Was there a PPD costume then? I know there was resistance and one for the loyalists. Because I looked at it, didn't like it, then never used it. Heh. I thought it was the IDF one but must not have been.
  2. I tried to find the specifics in game and on the wiki, but no luck.

Do they have any desirable effect on procs and globals?

Is there a difference between a 30+ and a 31 IO? Other than, for instance there are no 31 Basilisk's Gaze pieces? I mean can a level 27 slot a 30+ IO or would they have to be level 28?

And what's with the patch notes saying they can't be removed from base storage?

    BS vs WM vs Axe?

Lethal is highly resisted (I'm looking at you Robots!), so I prefer Mace over all three.
My understanding from brutes is that Mace vs Axe, mace has a lot more guaranteed effects vs Axe's % effects. And a couple of key powers mace does more damage.

Is that true on Scrappers? Or am I confuzzeled again?

And yeah, the missions beyond that are quite a bit different from the old-style "enter cave, punch dudes, win" missions.
Also there's supposedly some mechanic about being able to clear a zone of badguys and have longbow spawn instead so you feel like you accomplished something.

I haven't tested this yet but heard people askign about the message it gives on teams about a shared world or something.

It was included in some versions of going rogue at least. I think the complete collection?

Not sure if it was in all of them or not.

Just because it took 10 minutes on average during peak play time to find a trial doesn't do anything for a person playing well after peak play time.

Wait times in the queue are highly variable and dependent on lots of factors, none of which an average expresses very well. I can't think of a single number value that does. Some kind of Poisson distribution might, but that's not very intuitive. I just think showing exactly how many folks are waiting is a better and more accurate indication of your chances of getting a trial soon.
That's a solid point. I'll sign on to how many are waiting as the best solution I've heard so far.

But until then, I still wish that the way they calculate average would stop being dominated by the premades.

My guideline has been that it's only worth it if the recipe is selling for 100+ million influence.
    I'm similar. For 32 Astrals, I want 150m+
    For 16 Astrals I want 70m+

    Beam Rifle/what?

As a complete incompetent goob when it comes to builds, does anyone have a build for a beam/poison I can pilfer?

Ok, don't cross the streams. Thanks for the important safety tip NeoSaturn.

They'll be like the other Paragon Market enhancements, and can not be sold or traded to other players (you can swap them between your own characters, though!).

I can't recall exactly right now, but the set bonuses seemed fairly decent (a few odd ones), and the procs are pretty awesome for some ATs (kinda meh for others). Things also might change, since the only info we have is what people found while at PAX, I believe.
I kept hearing people say that the rewards for the monthly story arc for VIPs only were really good. What is the reward. for some dumb reason I read about the AT-specific recipes and assumed they were the reward. But then I realized I'd never heard that anywhere and just invented it so thought I should look... I tried looking and all I can find are people saying how great the reward is, but not WHAT the reward is.

    My search-fu sucks. =)

Another thing I'd like to see is the number of people waiting in the queue. I think some feedback is critical. "Average" wait time is no good if there's only three people waiting, your effective wait time is infinity if that happens.
I would like to see the average wait time tweaked to ignore anyone with a wait time of less than 30 seconds, possibly 1 minute (this would remove nearly all premades and give a much more accurate view).

Fireball isn't relevant to a discussion of single-target damage unless it does moer than a ST attack.

as far as your questions however, Microcosm seems to think so, and he's tried it. I have not. but am looking at making at least 1 stalker for Exalted and not sure what sets to take. Besides, can always go /nin and use caltrops instead of waterspout and if there's a group, fireball instead of AS.

but my question was more about single-target damage, not aoe. The postulate from microcosm was that in ST damage, the waterspout/lightning rod trick was a significant boost to elm's damage. My question is to extrapolate: is the same true of other sets using the new attacks?
  13. They are very nice. I have the gamestop version. The knockdown proc is very handy mitigation in praetoria slotted into an AoE. And they are basically SOs you can slot at level 1 and never expire. Drop two into your key low-level attack power and you're golden.

I keep forgetting to test how they exemplar. Like does the proc turn back on below 20, and does the enhancement value get reduced if you drop very low.

But even if they do get negatives in both those instances, they still work wonders for levelling, which is what they were intended for.
  14. Thanks for the follow up. I know you don't get the tokens immediately as in today. I'll gamble that they will fix the issue before they take down the Celestial armor. I want it, but doesn't have to be like, today. Just before they swap it out with something else.
  15. So, jumping in with some questions due to the i21 changes.

Do the new travel power attacks break hide? Do they crit from hide? Are any of them any good?

Just wondering if MA/ can duplicate the electric trick of waterspout-buildup-lightingrod-AS by using waterspout-buildup-springattack-AS and if so, is that at all worth while?
  16. FYI, I was in a group for the new underground trial last night on one of my brutes, and there were so many elite bosses away from the rest of their spawns, that absolutely and for certain stalkers would have a ton of fun ripping them to pieces.

