We already do. It is the pocket D teleport that comes with good vs evil. You appear in the tiki bar right below and to the right of the tailor.

PLUS, he also makes use of a few magical artifacts!
If he was freak enough to have powers then he'd be tech, otherwise he's natural. Magical Temp powers are not an origin. Crabs are still natural.

The cybernetic replacement later on is the interesting bit. Per banes and crabs it seems they're still natural. Anyone know what the official take on Tarantula Mistress/Queens is? They are natural as fortunatas then replace their whole body. If they are still natural, then that's pretty convincing your dude would be natural per cannon (but you are absolutely 100% free to run any how you want).

I also wonder about Burkeholder. But that's just one arm, not a lot of cybernetics.
  3. Two thoughts
First, stock up on envenomed daggers. Nothin' says lovin' quite like -250% regen.

Second, per the enhancement scaling. Pay particular attention to rule #1 of the mechanic. That's the one that says "small numbers never get reduced". If you use level 50 quads, 43 triples, and 24 duals you can keep 100% of your enhancement value down to level 21. It's very nice to have 8 or 9 SOs worth of enhancement at level 21 when enemies are scaled for people using DOs. =)
  4. Note: mids doesn't exist for Macs.

Edit: this means no one who uses a Mac has any idea what is in your build, thus we cannot comment on it or give you advice.
  5. I've never heard a goal stated, but the more the better. After being softcapped, the only way to increase your survivability is resistance and regen. So rack 'em up!

it is only every 10 seconds, not every second.
  7. The siren's call powers work anywhere, but the arena temps only work in the arena.

I love the villain venom grenades for all my characters and the arachnos mace for low-damage/slow maturing characters.

Also, the renewable jump pack is faster than the flight pack, so that's handy too.

Hmm, that gets me thinking, I wonder if a peacebringer can use the temporary teleport power and confuse the hell out of people.

I must experiment with that one!

An being of light living in a light based computer seemed like a reasonable enough idea.
Neat. But it does bring up the question of the kheldian lifespan. If it is still in light form while in the computer, does it age? One of the appeals to the khelds of merging is they can live a lot longer. I can see the argument from both sides, all the computer circuitry sending constant new light into the kheld keeping it renewed just like a living being. Or, it's still in light form so still ages.

I assume that you've decided the former?

Next, bid on 10 of the recipes and 10 of each of the salvage ( should total 110 million in this example). Come back later that day or the next day ( or when ever they all fill) and craft all 10 of the IOs. Now sell 9 of the IOs for 14,xxx,xxx so that any bids at 15 million or higher should buy your IO. 9 x 15 = 135 million, 135 - 13.5 = 121 million influence. 121 - 110 = 11 million profit PLUS the IO you saved for yourself. ( note any sales above 15 million that you get would be even more profit).

Using this method you can get most of your IOs for free and even make influence on top of that to eventually buy the ones that don't have huge margins between crafted and recipe.
Two things: #1 False advertising. Nothing in this process is free, you are just running a business and taking a cut for yourself. You still have operating costs.

#2: This is also risky. I have tried this strategy and taken a huge (as in multi-hundred million inf) loss as I went with frankenslot fodder no one else wanted. This ONLY works for IOs that sell, not for everything you want. Just a recommendation, don't waste your time using this strategy on stun sets other than purple and stupefy, or any of the sleep sets, etc.
  10. Actually there are already casinos in bloody bay and pocket d (the monkey fight club also has games in addition to the arena). Could easily add one to other city zones. Might already be one for all I know, I don't pay half as much attention to the hero zones as the villain ones. Always too annoyed at having to leave them to get somewhere else to do my missions.

In my own case, though, I had a Dark/Dark Defender that I switched to Dark/Dark Corruptor, and found it easier. YMMV.

My main has always been a Defender, though, and I've got quite a few other Defenders and Corruptors. There's something to be said for that versatility of the buff/debuffs, combined with the simple and direct damage dealing of blasts. It's slow and steady, but always new tricks to try out.
I think that I have found the difference between corrupters and defenders to be quite large. What I think it comes down to is that corrupters were more geared to soloing and defenders to teaming. As a result, when I pug (and I pug alot), villain side, I rarely see 1 corrupter make a huge difference to the team performance. Adding one defender to a hero team is a massive change. Caveat: "healers" who don't know how to buff etc, not included.

