I hope they add better tips for villain, Im playing them with my heroes to get I19 badges and this make me hate red side more than ever.
Villain tips are a total pain with my most hated insanely huge maps.

won't happen.

Tip missions deliberately place players against the hardest enemies in the hardest situations.

The comparative difficulty of Tip Missions is one of the reasons the developers are comfortable with the relatively high reward results of the Alignment Merits for Heroes and Villains, and the regular merits for Rogues and Vigilantes.

I really hate to sound like a huge, condescending b-word, but tip missions are supposed to be hard? Short of the Malta ambush in that one Hero tip (which I heard got nerfed anyway) I didn't find any tips harder than the other content in the game.

I'd say they're up to date, which means they include more use of newer mob factions that have (often indirectly) been made harder with time. Personally I think it can be a tad rude to run into Longbow foes as a hero, and you get that in tip missions. There's also the DE in the high-level tips, which have explicitly been made to have I think it's +14% base toHit against player characters, which I think counts as being a bit harder. I'm not sure that's explicitly unique to tip missions though - that may just be the first place we're running into a new, ramped up DE.

Mostly I think the tip missions are designed to be more complex in terms of their internal flow of objectives, using more of the tools we see in AE missions. Stuff like chained objectives, where you can't do X until you complete X, mandatory ambush fights, custom bosses (which are sometimes your clone), etc. These things make a lot of the tip missions harder if not actually hard, because you often can't just race to the end, defeat a boss and be done.

Seconding this, I've had no problems with the 20 or so I've run with my 30-something once-Praetorian troller - I'm not even sure he's ever died on any of them.

I don't have a problem with them, if anything I hope they increase the bank of tip missions over time

Maybe because Im doing lvl 50 tips.
Didnt had problems with 30s or 40s...
Is just sometimes objetives are not clear enough and circle cave maps are too damn huge sometimes.
Tip missions are silly and short most of times, but sometimes I lost a lot of time in a huge map with non clear objetives.

Never had a problem with lvl 50 vill tips, on my hero, or villain toons. While they do have some of the tougher NPCs. Also at lvl 50 why does it matter if you "die" on a mission or not, you are not gaining XP.

I dont care about XP on lvl 50, obviously.
But those HUGE maps and the not very clear objetives on some missions make them annoying and take too much time.
Btw, never had a problem with any NPC boss or something...

Some of us don't use xp loss (or debt) as a measure, but instead of actually thinking of the character not wanting to be defeated (and would be killed by some of those villianous groups) at all.

Do YOU personally liked to be knocked out and find yourself in the hospital the next time you wake up? I know I wouldn't.

As for the topic, I've mostly played hero tip missions and they don't seem that extra hard to me. Well, except that Malta one but once I knew about it I go in with lots of purple inspirations, and the new one "save the Bane spider" (or whatever the name is) with all the bosses was a pain for my blaster.

I havent noticed difficulty being much different red/blue side.

Some tips are a bigger PITA than others on both sides.

I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.

Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.

So sad to be ending ):

To me, hero and rogue tips are easy, fun and fast.
Vigilante tips are ok.
And I hate the annoying villain tips.
Matter of tastes, I guess.

Tip missions are hard? I've made the transition from hero to villian back to hero again. They've all been pretty fun and somewhat challenging (never thought I'd be saying that as a blaster).

Yes cause I do think playing a game equates to real life. In a game I do not care if I die...it is like falling of a bike, it stings...I get over it and learn from my mistake I did.

Unless you specifically made a character to see how long to go before dying and if you did die delete it. In this case it is ridiculous in my eyes.

Just like in any RPG characters die...it is apart of how the game goes, and you have to learn to move on with it.

I keep playing the tips to switch my character to villain and I mantain what I said.
I hate the villain tips!
Now I got one with Blast Furnace, and I have to defeat Maelstrom, and suddenly he is gone. Maybe a bug, but is getting on my nerves. Had to repeat it , of course.
I will never play the villains tips again, they suck period.
And why the trend in the new missions to defeat a NPC, then have another objetive, and then having to defeat the NPC AGAIN...In a random place all over the F***ING map?? I dont get it. The y so bad they seem bugged.
This missions are so annoying

People think tip missions are hard? Why?

Well, not all villain tips missions are created equal for sure. Some are definitely more difficult than others especially if you're soloing. The Freakshow, Rikti and the Council/5th column missions are easy and short while two of the more annoying ones are the Ms Thistle and the Arachnos/Malta ambush blueprint missions. I usually solo the tips at +1/x4-x8, depending on which character I'm using and the all-at-once ambushes in those two missions are pretty crazy. Even at just x4, You can quickly find yourself overwhelmed by 20+ mobs in the blink of an eye.
