Deadline reported earlier this evening that Bruce Willis' fifth outing as Detective John McClane in Die Hard 5 has scored itself a director in Noam Murro, who is best known outside of the ad agencies for his debut feature Smart People. There have been rumors circulating over the last few months about 20th Century Fox wanting another installment with Skip Woods working on a script, which has been confirmed by the new addition.
as much as I liked #4 I still have to ask WHY? Bruce who are you gonna rescue now one of your grand-kids? Don't get me wrong I loved the other Die Hard movies, but I think the formula is starting to get old.

I'll still watch it.

While the subject presents itself, has anyone read the Die Hard: Year One comic? Been wondering if it's worth picking up.

I will watch it! And I will likely enjoy it just as I did with the other 4!

I dunno about this. Smart People was boring as hell, even for a movie that's just people talking.

Is the Mac going to be in this one too? I think McCain and the snobby kid make a good comedic pairing. If they can't get the Mac I'll settle for PC.

Die Hard 4 was another story altogether and they just rammed John Mclain in there to make it a Die Hard movie. If they would make another Die Hard movie in the vein of the 3rd or something, that would be cool. I mean, if there were a legitimate reason for John McLain to be involved in another crazy situation, other than happening to be there when terrorists took over or something like the first 2, then yeah, it would be cool.

I'll probably watch it. Maybe they should bring back Samuel L. Jackson as Zeus, Bruce and Sam are always a good pairing on screen.

Now that would make it an interesting movie. If they can get Bruce Willis and interject the humor like what was in #3 then yes I think it will be good. I to will still watch it, not sure if I'll be able to drag the BF to it though.

I will watch it just to see what completely over-the-top action sequence they throw in. You know they are going to want to top the "Jumping off a bridge onto the wing of an F-18 Fighter" or whatever that ridiculousness was in DH4, so I'll be interested to see what they do this time.

Maybe have him lasso a SAM missle in flight, climb up the rope and rip out the guidence system, then drop onto the hood of a Volkswagon and use it to surf down a lava flow.

Irony alert. Die Hard 3 was originally a non-Die Hard script called Simon Says, and was at one point considered as a Lethal Weapon sequel.

I thought The Fifth Element was the 5th Die Hard movie.

Oh, I will too. The over-the-top sequences aren't enough to ruin the overall fun of these movies for me.

There's a sample of issue 1 available on the ComiXology store, it seemed like it could be okay, the reviews look positive.

As for the movie: they keep putting Bruce in Die hard movies and I'll keep on watching them. Same with Harrison Ford and Indiana Jones; there are some things where my critical faculties are just left at home.

Which actually was a non-Die Hard movie with John McClane shoved in.

Isn't Die Hard all about John McClane Police Officer VS Terrorists?

That can be any script really.

We need John McClane vs Aliens.

They should make another movie like The Expendables, but actually use the characters instead of just the actors. I don't care how they do it, I want to see John McClane, Ellen Ripley, Captain Kirk, and Sarah Connor teamed up with Jack Burton as comic relief. The storyline could be that a group of terrorists that have taken over Weyland-Yutani tower discover that Lo Pan has supplanted the CEO and ressurected Khan Noonien Singh to lead a cybernetic Xenomorph army, and only one man... I mean wom... I mean 5 people can stop them.
