  1. For people who have the CoH, Test, and Beta clients on their PC how or what do we need to do (if anything) to make the new NCsoft Launcher work with all of the clients?

    Thor: Trailer 2

The stuff I've read say that the Frost Giants factor into the movie in a big way. I think that was some of what was shown at the end of the trailer.
  4. During a couple of BAF runs I tried using the League list to select my team for buffs. I found there were problems selecting a team member using key settings. I have F1 through F8 set to select team member 1 through 8 respectively. The team members on my League Team list didn't always correspond to the team member numbered slot. Hopefully that is fixed before the issue is published.

On my main, a FF/EB/Power Mastery Defender, I went with Cardiac instead of Nerve. The benefits of the Cardiac outweighed the benefits of the Nerve Alpha powers.

My character can provide 45.22% Defense to a team member, and 45.5% to myself without the Alpha Slot power enhancements. If I used Nerve Core Paragon that goes to 49.3% to team members and 48.2% for myself. I'm over the softcap in either case.

As for ACC I have an average of 315% ACC on my attacks due to my slotting. If Nerve was factored in it goes to 373%. I don't miss much without Nerve, so does it help to push it up that much more? Not really.

END consumption is the one thing I have to pay attention to. That's where Cardiac makes a noticable difference for me. I'm blasting when I'm not bubbling. That's 3:30 out of every 4 minutes. Reducing the END costs of my attacks and extending the range of the powers helps me more than adding more DEF and ACC.

Is a Nerve really worth it? It depends on how you are slotted and how you play your character. For my FF, no, it isn't.

  7. Maybe "out takes" from previous videos?

For example: on the STF there is a lighting technician that crosses in front of the camera setting Lord Recluse off (a Christian Bale spoof). The heroes rally to the aid of the technician.

  8. I'm having the same problem.

It started after I logged out to switch characters. I had a download happen when I logged in the first time. After I logged out I had a second download occur. I got past the login server, but got the "no response from this server" message when I selected my world server.

I reverified. I've flushed my DNS. Both did not solve the problem.

Now I'm about to reboot to see if that fixes anything.

Update: Rebooting and revalidating has not solved the problem.

FF doesn't even make your list? An AV still has a very small chance to hit against a capped Defense. Of course with FF it means the team has to find other ways to accelerate the fight since debuffs are not in the set.

I can not agree with you on this. My FF Defender is very, very solo capable and is great for teaming too. His personal Defense is above the softcap for positional attacks, and even higher for Engery and Negative damage attacks. On top of that he softcaps the Defense on others. It's a win-win situation in terms of soloing and teaming.

  11. For my FF/EB Defender I'll be making one of each Cardiac, Musculature, and Nerve types. I'll start with the Cardiac because I get an immediate benefit to my endurance consumption rate. Then I'll add the other 2 as I earn the necessary shards. The plan is to swap out the Alpha for the one I need at the time.

  12. 78 month vet. Longer if you count closed beta. A whole lot longer when I include the pre-game following of the development and community forums.

My reasons are similar to others.

I like to play MMO's for gaming fun, and the social interaction that comes with it.

The game is science fiction in nature and modern in period instead of high fantasy. I get to use plasma and nanobots instead of magic missles or relic swords.

The game concept is based on comic book heroes & villains. I've always enjoyed comic books. This game allows me to be a hero in a way that superhero RPG's like Champions allowed me to play them.

The friends I've made, and continue to make, who share a common interest in gaming and having fun within MMO's.

It's solo friendly. I don't have to team if I don't want to. I enjoy teaming, but there are times when I'm just as happy to do a few missions by myself.

Forums/Community: the community and Devs have found a common ground that fosters a positive environment for its players.

  13. My WS was level 35 at the time, and dinged 36 during the ITF.

The ITF setting was at 50. That may be associated with the "no power showing up" bug.
  14. I've checked my Temp Power list multiple times. The power is not listed.

I don't know if it is because 1) my character is a Warshade, or 2) I was on a TF at the time of claiming it (the ITF), or 3) a combination of the 2.

The petition has been elevated to the 2nd level of support, and the bug report has been pushed through to the QA team.
  15. I've filed a bug report in the Technical/Bug forum and in-game reporting that the veteran power is not being granted properly when claimed.

