  1. The more I team with those with incarnate powers, the more I end up soloing.

Several people on the team with Judgement power means mobs die. My blasters, scrappers, and stalkers have become irrelevant; and these ATs are what I play the most (as in nearly always, except for an MM once in awhile).

IOs are borderline game breaking. I don't min/max with them so my characters are just a little more powerful with them over using SOs, but that can be compensated for with the difficulty slider.

I'd prefer to start out as a full-fledged hero; maybe even start a real villain once in awhile. Not everyone is amoral in the beginning, at adulthood or whenever age our characters start out at.

What could be done, using the current system as a base, is that you select the type you want to play: Hero, Vigilante, Rogue, Villain. More options could be added, or possibly those mentioned subdivided; for examples, Villain might give you two options: independent or joining Arachnos, Hero could divided into Freedom Phalanx, Vanguard, independent. Those selections determine your first contact instead of the Origins doing so now.
  3. What I would change (besides many other points already mentioned)...

More genre options, within some limits to stay comic-book like, such as:

    1) my fav (see my avatar pix ) (that I can't seem to play in CoX without wanting to get properly clothed after a bit since you can't spend ALL the time in jungle/woods): jungle/forest denizen/protector. Have every, or nearly every zone, have some forest or heavily-wooded park area so that one can level from 1 to 50 (or whatever the level cap is) staying within that theme. The enemies are appropiate as well. Several story arcs would follow that theme, but also could tie in with other heroes doing them, also. (different contact, slightly different wording).

    2) water-themed, like in 1 (could be lakes and rivers, I like the Hollows river area btw), perhaps with a river running through a forest so 1 & 2 can share some story arcs).

    3) magic themed, for more levels than COT and their story-arcs presents. Probably just add a couple main magical villain or two with story arcs to go with the COT arcs; they would not appear as street spawns.

(3 brings up a point: not every villain group has to be seen on the streets, some that currently are would no longer be: I see you, Malta.)

    4) ape kingdom (can go with 1 & 2)

    5) dinosaurs (can go with 1 & 2), dinosaur area could be adjacent to the ape kingdom so have an area where giant ape fights dinosaur at times.

Except, the trees (blue and red sides) are really bad graphically themselves. I'd like to see a Praetoria make-over given to Paragon City and Rogue Isles for the natural effects of trees and bushes (what? no, I don't hang out behind them THAT much )

Ambient occlusion, meh. Shadows are great, but I can't run them without taxing my machine a bit, so I'll look for a moment with shadows on then turn them off.

    Color in titles?

meh.. I rarely use titles, and I rarely have names displayed. I do not see names floating above people's heads in real life, why should I in a game that I prefer to get immersed in? If I want to see who they are I'll mouse over them. (Wait, is "mouse" a verb now? )
  6. We don't need any more options to have egomaniacs make superubergod versions of themselves. You'll just have settle for the current options of ubergod versions that still wet their beds.
  7. Referring to AE:

I can imagine quite a lot, and what's in AE doesn't even come close to that.

I'd have preferred a map editor over a creature editor, at first. I want to make missions where heroes save people from falling buildings or wrecked vehicles; or traverse through a jungle, but the 3 outdoor maps with trees don't even come close (part of the maze of Perez Park with the green mists would do, though).

Instead we get a tool to make missions with the same maps and objectives as the rest of the game. This is okay, but I wanted a lot more mission location options, not bigger badder boss options.

The Devs still could improve AE, but I doubt they will. Perhaps the new base editor could be the same as the AE map editor, or at least very similar but with different options. Hah! ... as if either will ever happen.

Yep, I have the same problem.. must be the game. Really.

And thanks to another poster for the Y/N binds.
  9. *sigh* So add another name to the list of people who do not want variety in missions and mission objectives.

Running Crimson is a pain since he gives Synapse a run for his money in a race.

Running bosses is annoying, but the occassional one I don't mind. Maybe if they didn't quite run so fast? Or, what CoX needs is movable terrain in missions: set up passage blockage with things in the mission and not having to require some powers to do it (i.e., Caltrops, Snowstorm). *Bing* Idea, new temp power: Caltrops. But I guess then you could have griefers, but at least a teammate or a leader has a choice: leave or kick.

