Tips system
Tips thing is still very confusing to me.
2. Tips have a drop timer which I believe is separated by 30 minutes |
5. Loyalty points start to decay after 20 hours |
I have to get 6 tips now to make up for the one I just lost? This seems to be a losing battle for people who cant play for long periods of time ( work, kids so on ) |

No drop timer that I'm aware of. I know I've gotten 2 tips in the same mission, and may have even gotten them in quick succession.
There's no decay on loyalty points -- that's a cooldown timer. It's telling you that you have to wait at least 20 hours before any further tip missions will count for alignment points. It's actually set up to reward casual play in short spurts, not punish it. ![]() |

Awesome thanks, I have way to many characters and alts to stay that focused

A little more detail: You can do up to 5 tip missions within a 20 hour window. If you do all 5, then do 5 more the next day, you can get your morality mission on the second day. So it's a two day minimum to change alignments, but you can spread it out longer if you want. Just look at the tip window and see if all 5 icons are lit up to tell if you've hit the limit.
I'll say this, the drop rate on tips seems to be fairly high. Doing tip missions, if I fight my way through (i.e. don't stealth it), I've yet to complete the mission without getting at least 1 more tip. You can have up to 3 at a time, so chances are you won't have a shortage of tips.

On my very first mission after the GR launch I got 2 tips from the very first spawn and a third within 5 minutes. Getting tips to drop apparently isn't going to be a challenge.
I've run 4 tip missions so far (limited playtime), they're pretty similar to the generic radio missions but a couple have been on unique maps. They're pretty quick to complete.
COH has just been murdered by NCSoft. http://www.change.org/petitions/ncso...city-of-heroes
I haven't been so lucky on tip drops. I did 3 radio missions before I got the first tip. I then got 2 more tips in my first tip mission. I got one more on the next mission. Since then I been stuck on 4.
I did 3 more radios while stuck on 4 tips, then I ran out of time and had to log. I must be unlucky.
I figured I would use a similar thread to ask my question to keep from cluttering the board.
From what I've seen and heard, tip missions start dropping after defeating enemies above level 20. But I've been in St. Martial, beating up various enemies for over and hour, and so far I haven't gotten a single tip, nor do I have access to the tip contact. I have the tip tab, but there's nothing there.
Is there something else I need to do to get them to start dropping?

I've gone 2-3 missions without one, then had three drop in one mission and one from a random spawn on the way.
Well, I've been doing that for a while now. Is it normal for it to go this long?

Random drop generator is random.
total kick to the gut

This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.
Are the they -2 or higher to you? I believe you need to be able to receive a reward from the mob in question to get a tip ( IE Salvage, XP, Recip , Enh so on )

The ONLY critters that I've been able to find that can't drop tips is in the AE or under level 20. Underlings drop less than minions, who drop less than lts, who drop less than bosses.

Ok here is another one. If I group and do all 5 of others rogue mission, get all 5 fame but I have all 3 tip slots taken up, can I still get my morality mission? Will one of those tips in my contact list convert to a morality?
When I click on it it is still giiving me the option for a mission but I have all 5 public fame for the day

You can get a morality mission even if all 5 of your fame slots are filled.
I'm moving my 50 thug/dark to paragon. I've street sweeped for tips, first in Grandville to make rogue status.
I then began to street sweep in Talos to complete the full change. Maybe I got lucky during these two days but tips were coming in literally at 1 per minute give or take a few seconds.
Tips thing is still very confusing to me.
1. You can only do 5 tips a day
2. Tips have a drop timer which I believe is separated by 30 minutes
3. This means it will take 2 ½ hours to get all 5 tips
4. After doing all 5 tips you will have 5 loyalty points
5. Loyalty points start to decay after 20 hours
This is my problem, If I get home at 5:00 pm and play until 8:00 getting all 5 tips then loyalty points. I log on again the next day at 5:00 pm it’s been 21 hours since I logged off, so I lose one of my loyalty points? I have to get 6 tips now to make up for the one I just lost?