I have very seldom see a corrupter who made missions as easy as defenders do in pugs. Either it's just that little bit harder, or the small bonuses really do add up, or it's the quality of pug players blueside, or a combo of all of the above, I don't know. But in my experience, there is a big difference that comes with emphasizing the buff/debuff powers over the blasts instead of the other way around.

It could also be player mindset now that I think about it. Hmm. Have to watch a little more closely.

Purely solo, I think you're right, the differences are not as extreme.

A good combo for any AOE immob is Positron's Blast for the 5 piece set bonus and the damage proc, plus trap of the hunter. Slotted that way, it's quite cost effective to throw as a damage power on groups of 3 or more.
one out of 3 is not unreliable when you're running x8 spawns. In a group of 12 that's 4 of them reliably not attacking back. Procs hit for 65 damage-ish at 50. Minions have 430+ hp, lieuts 850+, bosses 2k+. Damage procs go off at 20% instead of 33%. So of the 12, instead of 4 held you have 2 with 65 damage, sometimes three. I'm voting on the hold here.

That said, I do like to do 5 posi's and my Gravitic anchor for fire and plant. For the others the base damage is so low I can see going with dual damage procs just to get some out of it, but if I wanted the mitigation I'd go gravtitic.
  13. Ouch. That looks really painful.
  14. I will also say, that if you like big groups, it is very worth the investment to get a gravitational anchor proc into your AoE immobilize. As far as purples go, they are not that expensive, I bought three for only 60m each. Far less for all three than even one of the attack purples.

Having one out of every three enemies you immobilize be held as well, is a massive help.
  15. Also, you can visit Siren's Call and for 10k pick up Cryonite Armor (30 minutes of Smashing/lethal and cold defense), if a hero or the Kinetic Shield (30 minutes smashing, lethal and energy defense) if a villain.
  16. With buildup and haste so late, how do you do exemplared down for strike forces? Or do you only play at 50?

EDIT: Once again Im aiming for defence. If you have to cut off some of the regen and rech. Thats fine.
Here's my advice: you have two builds. Take your current one that you are playing right now and call it build A. Keep using it. Take build B and put the slots in for Umbral's build. If you have a few of the IOs for it, put them in. As you play on build A slowly fill in build b. About the point when it is 85% finished, you will be able to toss in a few cheap generic IOs and play build B. Then you can retire build A or make yourself a PvP or exemplar-to-15-for-posi build or whatever you want.

This way, even if the build is too expensive for right now, you can play your character and have fun, and you will eventually fill out the build and have it. Just playing in teams at level 50 you will be surprised how fast you make money.

    False premise.

Also, for the story. For the challenge. For the badges. For the accolades. Because the supergroup is doing it. etc.

your two may be the most common, but to say there are two reasons, is a gross oversimplification.

The point is that you have been given the math how a forcefield could have kept you alive, but no healing could. Even level 12 forcefields can be maxed out with just 3 slots it doesn't take level 50 and IOs.

This means of the 12 guys ATTACKING you, only 1 or 2 will be HITTING you. Forcefields are really that good even at level 12. Healing is never that good even at level 50. You can additionally stack maneuvers, or run your AE mission in the Rikti Warzone and borrow a VEAT or two. Even at level 12.

Also you seem to be confused about the different types of shields. Sonic and Ice give resistance. This reduces incoming damage by a percentage. Forcefields give defense, this causes attacks to completely miss you and is quite a bit more powerful than resistance alone.

I was thinking more about the Psychic powers, rather than the claw/stealth abilities.
I was talking about the psychic powers. Per the CoH universe all humans have some degree of natural psychic talent inborn, hense psychics being of the natural origin. At the same time, some psychics are mutants who have particularly powerful psychic powers.
  22. I'd be very surprised if it can't be done at 30. Done on a build that can exemp to 25 I'm sure of, but not sure if it can be done at 25.

    frankenslotting?

I use this technique while levelling, and it is the core way I build my exemplared characters.

Because small bonuses never get reduced when you drop, if I have a cahracter who goes to low level very often, I like touse triples and quads to ensure they have SO-level performance.
  24. Siolfir already answered that Soul Storm doesn't crit. No idea on the hold, but I'd be surprised if it did.

It's easier to find people willing to pickup leadership villainside because of synergy with the VEATS. Everyone knows how cool it is to have one or two on your team, and quite a few of us are smart enough to pickup a leadership toggle or two to help out.
