Bride of Reanimator type. I would love it if we could have some sort of patchwork flesh option like the Vahzilok. I imagine it could work like the zombie option we already have. It would be even better if it were a tights option so it could be worn under skirts.

Meh, I'm already dead. What's the worst that could happen?
  16. I know Zach, too. I'm part of the 90 Day Delinquents, the Chicago Repo shadowcast.

I'm Marni and a bunch of small parts, for those who know what I'm talking about.

I haven't tried it yet. Malta scare me.

Do the recovery buff and recovery debuff protection last long enough to make it a viable defense against them?
  18. I have a DM/FA brute sitting in the low 40s. I started finding her very frustrating to play in the high levels. I have no reliable way to deal with trouble enemies like Sappers. With no defense to speak of, it's also unlikely that they'll miss me with their debuffs.

Personally, I would recommend either something with reliable control to pair with Fire (Super Strength, Earth Melee) or something with defense to pair with Dark Melee (Shields, Super Reflexes).
  19. Going into this mission, I had hoped to be able to capture her and let Praetor White deal with her. I assumed his dedication to Cole and Praetoria would override his attachment to her. It did, sort of, but I still had to kill her. It's a little disappointing that all decisions are binary rather than allowing you to have meaningful input. Of course, I understand why, given the limitations of the medium.
  20. The villain base is called the Crucible. It's in the mountains of Cap au Diable.
  21. I was one of the people who hated the knockback in Crane Kick, so the new Cobra Strike makes me very happy. I'm playing and enjoying my MA/SR character again for the first time in years.
  22. I had a similar issue with a Praetorian mission. Eventually I found a body on the floor that I had to interact with to continue on. Maybe something similar is happening to you?

Ah, okay. I thought my husband saw Redemption before he got a tip.

Not having access to the tip information contact sounds like a bug, though.