I was in-game doing an ITF last night on my level 35 Warshade. On the first mission of the ITF I decided to claim the 78 month badge power in order to keep a healthy stock of XP bonus during the TF. I received a message I had claimed the power, but it became apparent that no power was actually added to my power listing or tray. Searching through the combat attribute power list proved that the power was not listed as accessible to the character.

  16. I claimed the 78 month badge power on my Warshade last night. I received the message I was granted the power, but no power was added to the Combat Attributes (powers) list.

I was on an ITF at the time I claimed the power. I don't think that should matter, but it's a fact associated to when I claimed the power.

I've filed a bug report and a petition concerning the issue.

    Invincible

I read it. It's one of the few comics I still pick up.
  18. Has anyone tested to validate if you must unlock the Alpha Slot for each build of a dual build?

    Faserip

My level 50 FF/Energy Blast/Power Mastery Defender didn't cleanly fit into most of your categories since your lists didn't go into the powers of his sets. I had to use the "similar to" method to match up the powers.

He's a 75 month vet, so I included those powers where a similar power was listed. He's also completely slotted with IO sets and Purples, so that drove up the numbers in the bonus category. He's also a full blown inventor, so I used the creator method.

Also, my character has 47.1% defense to the most common types of damage, and 46.8% defense to positional attacks (above soft-cap), 47% resistance to S/L, most (if not all) of the accolades that provide combat boosts, and can use PFF to become practically untouchable. Those numbers are reflected in the Fighting and Agility numbers since they represent the "defense against" abilitites.

    Fighting: 70 (Mn)
    Agility: 122 (Un)
    Strength: 60 (Am)
    Endurance: 97 (Un)
    Reason: 131 (Shift X)
    Intuition: 105 (Un)
    Psyche: 110 (Un)

The numbers may look crazy, but they do match up with the various heroes and villains in the Marvel Universe that he's been patterned after. For example, Invisible Woman has Mn for her FF's, and Dr. Doom has Un for his version of PFF. It sort of falls down though when Mr. Fantastic has Reason of 50 while Tony Stark has a 40 in that category.

Your method to calculate the values adds the power abilitites into the base numbers. The MSH:RPG uses powers to replace the values of those categories in most cases. For example, Invisible Woman has a Fighting of Ex 20, but her Force Fields negate things into the Mn range. Figuring out how to do that might with your system might be better than a straight addition and % of level calculation.
  20. Ryan Murphy said this in an interview with E! last month:

"The core of the show is really about tolerance," Murphy explains. "I think that's the legacy of Glee more than anything else. So as we began the year we were very conscious of that. Last year the throughline was about teenage pregnancy. And the throughline this year is really about Kurt and his feelings about tolerance, not only in high school and in the world, but also the ripple effect it has on everybody around him."
  21. I also thought it was a very good episode. It was well written, and performed with care. The cast did a great job not pushing it too far, which they could have done. I can see why the producers considered it a controversial episode, but they pulled it off with elegance.
  22. Being able to play a superhero in a MMO is what drew me to CoX.

I have played Champions since 1982, and I have enjoyed superhero comics since I was a child. I've also been a long time MMO player. Combining those elements into one thing is a huge draw for me. I started monitoring the CoH development almost 3 years before it went live because of my interest in playing a superhero themed MMO.

  23. My characters will end up with selections from their primary and secondary powers in most cases. For my Defender it means taking a couple of powers I respec'd out of a while ago because some pool powers were better for the build. Now I'll have the opportunity to bring them back into the build.

The biggest change I'm going to see is the picked order (at which levels) I select the powers. Between levels 12 through 28 the order changes substantially because I no longer have to delay picks because I took 3 powers from Fitness.

I agree. Her feature numbers were very well done. I fully enjoyed the whole episode. The only thing I was left wondering about is what Brittany will sound like on songs that are a little less synthesized (which is what most of Britney Spears' music sounds like to me). I think she'll do well.
  25. "Britney/Brittany" Song List:

    1. Rachel, '...Baby One More Time' (Britney Spears)
    2. Artie, 'Stronger' (Britney Spears)
    3. Cast of Glee, 'Oops!...I Did It Again.' (Britney Spears)
    4. Will and New Directions, 'Toxic' (Britney Spears)
    5. Brittany, 'Me Against the Music' (Britney Spears and Madonna)
    6. Brittany, 'I'm a Slave 4 U' (Britney Spears)
    7. Cast of Glee, 'The Only Exception' (Paramore)
