Just checked on paragonwiki and it claims to be an accuracy bonus but it is actually tohit so the Kismet is better.
Also, in the end I decided I couldn't live without Lightning Field and pulled PowerSurge and put it in as my last pick with no slots. Will be running a single DAM/End or maybe a triple or quad if the numbers look better, not sure.
thanks for the help all! -
The thing I want to know is how did I generate a level 41 training origin hold enhancement?
I wasn't paying attention when it dropped so I have no idea where or when it happened. -
-
You need to reserve the name, but save the character for kinetics. Since kinetics is all about transfer of force it is very appropriate.
-
I think their moustache is in the options. Not sure all my characters are cleanshaven. But I think I saw it.
-
Keep in mind that Stealth will also accept defense sets, including the luck of the gambler recharge bonus, gift of the ancients move speed bonus, and the Kismet tohit bonus.
If you PvP it also gets you invisibility which holds a second Gambler recharge, and together they unlock Phase.
For those who don't know, in PvP phase is rather cool because two phased characters can hit each other. Shame the Carnies weren't modded to use this. I'd love ot have them phase out, click my phase and keep pounding them.
Anyway, precisely because it is a power and not an enhancement it has versatility and potential that the stealth IOs alone will never have. Also, as mentioned it stacks with the stealth IO to provide complete invisibility (in PvE) against enemies that are subject to stealth.
To the poster above who mentioned snipers, they do not ignore stealth they just have a very high perception range. Knives of Artemis and Rikti Drones however, do ignore stealth. -
Heraclea's guide to i16 compatibility should be linked somewhere that is stickied.

Quote:I am betting that it will rather be "quite few" not "quite a few". In fact, I'll be surprised if it hits double digits on most servers. With the Going Rogue system, there will be quite a few heroes that have access to villainous content.
The number of people moving from villains to hero however, I expect to be catastrophic. -

Yes, buildup is empty because of a bug with suckerpunch's planner where you can't put gaussians into it.
No travel power because I couldn't fit it in hehe. I could pull power surge, but on strike forces, it has come in really handy too many times when something goes wrong that I don't really want to go without it. and my other build is more mobile anyway.
thanks for telling me the numbers, I can't find them out myself I just manually tried to check if I was overslotting anything.
One question, on weave, am I better with the 4th slot of gambler for 9% accuracy or dropping in a Kismet? I think kismet is more since that's a tohit bonus right? -
Quote:Justice is also the Oceanic server and if you're online at Aussie hours the channel "Australia" will have plenty of activity.JFA2010 and Justice United. They have their quiet times, but usually its lots of TF's or offers to team. I throw out offers to team almost daily.
But I am with the others, there's no rush. The silly thing about rushing to 50 is once you get there, most of the content is going to involve exemplaring back down. So might as well just play the game, enjoy the character and when you get there you get there. -
Made some changes, this look viable? Any stupid mistakes? Can I gloom->chain induction-Jacob's Ladder->charged brawl seemlessly?

Quote:Read this thread to see some of the best in the scrapper forums discussing how to prevent cascading defense failure. Complete with discussing how to make shield builds that can simply stand in the middle of a swarm of romans:Im farming solo, I have no external buffs and I'm on +3 x8 with bosses. You make it sound as if defense debuffs have little to no effect on a shield brute. So what specifically would you do to make sure it is "built right" so I am impervious to defense debuffs?
Quote:Okay, I just tried this with a group of 52s on the Wall. Sadly, no bosses were present, but I had 3 Lts, the rest minions of mixed types.
Results: I left my character surrounded by them for 5 mins. She did not die. She did have defense drop as low as 29%, but it didn't stay there very long. More often, the defense would get to 42% but never lower than that. She did drop in hitpoints to 1500 or so (she has close to 2050 or something like that), but regened it back every time.
I'm fairly sure I could've left her there for another 5 mins and not died. It would probably be different if there were bosses present since the crits would hurt.
DDR as I monitored it stayed consistently at 69.98%, never falling below or getting higher than that even when I hit hasten.
I'm not sure what's different on my build than yours. She has 2050 hitpoints, pretty good regen, 85% global recharge, soft capped to all positions.
Barring bosses, I don't think I could die against that group. I didn't pick that particular group to purposely try to skew the results, I just picked the first bunch of 52s that had spawned on the Wall on Virtue.
In previous encounters with the Romans, it's always been a string of crits from the bosses that did me in, not defense failure. -
That's the only gun I've seen my commando use. But I got so sick of his knockback and the rest of the team's constant death that I stopped playing the character.

