Level 29 Common Damage IO's? Where did these come from?

I've been away from the game for about a month, and I'm going through my characters auctions, and I find that one of them is in possession of a pair of level 29 Damage IO's. Plain old damage IO's, not part of a set. As best as I can tell, they're legitimate level 29 commons, but I can't move them to the auction house.

Any idea what's going on, or where the silly things came from to begin with?

Huh, bugged drop maybe? What server are you on, if those are real I'll buy them off you!

Can you post a screenshot?

Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.

You should try dropping one on the market and see what happens since they shouldn't technically exist.

Or sell them as a novelty to the highest bidder(s) off the market to avoid risking them.

total kick to the gut

This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.

Sounds like it's already been tried.

I'll bid 25 million each.

I'll bid 35M for one and raise Fulmen's bid to 35M as well -- so 70M for the pair and I'm going to give him one.

I can be reached at @ferrum-ignis if I win the bid.

75m each. Total 150m.

Ack! I attempted to mail it to see if it did anything weird, and it did. I've got a message with the attachment clippy on it, but claiming the attachment doesn't work.

So I've got one left if Tech Support can't get the other one out of the series of tubes. I have no idea if it will work with the trading interface, or drag and drop either.

Common IO recipes originally existed at all levels in beta (not just every 5 levels). How these got into live I have no idea. They can't be moved to the auction house because there's probably no database ID associated with level 29 IOs, so the auction house and email system don't know what to "call" them.

Gavin, you still interested in the other one? Since I can't tell if Billz bid is an actual one or joking.
He bid $2.50, so he's probably joking.

Though technically he won the bid because $2.50 has real value and any amount of inf. you care to name does not (meaning you can go to McDonalds and buy a couple double cheeseburgers with $2.50, they do not accept influence as legal tender there)

They really should put up a sign about that. Worst birthday party ever.

I'm interested, but give others a little more time to beat my bid. =) My global is @Gavinruneblade and I'm online most evenings after 9:00pm PST. Toss me a PM and I'll try to setup a meet and we'll see if you can trade them.

Grats to both Fulmens and to you! I hope they can be transfered and don't get wiped like the other one.
I had a small collection of buggy drops on Diablo II, and always wanted to see one here.

That is pretty neat. I love that no matter how tested, debugged, reported, cleaned up, rewritten, slimmed for efficeincy software becomes there is always something that doesn't quite work right or shouldn't officially exist.

Just proves we are humans and not robots after all.

Unless we are robots with a sense of whimsy.
