Time to clean up the stickies
sent a PM to Niviene a while back, never heard about it. Also made a post here before that, got a little support, but no action. Hope you have better luck than me.
Actually, found it, sent 9/21:

I pm'd Avatea. I included a link to this thread. Maybe seeing your post will help shame them into action.

I have to agree, the stickies appear pretty random and not well maintained.
One week, no action. I'm tempted to send a PM to Dr. Aeon. He's not a forum mod, but he has unique responsibilities in the Mission Architect area. He should have a vested interest in making this forum as functional as possible. Maybe I should try Mod 08 first. I don't like the idea of shopping around for a redname, though. It seems disrespectful. On the other hand, this is at least the second time a player has made a post like this and there hasn't been any response at all.

It looks like Mod 08 is open to the idea of cleaning up stickies, so I sent him a PM pointing him to this thread. Are there any important changes to the stickies in this forum section since the OP? The guide to fitting an arc into 100k is about to get a lot less useful.

Arguably, Judgment Dave's two guides should be moved to the guides section. A lot of the others probably need to be reviewed and recreated due to many links being broken and/or outdated.
Heraclea's guide to i16 compatibility should be linked somewhere that is stickied.

I can be found, outside of paragon city here.
Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.

Of course, that guide will soon become entirely obsolete when i17 goes live; waiting on the final version of the portions that will be allotted to each power, since I suspect they will be adjusted more than once on test.

So as I type this, let me list the stickies and we can get into a discussion about how to deal with them. My basic philosophy is that if they aren't useful, they shouldn't be stickied so let us use that as a start point.
Announce Your Latest Creation Here. - This should probably stay as it seems to get use
MA Map Request Thread - This I know has been used by us, it's a good resource
Mission Architect Resources - Potentially a useful thread, need someone to compile an updated OP and I'll edit it in to the top post.
Notes on Groups and Spawns - Looks good to me, anyone disagree?
Any good level 1 forward MA's made yet? - Always a source of interest for me, let me know if people think this isn't useful
Mission Architect: Player Guides! - Possibly redundant with the resource thread above, which title would people prefer? Also we'd need someone to compile an updated OP
Mission [TAGS] for easy search - This seems like it may or may not still be useful, what do you folks think?
Size Matters - making the most of 100k - Soon to be half the post it could be, but very useful information and tips.
Anyways let me know what you think of the remaining stickies. Something to consider is the Champion Important Links Directory. This thread is a great way players can help with the "War on Stickies".
Thanks,
I think "size matters - making the most on 100k" is somewhat redundant, and outdated. For one reason - it's no longer 100kb, but 200kb (well, soon), also this was written before there was better compression on the costume files, and so the specifics could very well be wrong as well especially for the costume tips. At the very least, it could be linked in the resources sticky and then unstickied.

The mission tags are still in fairly widespread use, I think, although the full list tends to be a bit overspecialized. I always at minimum add [SFMA] to my story oriented arcs.

The "Announce your latest creation here" thread is a duplicate of the one in the Stories and Lore forum, and more properly belongs there.
The "Any good level 1 forward..." thread should also probably be there.
Eva Destruction AR/Fire/Munitions Blaster
Darkfire Avenger DM/SD/Body Scrapper
Arc ID#161629 Freaks, Geeks, and Men in Black
Arc ID#431270 Until the End of the World
I don't know about the level 1 forward in stories and lore. that distinction is just on mechanics not really story, and I think people will come here looking for them. But maybe not.

Personally, I think of this forum as being all about creating arcs, and the other forum is about playing arcs, but of course that's not the official distinction.
I'm excited to see some of those old stickies unstuck! Thanks Ocho!

"Stories and Lore" is where people go for advice on the story aspect of an arc, ask for arc recommendations, and it's where people advertise their arcs; threads advertising arcs or asking for a specific type of arc are usually there.

I would never go to the "stories and lore" to look for anything I wouldn't expect to find the "roleplaying" forum.
It would never occur to me to ask there for an arc unless I was specifically asking about cannon or roleplaying aspects of one. The minute I'm asking about "good arc for a tanker" or "anything for a pair of electrics?" or "has anyone made a sewer run clone for villains?" I'd be in here looking or in general player questions. Because nothing in those questions deals with story or lore.

I think this forum has too many stickies. Some of them need to be cleaned up. For example:
Mission Architect: Player Guides!: The original post was never updated to include the guides, and many of the links are broken now anyhow.
Proof Reading & Optional Testing: The person offering this service went on a nine month hiatus from the game. The thread no longer serves any purpose.
Mission Architect: Player Guides!: Not only does this thread suffer from all the problems of the other stickied thread with the same title, but it's redundant as well.
Devs Choice: For Your Consideration: I'm not sure this thread was ever useful, though it looks like we are getting new Dev Choice missions again. I'm still not sure about this thread, though. Does Dr. Aeon read it? Does anyone?
Size Matters - making the most of 100k: This seems like a perfectly nice guide. I don't think it needs to be stickied, though. It should be moved to the guides forum and then linked from the sticky about player guides,
MA Investigation 1 - Begins Wednesday: The game is over. No need for a sticky any more.
Dev's Choice: Becoming the Chosen One!: We have two of these as well. The actual post is useful, but we don't need it twice. Can they be merged? Or just flip a coin and unsticky one. I don't think we'll suffer terribly if we lose half the commentary on that post.
Issue 15 Mission Architect Badge Changes: What's done is done. I don't think this needs to be stickied any more, do you?
Mission Architect: Player Resources!: Maybe this info could be rolled into the sticky about player guides? Make it a Guides And Resources thread?
Transferring Missions from Test to Live!: Another duplicate. I guess that came from moving test server threads over to the live forums after I14, huh? It's a fine post, but there's no need for two of them.
Quick Note on Republishing Stories from Test: This doesn't need to be a thread of its own. It fits in just fine with the sticky about transferring missions from test to live.
Whew, that's a lot of stickies! I'm going to pm a mod and ask them to consider tidying things up.
