Not really no. I'm sick of the fanboi obsession with all things Japanese that completely ignores all the totally awesome stuff from Africa, India, the Celts, etc.

If CoH created a bylaw preventing them from ever creating any other Asian themed "anything" I would personally mail every developer a check for $10 to say thank you.
  2. It's only PvP. I haven't testing in i17, but during i16 I had a build with Phase and for kicks tried to hit a carnie illusionist. I was disappointed.
  3. I still have to check nearly every time myself. I have some key wiki pages bookmarked exactly for that reason =)

I think all the powers do, but some of the IO set bonuses are resistance for only one type. In fact, I think most of them. Defense is paired, but resistance is usually alone.
  5. I do wish the shard would get the Hollow's revamp treatment. A real story arc would be great. Those rularuu are too cool to have no story arcs.

It's not a global, it's a proc. Being a proc is why it works if you exemp. As a global it would stop working below level 47.

Slot them into your first few powers and then just overwrite them with SOs/IOs at 22 (or DOs if you buy those)
I'm backing Whisper here. I have characters parked under level 20 for rolling tickets and merits, so for those characters the proc will never expire and will be pretty handy. And I have severe alt-itis and know that I will get A LOT of use out of them on all my new characters.

If you exemplar down it also matters for set bonuses. I have a /regen who likes quite a few of the set bonuses from Numina's.

In my opinion, in a perfect world you wouldn't need to because people would play AE for the story regardless of reward. I happen to be one who would still play AE if all exp and tickets were turned off.

I'm interested, but give others a little more time to beat my bid. =) My global is @Gavinruneblade and I'm online most evenings after 9:00pm PST. Toss me a PM and I'll try to setup a meet and we'll see if you can trade them.

Because SOs are more expensive for a lower bonus (starting at character level 17), I haven't used them on any build in over a year and I don't recommend anyone else use them either.

If you want to save a ginormous amount of Inf, buy vendor trash sets and craft them yourself. And I'm talking from level 17 to 50 saving over 200k inf per slot.

Like I said, I need to keep things interesting.
But do you farm Vanguard Rebels on Gaussian's Arc? To me, that is the ultimate in masochistic farming. Warwolves comes close.

Yeah, I can see you're point [that I snipped out], but man, I hate them. I guess since I kinda dig CoT these days that BP have falled into the least favorite, most hated group...except for Warwolves when I depend on slows. But no one is going to farm Warwolves.
What's not to like about them? As stated only the shamans are at all difficult but they only have lieut hit points. It's not like they're bosses. The zombies themselves are vulnerable to several types of damage (especially the mentioned lethal) that many farmed enemies are not, and their guns are so pathetic that you don't even need ranged defence to handle them in large numbers.

So, your options to get those megabucks enhancements are fairly slim. Either you farm, farm, farm, farm, farm, farm, farm, farm, every chance you get, or you hope you get really lucky and score some purple drops you can sell for mega-bucks.
Not at all. The thing is the higher prices get the more they favor the seller. Just sell your drops, and get more and more for them the higher the prices go. If you're just looking to outfit one build on one character, higher prices across the board make that easier. Especially if you're smart enough to sell your level 50 drops, and buy lower level recipes. There have been times I've gotten a level 50 drop that I wanted (one recent example was a Numina heal) and I crafted it, sold it, and bought two recipes at level 40-ish plus the salvage to craft them from the same set. And that's Redside.

    Naming question

I would spell it out to minimize the confusion from people who wonder if you have a period or not after the "Dr" since when someone wants to shoot me a tell or an invite, I like it to be easy.
  15. I still street sweep fairly often. Not all the way to 50 to the exclusion of contacts though. And, I do love me some dark astoria sweeps. That place is awesome.

I love watching the glowing runes through the fog.

    min/maxer?

In the '90s when I was into warhammer we called min/maxxers "beardies" because about 9/10s of them played Dwarves (the other 1/10 played Chaos).

And in MUDs, they're usually called twinks. Which as much refers to "twinking out" or muling gear from a rich alt to a newb, as it does to builds.

There is a timer on planting bombs. If you plant yours early enough, you can plant a second toward the end of the raid. Can't spawn Ukon twice, but you can get credit for two bombs per team per raid if you time it right.

Unfortunately, I don't recall the timing on this. I tried searching for the older post describing the technique, but my search fu is really pathetic.
  18. I have two stalkers that farm a level 14 mission and I've been trying to come up with decent attack slotting. Procs are looking really good. And that's sad because in general they're not very good.

    Regen vs SR

PvE it depends on your settings and your missions. all defense-based sets perform similar against most enemies: you don't take damage. Regen assumes you are getting hit, then you survive and heal it back.

So on my /regen I can solo a ton of dot/low-damage enemies but very few spike-damage enemies. One very noticeable example is the crey tanks. I can ignore up to 14 cray ice/elec tanks. By "ignore" I mean walk away and make a cup of tea, then come back and kill them. I have literally done this. But just two of the power tanks can spike me down all by themselves. /SR would have the ability to walk away from the power tanks.

/SR is pretty low maintenance and definitely better for weapon builds. Regen is active and I'm not happy with the redraw issues.

Imagine porting /regen to brutes unchanged with their hit points. Scrappers have good sets, not all of them are primaries.

  22. There is enough market in large insps that I strongly recommend selling them. I've moved phenominal lucks for up to 500k, but the usual price is closer to 200k-250k. The other Tiers 3s run between 50k and 100k reliably. I've never had a large sell for less than 50k nor had one sit in the shelf longer than 2 days.

In terms of getting them: +1 and +2 enemies drop med/large quite often. +2 bosses are my preferred source of large insps.

My DM/DA stalker can step up and solo a +2x6 spawn against most enemy groups. I've finished off most of a +1/x8 group that took out everyone on my team (including me but I have the self rez AoE stun). And I have a really, really, really crappy build (for instance, I don't have Murky Cloud at all and both Obsidian Shield and Shadow Dweller are 6 slotted for resistance).

I have a friend with a nin/nin who can do awesome things.

I'm joining you off topic. I have found two ways to solo this.

#1 slip past the group guarding her without freeing her. Clear out the entire rest of the map. THEN free her, and lead her to the glowy without engaging the ambushes at all.

#2 Free her, turn on stealth, ditch her. The ambushes get a bit wonky when you ditch an escort in all such missions. Sometimes they come for you, sometimes they just go to the spot the escort was standing when they spawned and then stand there. But one thing they do NOT do, is attack the escort if you use stealth to ditch the escort before the ambush engages in combat.