Here's an idea: a runnng boss that fights and runs and fights. When reinforcements arrive (read: ambush) he stops to lead their attack against you for a short moment, probably until total health of him and reinforcements reaches some low point, and then he runs again until the next ambush.

I want more variety in the way missions behave. Things have improved over the years, but, of course, I want more.
  10. This is not about a bone-tossing emote?

    *shuffles off*

What exactly is there not to like about a crazed god-emperor who's the apparent champion of a mystical source of ultimate power than spans the multiverse launching an invasion of giant evil war robots to enslave an entire world?
Tyrant and his loyalist stormtroopers are exactly the kind of threat high level Heroes should be taking on.

    Meh.

So some bad guy and his army is storming the front gates and most of you will be there to meet that. Great, for you. What about the back gate? Or the little sewer tunnel? Who is going to keep guard on those locations? What if the army at the front is a Nemesis plo... er, a diversion?

Praetoria lost it's shininess to me within a month. I like wearing white hats, not gray ones. I don't start new characters there, except for one because I wanted to play a "villain AT" as a hero and within 4 levels deleted and rerolled to start in the Rogue Isles.
  12. I love banter on teams. It's a sad thing when NPCs have better banter than teammates. Banter is THE one thing that can make the repetitious content not so repetitious.

I now put in my teamsearch window: "LF chatty teams; if I want silence I'll keep soloing". It might be why I don't get many invites any more (not that I was getting many anyway since I don't play 'healzors' or kin ATs, or tanks).

  14. Might be easier to create a few new Snipe IO sets that let people alter what the power does, like IOs were promised to do. For example since it's what was suggested: add an AoE effect "proc" *. As it is, most current Snipe sets are near worthless (IMO).

    * Personally, I hate most procs. If I want the power to do something else, then let it for 100% of the time. Even if it takes 2 enhancements adding it up, like each one adds 50% chance to activate then 2 will make it 100%. But I digress.
  15. The walls are annoying and ugly, but I put up with them knowing the reasons and backstory.

The only time I really would like them to be gone is when I take a screenshot and those glaring walls are in the background. Reducing the visible range sometimes removes them (depending on distance) but also messes with other backdrop effects, like street lights without the poles or smoke from a smokestack without the smokestack being visible.

It's really annoying if I'm telling a story, comic book fashion (pictures+words), of my character NOT actually in the City universe (e.g., a jungle girl, not that I've done that story, yet, just got 4 adventure ideas so far).
  16. I thought The Fifth Element was the 5th Die Hard movie.

Oh boo hoo. So is your suggestion. The powers are just fine. And if you didn't get the clue from the previous poster, and I doubt you did, turn on Sprint and you'll go faster. You do not have a free power to activate to jump higher.
  18. It's supposed to be remote (as others have said). I could see a helicopter drop off point at the southern tip where you could have a few (lot less than now) Arachnos spawns. Be neat to see a small military campsite there (marked off area on the beach for the helicopter, couple of tents, a quonset hut, etc).

I'd like to see a lot of the spawns removed as well. There isn't any hunt missions there, right? (remove them, too).

    Thank you.

Assume? The ones I've seen have a blazing billboard above the character's head saying "This is my uber all-powerful character and you're an insignficant worm, now keep up if you can and watch a real super do things" as an ally or as an enemy so powerful I'm amazed they haven't taken over the world. Those AE arcs I quit immediately.

For those that have put in their characters and I haven't noticed : great work!
  20. I've wondered the same thing. I play for fun, the rewards are just a side benefit.

It's a virtual material world these days.

Some of us don't use xp loss (or debt) as a measure, but instead of actually thinking of the character not wanting to be defeated (and would be killed by some of those villianous groups) at all.

Do YOU personally liked to be knocked out and find yourself in the hospital the next time you wake up? I know I wouldn't.

As for the topic, I've mostly played hero tip missions and they don't seem that extra hard to me. Well, except that Malta one but once I knew about it I go in with lots of purple inspirations, and the new one "save the Bane spider" (or whatever the name is) with all the bosses was a pain for my blaster.