Quote:If the trade off is lower damage for more control then to me it's not worth it. Giving me a permadom is a bit like giving a parapalegic a Bugati Veyron: without feet you really can't drive it properly. It kind of pains me to take a build so close to perma-dom and not push it over the top, but you said that's not a priority.
Now if it's like that 400dps fire/fire build Frosticus is floating in the Archetypes forum the permadom is just a way to maintain endurance to support the damage. That I could get behind.
I like the build. Clear spots for longterm upgrades include swapping purples for one of the Posi sets and probably into Ice Sword and one of the ranged blasts as well. Level 50s for the common IOs. Hmm.
Stamina gets better numbers from the Performance shifter proc and the endmod, plus you get a wimpy set bonus out of the deal. If SuperSpeed is just a host for the -knockback I'd probably snag hover instead. I can get the stealth bonus from sprint with a +Stealth IO so hover can hold the zephyr and occasionally give me combat flight at a reasonable end cost.
I like this one. Works as is and gives me a clear path for long-term spending. Thank you! -
What I want are the unbound nictus. But I can't find those anywhere.
-
Coolness. Thanks for the answer Mac. I know a few people who will enjoy that!
-
The explosions are pretty much the best looking death in all of CoX.
-
Shield defense has a ton of defense reduction resistance. In fact Shield Defense is one of the best powersets to bring against the Cimerorans for that specific reason. If you're build right you shouldn't have any problem with defense reduction.

Quote:Low level: flip large insps.Really? How? I guess I just don't get the market thing. I've honestly been trying the last month. I've been in this forum reading everything I can. Most of the tutorials are old. I have 3 50's blue side. I've tried the "just play the game and sell everything" method. I've tried crafting and selling, I've tried a few other things listed on tuturials. That didn't get me 3 Billion. Heck the most I have on any of my 50's is (was... I started to buy some IO's) 120 Mil. I have to assume there is some basic simple thing I am missing.
I'd love to have some of the expensive IO's. And I'd love to find a way that fits my time/schedule to earn them myself. But so far I just haven't found that.
So when I see a post that says I got 3 billion in 6 weeks. It just makes me wonder.
In AE: I turn off exp and park cahracters at 10 or 15 or 18 depending on the character and my mood. I get tickets, roll recipes and rare salvage
Some of the recipes I slot for my own use as the triples are as good/better than SOs and the duals are far better than DOs
Rare salvage is selling over 3 million reliably, this is steady easy money. I don't sell them, but I use tickets to buy them to save the Inf. I have a constant need for rares. But if you want to sell them, more power to you. it's lucrative. 17 slots at 3 million each, if you move that much every few days... do the math (and remember salvage stacks up to 10 per slot).
Big ticket recipes are not only the -kb but also the +regen unique (last two I got sold for 43 and 62 million) and a few others that can go for closer to 1 mil
Even the ones that move for a few hundred k are worth more than any mission complete bonus at that level =)
Once I have about 120 million I unlock exp and keep playing
All my characters except one have plenty of money. I've failed at every strategy, even the "buy two and sell one" made me lose inf because no one else wanted what I bought. =)
Sell everything that drops is all that worked for me. I have two with over a billion and plenty tucked away in storage in my base. If it drops, sell it. make every single auction slot work for you on every character all the time. It adds up. -
For those whose ATI cards necessitate Water Effects turned off, does Ultra Mode fix that issue?

Quote:My point is, for someone who wants the teleport beacon and doesn't care about the accolade, figuring out which explore badge they are missing is going to be a bit trickier now. Used to be, worst case scenario you visit a small number of locations and if you didn't have it in SG mode you have it now. Why? All the explore badge names are listed on the accolade hint for each zone, and I'm pretty sure that the old badges are listed before the new badges on each hint.
Find a single badge, look at the accolade progress bar, and go from the beginning of the listed badges.
combined with no message in SG mode if you already have the explore, the extra layer of also not being sure which of the badges count for the teleporter and which don't is going to be a bit more confusing for new players.
Not a big deal, and nothing the wiki won't resolve, but something I wondered about. And a lot of players don't use the wiki or vidiot maps. -
Quote:Hmm, I never have a problem with it, just hit the cairns themselves as the center of an AoE, they go down fast enough. I would prefer the shrooms and weeds but htey stop showing up in the mid 40s. Beating down the rocks is a easy way to farm on a character with weak defenses.i dislike fighting DE in large groups (especially the rock guys) because of all the cairns they summon (each one gives them 50% resist to all, and 3 cairns will cap them all at 90% resist)
most poeple that i know if they do want to kill them use the investigate freaks mish from the tv (the one where you lead the 2 poeple out and kill the nemesis) -
whenever people around me complain about that I start singing "It's a small world" I know all the verses. =)
Only been hit 3 times, but one was with a stew pot. -
Quote:You get the same reward for killing a level 1 while exemplared to 1 as you do killing a level 42 when you are 42 and not exemplared. Very handy for Defenders and Tanks =) since the early levels are the least painful for soloing. Thanks Gavin, I will try this. As long as the rewards are reasonable I will be fine. With as many alts as I run I am very comfortable running 1st levels lol.
Quote:Love the supernatural reference also. My wife has been wandering around since that episode played randomly saying "Sam, of course, is an abomination." and busting out laughing.