In fact, we had three in my league and I had to use gloom to get in hits from range before they were dropping the guys.

On the other hand, that final battle, was a complete cluster F-----. Went from steamroll to brickwall and fail in 5 seconds. Nothing to do with the stalkers, just no one was able to deal significant damage to the avatar for any extended period of time and it kept healing up. then desdemona got bugged, fell through the geometry somewhere and was killed by we don't know what (she was untargettable even via the blue health bar and not in sight anywhere). Other than that last few minutes the trial was an absolute blast, visually the coolest thing I've seen in a while and I can't wait to do it again on both of my stalkers.

as an aside, is anyone else bummed that the incarnate trial enemy confuse doesn't let you attack your teammates? I keep trying to drop AS on heros during the prisoner escape of BAF and getting "invalid target" messages. Total bummer.
  17. I have a similar question.

Shortened short version: Does a 1 year sub +$100 worth of points (in the bundle) give more than 19 tokens "immediately"?

    Long version:
Right now I have two open slots on tier 6. I want the Celestial armor. So I seem to need 14 tokens to get all of tiers 7 and 8, +2 to finish Tier 6, then +3 to get the full celestial armor. That's a total of 19 tokens needed correct?

Now, I plan to get a yearly subscription which will "soon" give all those tokens in advance. How many is that? 12 I think? So i'll only need 7 more? Does anything change if I just paid in August for 3 months?

Per the above posts at that stage a single $100 will net me 9,600 points and 8 tokens which gets me to the celestial set plus 1 token left over for later.

Am I right or confused somewhere?

Well, I know I'm confused in general but confused in regards to this.
  18. I have virtually all of the booster pack items showing up with the option to buy even though I bought them all before. Also 90% of the other expansion items. In other words everything that isn't free with VIP status the store thinks I haven't bought and gives me the option to buy again.

I haven't yet had the time to try using and of them since discovering this.

Spewing flames from the mouth just doesn't work with a tech-themed character!

    Thanks
Why not? You flamethrower doesn't fit? If you can mount it on your hand why can't you mount it anywhere else?

And I have a cyber dragon for whom it is perfect. I wish I could fireball out my mouth too.

Not saying you shouldn't have the option. I do think it's odd also and I'm a big believer that more options = better.
  20. I've had my stalker specifically requested for a Barracuda. But that's about it. And usually it's more important to have a MM/Defender and doms temp power is better than the stalker version anyway, so it's rare, but it has happened.

    Once at least.
  21. We can crit twice if needed.

Note: It makes me sad that Ian doesn't play/make CoH comics any more. Sigh. And he hid the old strips about his banned toons.

After about 18 trials I had common interface and judgment and a rare alpha, destiny and lore. I felt like he contributed to just about all stages though did not particularly "shine" at any one thing. Let me add, there were plenty of other brutes as well as scrappers and tankers.

I then started on my stalker. I have done about 12 missions (and one Weekly task force) to get a rare alpha and a rare destiny and a common judgment. During that time there was only 1 other stalker.

My MA/SR stalker is particularly "stalker-ish" in that he fits the stereo-type of being light on AOE. Pretty much none (well the exploding shuriken) until the judgment power (void IIRC). Also pretty a one-trick pony when it comes to surviving: defense.

So against the "trash" mobs he faces early in a trial, he's not particularly helpful. Every point of DPS helps, but still. He's also one of less helpful in the prisoner escape phase of BAF. And should he attract the attention of more than one or two mobs, he goes down quick (though I have learned to stock up on purples since I discovered "soft cap" defense isn't good enough).

On the other hand, I like him better than my brute for dealing with the lab-dash in Lamda. Sneak to crate/containment cell, spike damage, move on. And against AVs he deals hella damage with the increased crit rate. I do with assassin strike would be more useful as a tool. Basically have to have placate, AS and BU ready to use it and then hope you don't get some splash damage or the AV moves and ruins your plans.

So a mixed bag, which is probably about right. Also, never not been accepted into trial team because I was an lolstalker.

So, what have been the experiences of others?
My Dark/Dark has fun soloing the turrets in Lambda while the teams clear the streets. I usually get 2 of them before everyone moves inside, then a third before they clear inside and catch up to me in the rotation.

My spines plinks on things with his crappy low damage aoe's and pretends he's helping. (by crappy, low damage I mean throw spines is dealing 34-ish).

But I've never been turned down a spot.

    It's not specifically a tricorder.

  25. I'm with claws, not getting beam anytime soon. I'll be putting my points to costumes and storage (recipes, salvage, inspirations, and auction) for quote some time. Beam rifle I may or may not ever pick up.
