Stalkers in Incarnate Trials

Just going to give a little of my experience in hopes of getting a conversation starting.

I "leveled" my Ax/wp brute to +3 by grinding out x8 mission for shards for the common Alpha before I starting trials. After about 18 trials I had common interface and judgment and a rare alpha, destiny and lore. I felt like he contributed to just about all stages though did not particularly "shine" at any one thing. Let me add, there were plenty of other brutes as well as scrappers and tankers.

I then started on my stalker. I have done about 12 missions (and one Weekly task force) to get a rare alpha and a rare destiny and a common judgment. During that time there was only 1 other stalker.

My MA/SR stalker is particularly "stalker-ish" in that he fits the stereo-type of being light on AOE. Pretty much none (well the exploding shuriken) until the judgment power (void IIRC). Also pretty a one-trick pony when it comes to surviving: defense.

So against the "trash" mobs he faces early in a trial, he's not particularly helpful. Every point of DPS helps, but still. He's also one of less helpful in the prisoner escape phase of BAF. And should he attract the attention of more than one or two mobs, he goes down quick (though I have learned to stock up on purples since I discovered "soft cap" defense isn't good enough).

On the other hand, I like him better than my brute for dealing with the lab-dash in Lamda. Sneak to crate/containment cell, spike damage, move on. And against AVs he deals hella damage with the increased crit rate. I do with assassin strike would be more useful as a tool. Basically have to have placate, AS and BU ready to use it and then hope you don't get some splash damage or the AV moves and ruins your plans.

So a mixed bag, which is probably about right. Also, never not been accepted into trial team because I was an lolstalker.

So, what have been the experiences of others?

My Dark/Dark has fun soloing the turrets in Lambda while the teams clear the streets. I usually get 2 of them before everyone moves inside, then a third before they clear inside and catch up to me in the rotation.

My spines plinks on things with his crappy low damage aoe's and pretends he's helping. (by crappy, low damage I mean throw spines is dealing 34-ish).

But I've never been turned down a spot.

I absolutely love my claws/nin stalker in BAF and Lambda. I find that she does have trouble with Keyes, but I most often run Keyes on my sonic/pain corr anyway.

Is she contributing? I certainly think so, although I suppose some might argue the point. More so in Lambda, because she can solo crates and acid containers. Of course, I realize other ATs can do that, as well. But she brings damage, good survivability (really), and now that she's Incarnated, she's bringing those powers to the table too. Even in Keyes, where she doesn't fare as well in terms of survivability, her Rebirth is certainly helping. But what's critical to me is that I love playing her. Yes, I want to contribute to the team/league, but as part of that team effort I get to have fun too. She brings enough, more than enough, really, for me to enjoy the experience of playing her and not feel like I'm somehow leeching off the league.

And yeah, I've never been turned down for a spot yet. I've also lead a couple of trials with her. So far, nobody in any trial I've been in has had anything to say about the presence of stalkers in the league, and I've been in leagues where I was not the sole stalker.

FYI, I was in a group for the new underground trial last night on one of my brutes, and there were so many elite bosses away from the rest of their spawns, that absolutely and for certain stalkers would have a ton of fun ripping them to pieces.

In fact, we had three in my league and I had to use gloom to get in hits from range before they were dropping the guys.

On the other hand, that final battle, was a complete cluster F-----. Went from steamroll to brickwall and fail in 5 seconds. Nothing to do with the stalkers, just no one was able to deal significant damage to the avatar for any extended period of time and it kept healing up. then desdemona got bugged, fell through the geometry somewhere and was killed by we don't know what (she was untargettable even via the blue health bar and not in sight anywhere). Other than that last few minutes the trial was an absolute blast, visually the coolest thing I've seen in a while and I can't wait to do it again on both of my stalkers.

as an aside, is anyone else bummed that the incarnate trial enemy confuse doesn't let you attack your teammates? I keep trying to drop AS on heros during the prisoner escape of BAF and getting "invalid target" messages. Total bummer.
